#constantly hearing how people think your fav is mean is exhausting

i wanna get into andteam but I watched iland and idk if it’s evil editing or what, but K didn’t seem like the greatest person to me? Maybe I’m biased because my ult is Heeseung but idk. The same could be said for Ni-Ki but he was 14-15 when the show aired, I think K was old ebough(?). But seeing recent clips of him he seems extremely supportive of his members! (And my bsf also loves K so i hear a lot of good things about him!). No hate to him obviously!! Just wanted you input!

so i'm going to apologize right away if my tone does not sound as nice as it usually does while i answer this. i am honestly just very tired of the "k was mean" discourse and people not taking the time to see the entire situation as a whole. all everyone sees is "k was mean. riki cried" when it is NOT that cut and dry

every single person on iland was tired, frustrated, stressed and overworked. each of them were being pushed to their limits. have you ever been so tired and exhausted that your words don't come out that great or your patience is a little thin? keep this in mind when you think about iland k

k was the only person who expressed his frustration to the people to their faces instead of going behind their backs and talking about them like what people did with heeseung. could he have worded things better? sure! but given that in the moment he was exhausted, frustrated, etc (which are not negative emotions) he tried his best to express himself. riki did not just cry because of what k said to him. riki cried because he was ALSO feeling exhausted, frustrated etc. it's not so black and white. and no one likes to be scolded or called out by someone they admire. it's embarrassing but what k said was not wrong

we also have to consider the fact that because k is the oldest he inherently had MORE responsibility put on him than everyone else. he's immediately held to a higher unfair standard and it's not his job to parent a bunch of teenagers. he was there to fight for his dream just like everyone else and he acted like everyone else

reality tv always wants a villain. so because k had the guts to express his frustrated feelings outwardly was gold for them. there was absolutely evil editing and they purposefully didn't show just how close k was with riki or jay etc. they focused on k's relationship with taki and made it look like he favored one over the other. k and riki are friends to this day. if k truly was so horrendously mean like people try to make him out to be, both jay and riki would not speak so highly of him still or be in contact with him

idols are held to extremely high and sometimes unrealistic standards. k is human. he's allowed to not be perfect all the time. he's allowed to say things and have them be misinterpreted. he's allowed to not be everyone's cup of tea. but what makes me mad is out of all the "drama" that happened on iland this is the thing people will not let go of. if you think he was mean, okay that's fine that's your opinion. i would hate if people referred to some of my most traumatizing moments in my life and denounced me to just how i reacted when pushed to my limits. he is so much more than the person he was on iland. he is extremely loving, kind, patient, and considerate to not just his members and i really urge you to take the time to see the kind of person he is outside of iland

another thing to keep in mind is we don't have the full picture of that moment. things were edited and framed in ways to keep an audience engaged. we also did not get to see every moment on iland. we didn't get to see how they interacted when the cameras were off, we didn't get to see a LOT. we got a snippet of some discourse and then were moved along to the next part of the show. we are missing a lot of context to what happened

at the end of the day you can have your opinion of him but just know if anyone thinks k was truly mean on iland you should probably not waste your time on my blog. i greatly urge you to do your own research and come up with your own opinions before just siding with twitter discourse etc...

I just had to move again, for like the 6th time in 3 years. I'm so exhausted of it and ready to be in a stable place where I can spend the rest of my life. So OFC I can't stop thinking about moving in with some of my fav boys!

So, can I get moving-in-with head canons for Ingo, Emmet, Blue, and Red? Is it crazy, is there only you 2 or a bunch of people, is there a giant pizza party after everything's moved in? How do your morning and evening routine change? I've been so soft thinking about all the cute lil domestic things about moving in with someone you love it's all that's kept me sane the past few weeks with moving again

- he was overjoyed when you moved in, he was so happy to be taking the next step in your relationship. You moved right into his home, your main neighbor was just his brother, so you both had help packing and bringing your things in his home.

- For the unpacking part it was just you and Ingo. And no matter what happened, be moving or rearranging his things to make room for yours, he constantly had a soft content look on his face.

- The subway boss was just so happy.

- The first night was spent slow dancing in the kitchen.

- His morning routine quickly changes to waking up before you, and waking you up with kisses and a cup of coffee if you’d like!

- You’ll either wake up to that, or just him staring at you so lovingly.

- Ingo cries at finally having the domestic life he’s always wanted.

- Sharing a house with someone he loves. He wants to spend all his time with you.

- He stops working so late because his heart beats quickly at coming home to hearing your voice “welcome home dear!”

- You’ve seen the stoic and professional subway boss having to lean against the door, because your words mean everything to him and he loves it.

- Even more so when he can do things with you, like cook dinner with you, wash dishes with you, just exist with you.

