🗣️ This is for all new internet connected cars
Tumblr media
A new study has found that your car likely knows more about you than your mom. That is disconcerting, but what’s even more so is what is being done with your information. It’s all about the Benjamins. Our private information is being collected and sold.
The Mozilla Foundation, a non-profit that studies internet and privacy issues, studied 25 car manufacturers. And it found every manufacturer sold in America poses a greater risk to your privacy than any device, app or social media platform.
Our cars are rolling computers, many of which are connected to the internet collecting information about how you drive and where. New cars also have microphones and sensors that give you safety features like automatic braking and drowsy driver detection. Those systems are also providing information. Got GPS or satellite radio? Then your car likely knows your habits, musical and political preferences.
Did you download your car’s app which gives you access to even more features? Well that also gives your car access to your phone and all the information on it.
The study found that of the 25 car brands, 84% say they sell your personal data.
And what they collect is astounding.
One example the study sites is KIA’s privacy policy. It indicates the company collects information about your sexual activity. I initially didn’t believe it until I pulled KIA’s privacy policy and read it. And it’s right there in black and white. It says it collects information about your “ethnicity, religious, philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, sex life, or political opinions.
Tumblr media
And it says it can keep your info for “as long as is necessary for the legitimate business purpose set out in this privacy notice.”
Translation: Nissan can keep your information as long as they want to. And more than half of the manufacturers (56%) say they will share your information with law enforcement if asked.

OneNETnews INVESTIGATES: An alternative home-made ingredient recipe of 'Leche Flan' using "Fudgee Barr" and "Food Coloring" turned out illegal and warned the Public Health of Concern in Pangasinan [EXCLUSIVE]
Tumblr media
Originally published on November 19th, 2024 due to financial constraints.
LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN -- The alternate dangers of sweet tooth, whether natural or artificial stuff, can become an absolute nightmare with a referred similarity of both "Hell's Kitchen" and "Kitchen Nightmare" by the veteran Scottish chef 'Gordon James Ramsay' as one Filipino food content creator 'Mommy Jacky' had been first to discover her new ingredient alternative of 'Leche Flan'. Hailing from San Jacinto City in Pangasinan, Jacky's popularity on social media was basically because of her passion and enthusiasm for creative, budget-friendly and easy-to-follow recipes in the Philippines. However, her creative flair has recently silently sparked controversies, which brought her before local authorities and food safety experts found out.
To give you a brief context… Crème caramel, the creamy French dessert with its sweet, caramelized sugar toppings, originated back in the Middle Ages. This dessert was widespread throughout Europe before it reached the Philippines in the Spanish colonial era. Adapted locally as "Leche Flan" to what it is today, the Filipino version is a richer, creamier texture using egg yolks, condensed milk and evaporated milk, often steamed or baked in a water bath.
On a different note, the well-known snack "Fudgee Barr" was first introduced by 'Rebisco Group of Companies' (RGC) during the early 2000s, and went on to become a staple with the Filipino people, because it is moist and has that creamy custard-like filling. By late-August 2024, this snack cake leader brand from RGC, who have since become the go-to budget-friendly favorites, recently celebrated their 20th anniversary through a campaign that depicts its ability to appeal to several generations. Curiously, Mommy Jacky's novel alternative recipe somewhat created controversy by uniting the traditional flavors of Leche Flan and Fudgee Barr.
A TikTok video by Jacky in late-July 2023 was her showing off her very own recipe for Leche Flan using Rebisco's "Fudgee Barr" with a Milk Custard flavor as a base. This alternative excludes traditional means and incorporates an unidentified food coloring, whether it be natural or artificial to give a beautiful outlook to the dish. But, all these alternative ingredients are totally unlawful. The video gained widespread virality for nearly 1.5 million likes, but was also a cause of worry for some netizens online on social media.
Case and point, the TikTok video spotlights her homemade transparent plastic gloves, crushing Fudgee Barr pieces into tiny bits, mixing those with white sugar that caramelizes, rich sweet cream known as 'crema asada', eggs, vanilla, salt, unflavored gelatin, and now adding in 'yellow food coloring' to make it look more custard-like. Its use brought up the safety and legality of the use of these bright, artificial or natural food coloring. Critics claim that this could be a possible violation of food safety at home, since the colorants may not be fully approved or used too much.
In our investigation of OneNETnews, the uploaded video on TikTok, wherein the unapproved food color may be used, drove local officials in Pangasinan to panic. Through Republic Act #10611 or Food Safety Act of 2013, all ingredients and their products have to obtain high standards for safety. As such, unknown food color for the most circulated recipes put our health at risk, yet put the home cooks to a dilemma.
Even as experts hail new adaptations in cooking, they stress that safety in food should always prevail. Some food colorings contain harmful substances that might cause allergic reactions or be detrimental in the long run, which is rarely unregulated. The lack of traditional steaming, among such cooking methods, further complicates the recipe's reliability and safety.
Our investigative news team urgently called out the authorities and food safety experts, as it pushes for public education about this danger of cutting corners when cooking. Officials will soon conduct an in-depth investigation and severely questioned on what "Mommy Jacky" illegally included in her recipe by next year in 2025. For now, consumer advocacy groups, especially the Department of Health-Region I (DOH-R1) urging all the Filipinos to stick to the real "Leche Flan" recipe for the purpose of quality and safer way possible.
It was, during the 20th Anniversary celebration of Fudgee Barr that the public was still warned not to take the illegally viral recipes to heart. Indeed, though Rebisco's Fudgee Barr is a highly revered snack, it is definitely not a substitute for original ingredients when making such fine desserts as Leche Flan.
An order was regionally issued a public warning to all independent food content creators when it pays to be safe and responsible. Creativity forms the backbone of cooking, but following safety guidelines secures the safety of creators for themselves and their viewers in the nation. Therefore, let this be a lesson for them that even recipes should be handled strictly with utmost care, no matter how sweet the recipe may be.

