This month, A Urban Prep is also listening to “Swimming” by Mac Miller. This album was too good not to mention in its debut, and it’s the belief of A.U.P that this album was the best drop out of the trio (including Travis Scott and YG) that dropped on Friday (August 3, 2018). It’s been a long few months for the pittsburgh rapper, who broke up with Arianna Grande, caught backlash for drunken statements, and then topped it off with crashing his G-wagon and ditching it like a thief in the night. However, if you're a fan of music, you know that Millers albums usually try and make up for all of his shortcomings in his regular life. Swimming might not get the attention that it deserves, publicly. But, with tracks like “2009″ and “Conversation, pt. 1″, it would be absurd to say that this awesome doesn't deserve the recognition. During your leisure, make sure to check out this dope album.

This month, A Urban Prep is listening to “Milky Way” by Bas. Coming off his 2016 debut with “Too High to Riot”, The Dreamville representer pulls up to further demonstrate his lyrical prowess. The NY native claims to give New York City a “whole new sound” while making his naysayers sore with envy and misunderstanding. Being handpicked by North Carolina native, Jay Z’s alleged heir, and hip hop renaissance’s new school leaders program attendee, J. Cole, Bas sets out to prove just how plans to continuously improve the quality of music as a whole. With tracks such “Front Desk”, “Boca Raton”, and “Tribe”, its noticeable that Dreamville records is strategically picking its starting five team lineup, with Bas playing at the Shooting Guard position. This incredibly sound album should set the tone for the rest of the year, and gear up for the postponed Dreamville fest that we were incredibly anticipating.