- He couldn’t ask for anything better.

- It’s odd watching him jump around gushing about how happy he is with his monotone.

- But the overjoyed sparkle in his bright silver eyes give away just how ecstatic he is. The night you moved into his home and got things partially into place he orders your favorite take out and rents a couple of movies to watch.

- The night is filled with laughter, and your playful arguing about the movie…might’ve had a popcorn fight.

- For the first few months you have to fight to get him up for work, solely because he doesn’t want to let go of you fearing this is a dream.

- Emmet gets so giddy at the end of his shift. he sprints home and almost takes the door off it’s hinges and calls out “honey I’m home!”

- And of course you just laugh “welcome home babe.”

- To which you’re smothered in kisses and hugs.

- Once you two get use to each other schedule’s, he works around it. He wants to spend every waking moment with you and since that’s not possible he will settle for as much as he can.

- No matter what you’re doing in the house, as long as you’re not in the bathroom, you’re going to have an extra set of legs, cause Emmet is going to be hugging you from behind.

- He just can’t believe you live with him!

- you two picked a nice place a little further out from town but still close enough.

- He doesn’t have a lot of stuff furniture wise, so you two combined styles.

- Little tidbit! Red is a pain in the ass to shop with! You’ll ask if he likes a couch or a recliner and nods yes…to all of them. Luckily you have good taste and this man claims the large comfy recliner you two got.

- It’s big enough for you two to cuddle in, and that’s his favorite feature.

- The first night at the new house and you two have stopped unpacking for the night, he drags you out back and lays a blanket down so you two can star gaze.

- Red’s job is mostly just traveling, he gets paid big money to go to places with Blue. Since the two are world renowned legends.

- But he always makes sure you’re safe and secure before leaving if you can’t make it with him.

- Blue often comments how happy Red looks to be going home. “You’re never happy going anywhere! Look at you, you’re blushing! Awww Red wants to go back home to his wittle wover-OW OW OKAY IM SORRY-“

- Red can only hope Blue doesn’t tell you.

- Though he feels you already know. His heart leaps whenever you run up and hug him, just happy to have him back home.

- He melts.

- So this is what a home feels like?

- He happily asked you to move in with him and you two picked a nice quiet place.

- Does you both a favor and sets up the wifi first, then the bathrooms and master bedroom.

- That night you two invited your friends and ordered so much take out, you two will have leftover for a while.

- Even during packing Blue kept sneaking up on you and laughing when you jumped. He always apologizes with a kiss.

- Your home is a nice mixture of both of your tastes and styles, but he was determined to put up posters and shelves for knickknacks and figurines.

- You’ll wake up the next morning with him laying on top of you, passed out. It’s a chore just trying to get him up and off.

- Once he wakes up he just wants to cuddle you and whines when you shove him off.

- “You don’t love me anymoooore.”

- “Blue you big baby I just need to use the bathroom! I’ll be back.”

- His schedule instantly switches, while saying he tried to fit you in when he could, now he is a menace and you have your own time slots on his planner.

- At minimum he’s going to call you at least twice.

- Like Red, he is constantly traveling, so either you’re going with him, or prepare for the spam texts, calls, and video chats.

- He just misses you so much, and Red is so close to killing him for all his whining and complaining.

- Blue however brings you back so many gifts from the region he went to.

- He feels so happy and lucky coming home to you. Just being able to open the door to your shared house and feel so relaxed and comfortable.

- He doesn’t want it any other way.

Whipped Cream-

A ballerino with a passion, since a child they longed to dance to their heart's content. Constantly praised for their gifted performances Whip desired more. No one seemed to master a dance any faster, quicker, and with such defined grace than the ballet prodigy known to be Whipped cream. Fueled by the praise of those around them, Whipped had to seek for more, to fully be recognized for their natural talent and skill. It wasn't until he was denied entry to a show, told that he just did not meet the skill level required. Confused and unbelieving, Whipped exclaimed that was a mistake, no one before has ever been better than him. Hardly did he even have to try to best his peers, but when he was brought to see the skill the dancers need to have to even try out, he was left with a lump in his throat. This only fueled the boy further, no longer was training just a pass time but a necessary requirement if he wanted to prove his worth as a dancer. Nonstop practice, frequent performances, and constant studying became Whip's norm. Each performance only dissatisfied him more at the idea he would be denied for not meeting expectations. Other scheduled performances were meet with messy footing and rushed to all means, no longer did they serve Whip importance as he felt these roles weren't worth it.