Back before retirement, I did website content work for a certain U.S. federal agency that had investor protection as part of its mission. I used to actually read most of the investor stuff I posted because I figured I should know this stuff.
And one thing that was hammered home very strongly: anytime you are put under time pressure like this to make a decision, take your money, turn around, and walk away. Do not look back.
Hello bibliomum
Have you heard of the my sensa app for adhd? Got an ad for it and am curious if its helpful or just another scam
Thank you! I am also sending Holly Mop a kiss through the net
So, I've seen the same ads for Sensa, and ignored it, but I went and found it again, and used my junk email to take a look at it, and I have to say it uses pretty predatory tactics to get you to click on it.
After doing a very, very vague 2-minute assessment (if that), it prompted me to insert an email, which then took me to a screen that promises to help improve my life, but then only gave me 15 minutes to decide on whether I want to sign up for my "exclusive" plan (how exclusive can it be based on the 2-minute quiz?) and puts a big timer next to what looks like a bargain price.
If you're someone with impulse control issues, which I am, desperate to get a hold of your life (oh god help), that's going to make you pull the trigger before you even know what you're getting, and you've just spent $60 on a plan you can't even review before buying.
Tumblr media
Honestly, it seems like another wellness money grab to me.
Reviews on Reddit also aren't that enthusiastic about it, either.
So yeah, sorry. It looks scammy to me.
Holly Mop is thanking you for the kisses, though!

Maybe this is just me, an old jaded DA fan that was around in the Before Times when people I feel were significantly more unhinged, but people saying 'this is a bad take / bad writing' and variations thereupon is not harassment. Repeatedly @ ing someone with that kind of message might be, but so would repeatedly spamming anyone with any message - the spam is the harassment. Stepping over the line into personal threats? Also harassment since it's aimed at a person.
The meanest thing I've seen anyone say about certain DA devs personally in the last week is for them to shut up. I haven't even seen anyone saying they should be fired, which definitely absolutely used to happen back in ye olde fandom. None of the messages of negativity I've seen have been directed AT the devs either. If they are choosing to go and seek that negativity, that's not the same as harassment.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe there is some out there, but the overwhelming majority of what I've seen is simply people being negative. Which is not, again, harassment, PARTICULARLY in self contained spaces designed to be for fan discussion. I went looking for it even, and I found more discussion of this so called harassment (including suggested block lists with 'receipts') than actual 'harassment' (negative commentary).
The advice given to most authors is to not seek out areas of potential critique designed for fans (eg goodreads). There has been countless drama that has come from authors sending their fans after people who write negative reviews of their work. Sending the fans after someone for an opinion they are entitled to have? ACTUAL harassment. NEGATIVE OPINIONS ABOUT YOUR WORK ARE NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK. I cannot believe that the conversation has degraded this far it's actually insane.

#OneNETnewsInvestigates: Paid2Play uncovers significant concerns about transaction delays, scams and fraudulent activities, leading to questions of legitimacy [EXCLUSIVE]
Tumblr media
(Written by Miko Kubota and Mitch Williams / Bailley Mass Communication News Intern for OneNETnews, Radyo Bandera Patrol #4 news reporter of OneNETnews and Station Manager & President of OneNETtv Channel)
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- In a whole wide world where online earning opportunities and virtual job seeking enthusiasts are increasingly enticing, a skeptic 'get paid to' online platform has caught the attention of many global techy users. The so-called "Paid2Play" brings a wide variety of options and real-life tasks. This platform has gained popularity among individuals seeking ways to make small or medium monetary income, rather than finding a better job in the outside world. However, concerns and claims suggesting potential scams and fraudulent activities have raised red flags for many users worldwide.
In this exclusive investigative news report of OneNETnews, we dive deeper into the workings of Paid2Play and attempt to uncover the truth about its legitimacy.
At first, Paid2Play is an online platform that enables users to earn rewards, cryptocurrencies such as Dogecoin, and real money payouts through popular payment channels like PayPal or American bank transfers like Wells Fargo and Chase Bank. It was started in the early Fall 2023. The website asserts its legitimacy, as stated on their official web page and social media accounts. According to their website, the said platform offers various virtual activities, including paid online surveys, clicking shady & phishing advertisements, participating in contests for selected users, and referring friends upon signing up for the first time.