It came as a shock to no one Whip had exhausted himself to beyond belief, frustration and dissatisfaction are draining when no break is given to tend to them. The most important performance he had trained for was one of the worst he's ever done and only after realizing he was the one to blame, this self sabotage. He had to take a minute to reflect this was an outcome of unachieved potential he didn't dare indulge in from the praise he mistook as truth. And only after canceling everything and taking a break, did he allow himself months later to stand back up and stretch for the mornings warm up.

Vampire

Vampire is always described as a good for nothing drunk. Always will you find him tipsy to some extent and even when he's sober he hardly ever seems to be from his own willingness. Truth be told he much rather be left alone and bask in the refreshing beverage that is a cold glass of wine. Or is so what he makes himself believe. Vampire always had a bitter taste in his mouth when sober, an uncomfortable feeling would always creep on to him that he couldn't explain well, something just poking at him that he couldn't be bothered to deal with. A simple solution he found to ignore it was to drink, if he was too wasted to awknowledge it then he would be safe. Sure it may have made his sister drift further away from him, sure it made the people around him only further think less of him, but if it could stop him from feeling than maybe it was fine. This was the only way for him to not let the affects of eternal loneliness get the better of him... But sometimes it isn't enough, even when drunk and he stares at the glass in-between his hands, a ringing sensation begins to creep it's way into his ears. A sudden wave of somberness is washed over him and he notices the wine in his glass is being disturbed, and is shocked to see it's because his hands are trembling. He looks around, irritated, wondering where the ringing is coming from. However, nothing is there, nothing is there to disturb him or cause any noise. Nothing... Nothing is there... He is alone...

Alone...

Of course he's alone, this a feeling he should be used to by now.

Yet, he can't help but feel upset, a lump forms in his throat as he clenches the glass with a tighter grip before chugging it down as fast as he can. If he can't think, then he can't feel. A simple rule he intends to follow.

I'm surprised people see Tadashi as the victim in his relationship with Ainosuke, when it's Tadashi the one who time and time again takes away Ainosuke's agency, without being able to see that he is throwing him unto unhappiness. I can't help but think that if Tadashi was not working at Shindo's house, Ainosuke would have maybe left or broke with the family. But he can't do that if he wants the relationship with Tadashi going on, seing how Tadashi is set on enforcing the family rules...

Hmm.. I def agree with the fact that Tadashi is not what most fandom makes out of him, my man (I mean, Adam’s man) is a 100% Slytherin. But I disagree with blaming him for this, after all the revealed info. The environment they were both raised in made their situation complicated.

I like Tadashi a lot, he’s probably my fav thing about this anime, bc he’s a dark horse, and I’m once again surprised, that so little ppl see him for who he really is, portraying him as an innocent puppy, which he is definitely not.

Now to why I think both Tadashi and Adam are victims of the dad and aunties in this situation. 

We can of course say “if only they told each other how they really feel...”, but like we can say it about any love story really. Every author knows it’s no fun. The truth is that yes, they both hurt each other, and yes, if they were honest about their feelings things would’ve been different, but as I’ve already wrote under that “toxic” commentary on YT, lets look at the whole situation from both of their point of views:

We know that Adam when he was little always treated Tadashi as an equal, he never ever thought of him as someone lower than him and after their fall out, the only reason for this “harsh” treatment (well, besides their confirmed kink) was that Adam tried to get a reaction out of him, so Tadashi would stand up for himself, bc Ainosuke got mad about Tadashi caving to his dad’s wishes and abandoning him, when he needed him the most. 

But now, knowing the fact that Tadashi was his dad’s secretary and was under his control, let’s see it from his perspective: Tadashi wanted to stay by Adam’s side, Adam’s dad implied that if Tadashi did say smth, he’s gonna be.. well, dismissed and they won’t see each other ever again. That’s what caused Tadashi to stay silent in that moment. Ainosuke instead saw this as a “he’s not on my side” thing, well, because. Tadashi won’t tell him his problem, bc dad and aunties control everything, so even if he does tell him, what a teen would do really? He didn’t have any powers back then to make his dad do anything. 

And that’s when it all gone to shit, since they both were hurt for their own reasons. It’s easy to say leave the family, but 1stly nobody explained to Adam still that he’s physically and psychologically abused by his family, he sees it as them “loving him” and sadly also loves them, bc nobody told him, that love wasn’t supposed to be like that really. He definitely feels that smth is not right and feels emotionally exhausted there bc of this treatment, but did he ever consider leaving? I really don’t think so. He feels obligated to be worthy of a family, who “loves” him.

Do you think, for example, that Akashi Seijuro hates his dad for what he did to him? No. Does he understand that he wasn’t at fault for what happened to him and that his dad instead of comforting his child after his mother’s death, who was his only safe haven, made everything worse? I don’t think he does. Like his mom gave him basketball, an escape from all that family’s obligations and strictness. After her death, it was the only thing left that brought him joy, but his dad ruined even that, saying that if he’s gonna be bad at it/lose, he’d take it away from him too. Does Akashi see this as emotional abuse? No, he sees it like “well, I have to be the best bc I was born in such powerful family, so if my dad says that I must be best at everything, then I must.”

I personally hate such parents a lot. To me it doesn’t matter if Adam’s dad didn’t know about aunties hitting his child. Like if he was too busy to notice this and have no time for his kid and made his childhood miserable, it doesn’t make it any better really. 

Same as with Akashi’s dad. Some are like “he was probably also grieving about his wife”. Emm? He was like this from the beginning, bc he treated Akashi not as his son, but as his heir. And yes, that’s different things. Same with Endeavor and Todoroki. Your child is not your post production thing.

2ndly they were too young, even if they knew about each others feelings and he didn’t feel obligated and told everyone to fuck off, they’d be on the streets now, but also Adam’s dad doesn’t seem like a guy who’d leave them alone really. Also eloping seems very romantic, but I don’t think it is, esp when you’re teens. Did you want him to sell some expensive watch and go live on Hawaii or smth? Bc finding a decent job there would be difficult at this age, esp with everyone knowing who your dad is. Chen Ke from “Antidote” survived bc he was 27 and had connections and some great friends. Adam was in high school, where would he go exactly?

Now let’s go back to now. Obviously all this time it didn’t even cross Tadashi’s mind that for Ainosuke he comes first and that he would throw everyone under the bus to make Tadashi stay with him. As we see at the end, he legit believed that Adam was planning to send him to jail and didn’t get that he said it just to shaken he up and that he knew who he’d set up for this from the beginning. 

To Adam obviously it doesn’t matter whether they’re in a quarrel or not, he would never him go. Yes, he’s mad at him, he’s angry and hurt, but Tadashi’s still the person he needs the most, he’s still the person who brightens his days, even tho he deliberately behaves like he annoys him. He always looks at him and looks at him and looks at him, but then hisses smth to hurt him. Bc he knows that he needs him, but he also hates that he needs him, bc he thinks it’s unrequited.

And that’s how their classic romance goes in hellish circles. No one wants to talk as usual. Adam is mad Tadashi is like that bc his dad turned him into a slave with no opinion, while Tadashi is scared that Adam would be taken away from him bc of his ugly family. 

Now I still think that no one and I mean no one can take Tadashi from Adam now, he is his precious. So my plan is... if Tadashi made aunties do smth against him or to get rid of him, aunties will go for sure. The problem is Tadashi still doesn’t get that he comes first, so we’re stuck in this hell still.

So anyways, my point is Adam’s heart basically sings “you got a hold of me, don’t even know your power” to Tadashi, but he doesn’t hear it, bc of his insecurities, the way he was raised and his status. But yes, he holds all the power. He’s both Adam’s sanity and insanity. No matter how cheesy it sounds he was basically his only ray of sunshine in the darkness, if you take it away, that’s what it leads to, that’s why Ainosuke-sama needs more ppl who care for him. I don’t want anyone to die next time, just cause Tadashi and Adam fought about where to put their new couch lmao. I’m kidding, but you know what I mean. And kill the aunties, pls seriously, we need to be free.

Also ppl need to remember that like lots of animes/characters are parcially inspired by some other animes/characters, also the chosen seiyuus are also very important, there are lots of stuff like jokes and references, that creators use, from characters being fully inspired by smth like “Assassination classroom” characters based on KNB, to little stuff like Levi dressed in Akashi’s uniform in chibi AOT bc Hiroshi Kamiya. Utsumi already said before stuff like she sometimes think of a perfect voice for the character and then fully forms him, we also know her clear love for sports animes. So yes, I doubt Tadashi/Kuroko thing is a coincidence and even tho someone was like “zone? is this knb or smth?” I was like no, zone is actually a common thing in sports, even tho most associate it with KNB including me, it’s not like its their invention, but there were things inspired by this for sure, and from other sports animes too and no, I don’t mean the basic sports anime tropes, I mean, like way too specific things, some character designes, too. And yes, Langa appearence and personality wise is a rinharu child for real, I can literally split his scenes in “that’s Haru”, “that’s Rin”.

That’s why I’ve said that this situation in fandom reminds me of Kuroko/Akashi situation a lot, bc same as here in KNB ppl for some reason automatically thought that Kuroko is this innocent sheep and Akashi is the wolf (but also like it was Akashi who chose to dress as red riding hood, while Kuroko was a wolf lmao), not even seeing who is in reality more dangerous and who can easily control who. It just buffles me bc it’s not some deep analisys really. I mean once again there’s a reason for the saying that the sub holds all the power over the dom. 