Today, some of their users have had successful experiences with Paid2Play, when worldwide reports came in from our research and data analyses resources team of OneNETnews, indicate a series of red flags that raise concerns regarding the skeptic platform's legitimacy. These alarming signals include claims of potential website scams, fraudulent activities, click farming, misleading promotions, fake referrals, engagement manipulation through the same Internet Service Provider (ISP), and insufficient trust requirements to guaranteeing user's safety.

Many users, particularly in the Philippines, have reported successful payouts using PayPal as demonstrated by a series of contributed screenshot photos, which later expanded globally. As these Filipino users and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), appeared to have received funds through the online platform, it suggests that Paid2Play is a legitimate avenue for earning money for at least some participants nationwide and worldwide, including right here in Central Visayas and Negros Oriental.
Business expert officials said that it is important to be cautious and critically analyze opportunities involving transactions and money exchange, between the United States of America (U.S.A.) and the Philippines.
Tumblr media
In line with this advice, we examined various testimonials, analyzed the proof section on the Paid2Play website, and scrutinized videos and posts on social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube (which were both owned by Meta Platforms Inc. and Alphabet Inc. for Google).

Several testimonials and screenshots demonstrate successful payouts, others paint a different picture. Furthermore, some screenshots indicate potential click farming activities, with users claiming to have received rewards for minimal effort or engagement. Independent scrutiny is vital to better understand the trustworthiness of Paid2Play and to prevent falling victim to potential scammer and fraudulent platform to go out of business within a few years or more by seriously abusing its own system.
As we furtherly conducted its independent fact-checks from our investigative news team of OneNETnews, they are working closely to verify the legitimacy of Paid2Play's real money payouts, with the help of digitally integrated, international regulatory and our media partners of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Tegna Inc.

(SCREENSHOT PHOTO COURTESY: Jon Michael Calimpong / Former College Student of Metro Dumaguete College)
Our news producer of OneNETnews (Jon Michael Calimpong) reveals the official and final payouts to be sent out through PayPal (which is locally regulated by the BSP and licensed internationally by the Monetary Authority of Singapore [MAS]).
If you look closely from its cash out listing of records, everything is all being determined so far when it comes to take surveys, downloadable shady & legitimate local apps for the next 30 seconds and participating medium or harder tasks to secure bonuses with a top dollar. Overall, payments are legally multiplied to 2x after the 2-week period from the actual amounts.
Theoretically speaking, since Paid2Play Limited is from the United States of America (U.S.A.), we can independently estimate our final total for the past few months in late-October 2023. The total cash out on PayPal to be sent sometime before the New Year's Eve on or before December 31st, 2023 is worth U$D1,919.90 (approximately PHP106,420.06). Keep in mind that these estimated cash out in local currencies as an example may fluctuate and need continuous approval from the Paid2Play's financial management and staff.
Tumblr media
(STOCK PHOTO COURTESY: Google Images)
Not all of them online are to be facing trust issues that lack transparency in its privatized or limited operations from the source, and lots of requirements to distract and waste more time, making it harder or disrupting transactions of this said platform. We try to contact Paid2Play on OneNETnews for their potential statement response to all of these concerns via E-Mail or by Telegram messenger, they have yet to specifically comment to address these highlighted issues at the time of this writing.
Tumblr media
(STOCK PHOTO COURTESY: Google Images)
Through an investigation into the legitimacy of 'Paid2Play', we have uncovered a mix of positive and negative experiences themselves. Although some worldwide reports and claims raise concerns about potential scams and fraudulent activities associated with Paid2Play, successful payouts documented by Filipino users indicate that the platform may indeed be legitimate for certain users and participants.
To make an informed decision, it is essential for users to exercise caution to yourself, and thoroughly research any platform that claims to offer monetary rewards to avoid falling victim to potential scams or misleading situations by mistake, before investing time or money in any online endeavor. While showing some signs of legitimacy, should be approached with caution until these concerns are effectively addressed and clarified by the platform's operators.
As with any online venture, the adage "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is" should remain top of mind for individuals considering participation on Paid2Play.