And like just bc someone yells or threatens ppl constantly doesn’t necessarily mean he is a psycopatic killer, and just bc someone is quiet and doe-eyed, doesn’t mean he isn’t. I didn’t think we needed to explain this to someone, but aparently we do?

And it honestly kills me just how superficially ppl are watching things these days. It really gives me war flashbacks to stuff like the last mdzs s1 episode, where ppl started to comment things like “how LZ can be so heartless” lmao. Or that anonymous ask “do you think haru misses rin?”. Like you don’t see thing at all? Grey substance no needed, while watching things?

P.S. I also would die to see Adam vs Tadashi race just bc I for some reason can bet all my money, that it’s the same situation as with Akashi refusing to ankle break Kuroko, no matter how mad he is. I just can’t imagine Ainosuke hitting Tadashi in the face with a board. Like 100% sure he wouldn’t even try tbh.

Of course I can tell you more! In fact, I’d love to. 😊 (Part 1)

I can see Arthur as the young (even though not as young as Alfred and Matthew) court wizard.

He comes from a noble family that has an ancient history with magical abilities, even though it has been mostly left aside in the last generations. Everybody tends to have the potential to learn the use magic but the proper study of magic is complex and extremely time-consuming, one ends up having to dedicate most of his life to it. Therefore, Arthur’s three older brothers decide in other pursuits. They’re all are trained knights, too.

But Arthur has never been cut off for fighting. He does get some training (and is insanely stubborn) so he can hold his own with a sword or even with his bare fists and he’s a fairly proficient archer, but he’s still tendentially physically weak and even sickly as a child. As a knight, he would be inferior to his brothers – however, he is also the one with the strongest affinity to magic. So, he dedicates all himself to that pursuit instead. 

His stubbornness and determination, mixed with his natural talent, make him progress so fast that by the time he has reached his twenties, he gets appointed as court wizard as he’s regarded among the strongest wizards of the kingdom.

He also has a strong affinity to magical creatures (not always the case for people who can practice magic), he’s very in tune with them so he can always see them and communicate with them, which give him quite an advantage whenever he has to solve some magic-related issue.

However, his quick ascent and all the time spent studying also means he never cultivates relationships with other people and is quite isolated even from other wizards, who tend to be envious of his abilities. (Arthur’s arrogance doesn’t help one bit in this.) He doesn’t like to admit it, but he feels very lonely. At the same time, he’s emotionally insecure and stunted so he ends up pushing away even those people who try to get to know him.

Then, Alfred and Matthew show up. Arthur doesn’t have a good opinion of them – he doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about, he thinks they’re two arrogant boys who just have a fair share of luck and are way over their heads. So, he does his best to avoid them. (Not to mention that the ‘young prodigy’ title is his thing. One of the few things he’s proud of, what makes him worthy. But Alfred and Matthew – not even in their 20s – are even younger than he – currently in his early-to-mid 20s – is or even was when he got appointed as court wizard. So, there’s also an unconscious element of jealousy in his dismissal of Alfred and Matthew. Their existence threatens what Arthur uses to patch his self-worth issues, basically.)

There’s the matter of Matthew with magic, however. As I mentioned in the other post, Matthew has a very strong potential but he has never been trained properly so he doesn’t know how to utilize it.

A brief tangent on magic. When people are born with magical abilities, they either train them as children, when they’re more malleable and it’s easier to synchronize their internal magical energy to the external one that permeates the world, or those abilities tend to fade. If one doesn’t properly train during the developmental years, moreover, his energy ends up being out of sort. Most people are then unable to access it anymore, only those very powerful can – however, using any mildly powerful magic then hurts due to the imbalance between their energy and the external one. Sorting this out at that point is quite complex.

Matthew is mostly in the latter situation. He did start using his magic when he was a child and knows some spells, however, he doesn’t have all the formal training that should come with it. He has never truly synchronized his magical energy with the external one aside from some clumsy instinctive attempts. He’s fine when he uses a bit of magic, but any attempt at more complex (or even stronger) magic leaves him strongly debilitated (from just exhausted – but it’s an exhaustion it takes him long to recover from – to even sick). He tends not to use magic due to this. However, magic has been quite useful in some situations so he also doesn’t want to dismiss it completely. He wants to try to train it properly.

Arthur’s name is quite famous around the kingdom, Matthew admires him and his abilities a lot. Once at the court, he finds the courage to approach Arthur and ask to be trained. Arthur, however, refuses without even truly listening to his request (due to the aforementioned reasons).

Matthew can take a dismissal. Alfred can’t. (He can’t take a ‘no’ on a good day and this time there’s also Matthew’s health at stake, which makes him even more determined to get his way.) He keeps pestering Arthur to get him to help Matthew. He essentially becomes his shadow. After refusing a handful of times, Arthur takes to pretending Alfred isn’t there. Alfred isn’t deterred and keeps following Arthur around and talking to him. (He thinks Arthur’s an ass but he’s also Matthew’s best chance to learn how to control his magic so he’ll take what he can get.)

But the thing is, as the days go on, both Arthur and Alfred start seeing the other one in a different light. Arthur may pretend not to be listening, but he still hears what Alfred has to say – about their childhood, about how much he loves his little brother and how he wants so badly to protect him, about how Alfred and Matthew are alone in the world – and begrudgingly realizes Alfred isn’t just there for the glory, he genuinely believes in doing the right thing and is a good person. Arthur also starts appreciating Alfred’s warmth and friendliness, something that has always been missing from his life. On the other hand, Alfred realizes that Arthur is much softer and gentler than he lets out, he just tries to hide it out of fear of being hurt.

Eventually, Arthur understands that Matthew is going to use his magic even if it hurts him so he agrees to train him a bit.

Arthur takes a liking for Matthew in no time, once he gives him a chance. He’s so polite, kind, and hardworking that Arthur can’t help but feel protective of him. Alfred is almost offended.

Matthew has gone too long without training so he’s never going to be a ‘proper’ wizard, however, Arthur manages to teach him to channel is magical energy better and curb a bit the adverse effects.

The more Arthur stays around Alfred and Matthew, the more he realizes that, under that facade of valiant knights, they’re only two overeager (and a bit lost) boys doing their best to navigate through everything. He starts becoming very protective of them both.

While Arthur still has his place in the court, he also accompanies Alfred and Matthew on some of their adventures. Other times, he reaches them when his expertise is needed. (Somehow, Alfred and Matthew constantly manage to get entangled in matters much bigger than they are and that involve strong magical creatures.)

He also teaches Alfred and Matthew a lot about magical creatures and how to interact with them.

And while he’s at the court, Arthur can’t help but constantly worry about those two ‘wretched boys’ and wonder what trouble they’re getting into this time. Without realizing it, he essentially turns into a mother hen. (And sends some of his familiars or magical acquaintances such as fairies to keep an eye on the boys, too. Which he will always adamantly deny, of course.)

Arthur is also much happier, though. He’s still quite grumpy and isolated, but after he shows his tender side to Alfred and Matthew, he gets involved with other people they’re involved with and isn’t so lonely anymore. (He still complains all the time though.)

The following was a submission (rather than a series of asks) discussing the latest chapter, sent in by one of my lovely regulars, lie anon. As it’s quite long I’ll place it under a read more; if it doesn’t display, I’m really sorry!

Wow, Jo. There’s so much I want to say to you. First of all, thank you so much for writing WYLEI. It was 18K of goodness; a ride so wild that I don’t wanna ever come down. This chapter is filled with pain, misery, heartbreak, relief, love and lust - a diabolical cocktail (hehe) that you feed to us and we partake so gleefully. The wait for this chapter is so worth it, and thank you so much for working so hard on it. You’re such a gem! I want to gush about many parts of the chapter, namely the smut and heartbreak and confession. Wait, that’s the whole story wtf gdi lie anon is whipped as fuck!!! Ok I’m gonna talk about the sad parts first. Good lord Y/N had to force herself to look away from Kook because those eyes are a mirage now, and it will transport her to places of pain and misery that she shouldn’t find, that doesn’t belong in the first place ugh can you hear the sound of my heart breaking into a million pieces… The promise of happier and blissful days ahead are now shattered by Kook’s deadly secret :( it fucking stinks because I was rooting for Kook and Y/N right from the start. “Like an inmate fleeing from some plush penitentiary of pain” what the fuck. Y/N doesn’t deserve this bullshit. All she did was love Kook and he broke her. Fuck JK, really. I’m so mad at him right now. He better have a fucking good explanation for what’s going down as The Biggest Fuckup in The History of Mankind, istg. Or I’ll personally strangle this stupid boy with my bare hands ugh ajksfhjsl fuck!!!

fhfhfh yes, looking into the eyes of someone you thought you knew (and loved) after such a horrific revelation must be so difficult. Like, that person kissed and said sweet nothings to you behind a mask of some sort, so it must feel like looking into a stranger’s face afterwards. That’s definitely how Y/N was feeling. dfjkdjkj he really better have the most redeemable of reasons for lying to her. Will you guys think it’s good enough tho?!

I was expecting him to run after Y/N, because that just felt so much like what he’d do but he didn’t. Was it because his fiancee was there? Y/N couldn’t bring herself to hate the woman ugh my child is so pure and I’m hurting all over again :( “I’m not going to chase you” and “I won’t give up” um, what in the fresh hell, really. Why is he so lax in his pursuit now? :(

He said he wouldn’t chase her just so that she wouldn’t trip and fall to her death down the stairs (so he does at least possess some humanity lmao). And he must have said that he wouldn’t give up, because, well… he turned up at her apartment later. And rang her in between. As I try not to offer too many insights into their minds, I will say it from a place of speculation: perhaps he understood that she needed to get away from him at that moment. She absolutely wouldn’t stop running. So he resorted to calling her, and then turning up at her apartment. I don’t think he wanted to run her into the ground (she was very clearly exhausted).

And Jo, the way you documented Y/N’s journey from the eighteenth floor to the ground floor was so intricate! Her thought processes, her inner monologue, her sense of self-worth diminishing… it really did a number to me because I actually felt pain as I read it. It feels as though Y/N’s blaming herself for this treachery, you know? :( that she felt she had bursted someone’s bubble when JK was the one who ruined everything with his own hands :( god, I’m in so much awe of what you can do with mere words. I’m unbelievably in love with the way you write. And the last sentence? A fucking cliffhanger. A fucking heartbreak to come once more. Why don’t you take my heart and run it over with a bulldozer since it’s broken already lmao.

;;;;;; i’m so glad you liked that!!!! I wanted it to be intense and breathless. Constantly repeating how tired/how much it burned to run, to emphasise it in your own mind. ‘Til you start feeling it yourself!! 

Yeah, Y/N has a tendency to blame herself for everything. She thinks she can’t keep Jungkook interested, must have only been an escape from his life on the upper crust, etc… he was helping to build up her confidence, but then he tore it all down again. I feel like she should take a leaf from actual BTS’ book and Love Herself first. :( People often can’t do what’s best for them, though, for various reasons.

Next, the confession. God, I loved it with every fibre of my ridiculous being. The rawness of it all. How it came gushing through her lips and to be met with equal fervour by Tae. The exchange was mesmerising - timid and shy yet bold and dauntless altogether. I appreciate the fact that Tae had to take some time to digest the information and that he responded in the way that he did. It did felt right, after all that shit he put Y/N through the years.

I got SO into writing that scene. I wanted it paced and worded perfectly, because that was the ‘big’ moment. The fic had been building up to it for 10 chapters. From all the feedback I’ve received, I feel like I was able to do it the justice it deserved, and I couldn’t be happier about it. ;;;; thank you so much. The tumult of emotion you mention is precisely how I wanted it to play out. It took some bold leaps into the unknown and neither know what’s on the other side, but they did it anyway.

The part where Tae found her in the old haunt was so heartwarming. The piggyback ride, that little trip down memory lane… it felt nice knowing that some things just don’t change with time. Tae’s conviction in getting even for Y/N’s sake had me melting into a puddle of goo and feels. He’s so protective over her ahhh omg where can I find me someone like WYLEI’s Tae!!!

THIS IS MY FAV BIT!!!! I imagined this from day one. T__T And it was so nice to put it down into words, finally. AND YASS PROTECTIVE TAE!! I’ll be honest I’m not one for hot-headed males IRL but in the realm of fic (and as long as they’re not psychotic), I enjoy a guy with a vengeful spirit. And you mention exactly why. The protectiveness. T___T ahhajwkh. 

Tae’s initial reluctance in not wanting to fuck Y/N in this state really had my heart soft and in a pulpy mess. He knew it wasn’t right because this one fuck might make things messy again. He didn’t want to fuck things up any further with Y/N because he loves her too much to put her through another shit show. It’s a small part nonetheless, but showed how much Tae loved Y/N even though it means going against her wishes at that point in time.

Yes!!!! That was hugely important to include!!! I feel, without it, I’d be getting far different responses to this scene. It was essential to demonstrate that Tae had learnt his lesson and really valued their friendship above all. That he doesn’t just think of her as a woman in an attractive body. 

I feel like this chapter mirrors chapter 9, for some reason? Perhaps it had to do with the culmination of buried feelings and emotions, primarily desire and longing. Passion that laid dormant and stifled for fear of ruining the present equilibrium, are now brought to life with a confession. That, I find, makes the scenes all the more emotionally charged and engaging. And all the smut with Tae… NOW TAKE OFF YOUR FUCKING PANTIES EVERYONE, IT’S TIME TO SCREAM!!!

You’re 100% right. The latter half, at least, is very much like 9. Y/N feeling desolate on the heels of the other guy, the lead-up banter, the actual act; it’s all very intimate; revolves around her and the respective guy in each chapter. And with a cliffhanger suggesting that you can’t just disappear into the arms of another and not pay the price.

“I want you to watch me undress.” > WHAT. THE. FUCK. Y/N is the epitome of Big Dick Energy, y’all!!! Fucking hell. The way she commanded Tae to watch her… WOW. I’m blown away with that power. That seductress side of her from before came out to play and I was unbelievably thrilled!!!

Hahaha, I guess, because I was writing her, I felt like her usual feistiness wasn’t behind that line. She was desperate to see some form of evidence that she was still desirable as a human being, so she put on a facade that normally comes very naturally to her. In this case it was pretty forced, and Tae saw through it quite quickly. Thank God, because I felt so awkward writing that bit. It really didn’t feel right to me.

“Fuck, all the times I’ve imagined you like this” > um, hello??? This is so fucking hot I’m sweating my fat ass off!!! Like Tae fina-fucking-lly gets to bone the living daylights out of Y/N and I can literally hear the utter desperation, the excitement, want and need in his deep, baritone voice as he says that? I’m not ok what the fuck is going on???

LOL you crack me up aklwjdawklj!! YES I had to cram in all his tasty one-liners about how much he’s thought about fucking her and in a myriad of ways bc gdi it’s hot and Tae is one horny man. With absolutely no reserve. IT’S SO HOT *fans self* 

“You have me” > um what the fuck, Jo? I legit died at this line??? I can only imagine the assertion and conviction in Tae’s voice when he said that??? He declared it once more to Y/N and I couldn’t breathe because /f e e l s/. Error 404: lieanon.exe not found (was dead in a ditch and now sending this from afterlife p.s. hell isn’t half as hot as the smut you write huehuehue).

aaaND THIS IS MY FAV OF HIS LINES DURING THE SEX STUFF!!! It’s just, like, it must be utter relief and happiness and desire flooding her hearing him say that. It’s all she’s ever wanted to hear from him. Instant crEAM. 

“Heaven was his practised teeth and tongue, pinching and suckling your collarbones to an inhuman shade. Like an overzealous pet he branded you with feral desire, mounting marks into stretches of unclaimed skin. ” > I got too much of a fucking kick while reading this because hickeys are fucking sexy and territorial so Y/N, WEAR THEM LIKE BADGES OF HONOUR. Ok seriously though where can I sign up for WYLEI’s Tae?!?!?!

ABSOLUTELY. HICKEYS FOR LIFE. I wanted to show how contrasting Jungkook and Tae’s approaches are in the bedroom, and Tae is far more aggressive (due to his confidence and experience). Plus he just freakin’ loves hickeys I guess. And as Y/N said, he’s aware ‘people’ will see them (Tae fights dirty lmao).

And that part when Tae fucked Y/N from the back AND pulling her while doing so? Mother of god that was SO. FUCKING. HOT. The mental imagery will never be lost on me, and it’s seared to the back of mind waiting to be revisited during /desperate/ times ahahaha FUCK. The tension and passion in that scene was palpable, and that taunting was sure as heck the cherry on top. Tae fucked Y/N through her squirting lmao let’s all hover over our damned bucket respectively because our panties are probably beyond soaked from that part istg my loins hurt and I need an ice pack gOD DAMMIT JO.

I’m glad you enjoyed that ;)))) my guidelines for going into this sex scene was: 1) it has to be passionate, 2) it has to be rough, 3) they both have to come quick the first time bc when you’re just THAT wound up about someone it’s hard to last long when you’re so impassioned and greedy. Plus I find something really hot about a fast ejaculation LMAO *sweats*. 

But you know what I find is the fucking sexiest part in the whole chapter? When Tae took Y/N’s hand and sucked her fucking fingers clean of her own juices wHAT THE FLYING FUCK JO WHAT THE ACTUAL /F U C K/ DID HE FUCKING LOOKED HER IN THE EYES AS HE DID SO?!?!?! I’M ASKING FOR A FRIEND ASHDFJKL I WILL NEVER BE OVER THIS PART.

I had a couple of people ask about the oppa thing and honestly I had no idea that it had been sullied so much by kboos. After getting some feedback, including yours, I decided to change it to a much clearer ‘daddy’, after some thought on the matter. It’s probably the case that Koreans wouldn’t think to use their titles in such a way (correct me, anyone, if I’m wrong), as I was applying it with the vibe of ‘daddy’, and it’s probably not correct. So, just to be safe, I changed it. BTW I LOVE OVERUSED TROPES LIE ANON THIS WHOLE FIC IS BEST FRIENDS TO LOVERS THE QUEEN OF TROPES!! NO-ONE CAN STOP MY TROPE-LOVIN’ ASS!!! Can I interest you in some enemies to lovers eventually…?! (the king of tropes)
