Check your conspiracy theory. Does it sound anything like this?
There is an ancient global conspiracy plotting to create a one world government.
The one world government will be headed by a single leader.
The conspiracy intends to make everyone follow a religion it created.
The conspiracy is trying to destroy all true religion/spirituality.
The conspiracy deliberately stirs up conflict and starts wars.
The conspiracy deliberately does whatever it can to confuse, exhaust, and demoralize the people.
The conspiracy creates and/or manipulates art and entertainment to control and brainwash the masses.
The conspiracy uses mind-altering substances to manipulate and control people.
Progressive policies (EG, religious tolerance, equality) are part of the conspiracy.
Communism and collectivism are part of the conspiracy.
The conspiracy manipulates the economy to our detriment.
The conspiracy wants to do away with the gold standard.
The conspiracy wants to do away with the free market.
The conspiracy intends to tax the rich, which is bad because taxes are just legal theft.
Teaching people about the mistakes and atrocities committed by governments is part of the conspiracy.
The conspiracy creates new religions and spiritual movements to further their agendas.
All secret societies (EG, Freemasonry) are part of the conspiracy.
Presidents are manipulated puppets of the conspiracy.
The conspiracy manipulates anyone with a high political position.
The conspiracy grooms world leaders.
Agents of the conspiracy are planted everywhere, in all levels of society.
The conspiracy kills anyone who might expose their plans in ways that no one would suspect are actually murder.
The conspiracy follows/uses the Kabbalah.
Literally all of these were claimed in The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, an antisemitic hoax used by the Okhrana to justify violence against Russian Jews. It was used by Nazi Germany to justify the Holocaust, and today it still serves as the blueprint for most conspiracy theories - even if modern conspiracy theorists try to hide it, downplay it, or rationalize it with another, equally absurd conspiracy theory.

the problem with this line of thinking, as this user has unfortunately personally demonstrated by passing around Malcolm X quotes about “(((Zionist dollarism)))” & rabid calls for the destruction of Israel with the US, is that many people ultimately fall for the former because they pass themselves off as, or slingshot off of, the latter

it just bewilders me that anyone could write a character as perfect as julian and then so obviously begin to hate him. it's so weird how much open unabashed contempt these writers have for the character their game is basically about.
i've said this before but i think that the prologue was written for a different version of the game, before the team decided to make julian the heel to asra's face and the butt of every joke. "a gift from a witch who fears commitment" was so obviously meant to be foreshadowing for a major plot point, but they just hand-wave it away in the story with like two lines of dialogue and a prayer.
"no, no, that was a red herring!!" no it wasn't. julian himself is already the red herring, making his implied backstory another red herring is the definition of a hat on a hat. asra and julian were clearly written for asra to be the bad guy in the asrian divorce, but then someone (everyone? i don't know) vetoed it because god fucking forbid we make asra look like an asshole even once.
asra is the writers' favorite and it's extremely obvious. he basically has no flaws, to the point of legit cliche. oh mc my only flaw is loving you TOO much. so even though julian is already written with a very clear archetype of "guy who hates magic because he got his heart broken by a witch" that comes through in basically everything about him, they have to paper over it in the story because we can't make asra look mean!
so they just make up for their shitty coverup writing by being like haha isn't julian silly? he was wrong about everything and he doesn't like magic hehe haha. leeches! meanwhile the bones of the characters they actually wrote are in asra too, because it's clear he's meant to have his "villain moments," he's meant to have sharper edges and even be scary, but someone decided that he has to be an uwu softboy and ruined him in the process.
as always i am not looking for a debate, i will block you.

Scientism lets us convince ourselves that “the facts” do not compose an imperfect map of an incredibly complex reality but instead constitute the territory itself.

i don't see anybody talking about this but i just wanted to say i think it's cool and neat how the disinformation saint who can literally rewrite reality isn't staying within the control of her creators. good thing that doesn't reflect anything real!

one of my essays from back when i studied philosophy is being put into a good answers guide at my university<3 not one of my good ones but
#its abt the philosophy of conspiracism in the modern day. suuuuuch a blast to write#my prof told me that he was like gasping at the twists and turns of the anti vaccine movement#i was like king have you been living in this world with us. this is just the news peace and love#so fun to like talk abt the moon landing and 911 and just stream of consciousness and someone think its good#bc if i had handed that in as a poltiics paper it would be like snooze you missed these things and its not valuable bc x y z#but this dude had never heard any of it before! loved that#he was like 'to get the full 100 i would have wanted some actual philosophy content in there' and yeah true#gonna talk to the prof tho bc theres a new philosophy of AI unit#and its been running a few years i took it in my last sem of undergrad#and it was so fallacious and like dick sucking of AI engineers#i kept being like true ai or not lets talk abt how this is impacting society NOW since its being CALLED ai#and i kept getting almost failing grades#then my final exam was graded by a different prof and lo and behold it pulled my grade waaaaaaay up#so clearly my writing is. good. and my grasp of AI and the concepts is. good.#that dude was just musk pilled or smth#anyway gonna tell the head of phils to keep an eye lmao#its a core unit for data science students and it has no intellectual credit to it AT ALL imo#its like what happens when ai starts producing more ai and we get deleted from existence and i was like what abt wages girl#im the problem tho

So, I've seen a couple of posts now saying how, in some form, this election was illegitimate.
It was not.
I'm not saying it was fair, but that the system worked as intended. Yes, there was gerrymandering, artificial obstacles to voting, and a myriad of laws designed to make voting has difficult as possible.
Yet legitimacy has nothing to do with being democratic.
Nobody is contesting the results, not the Harris peoples, nor major media outlets.
Sure, I can't prove that there hasn't been some conspiracy with secret electors or what not. Or that whatever cabal has orchestrated Trump's Victory
But I don't need to.
Conspiracism is not a good thing. Claims need Evidence. Not even conclusive evidence, but some random emails about having your vote challenged is not acceptable. It doesn't mean it wasn't counted, just made into a provisional ballot. A very quick search (or this link) will tell you that.
https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/provisional-ballots?__cf_chl_tk=jiyg1aeoccumhxfbzoisj_2obmb6sf79hzpwnpmvy8g-1731044183-1.0.1.1-kuayu8ldyjov6e8c42cp01dxghwnwvemd01cjcgjxza
^(ballot info)
You can't actually rely on your gut feelings to tell you the truth. That's how you get to vaccines thag cause autism, or flat earth, or jewish space lasers.
I know it's fucking terrifying right now. But, there are no easy answers, there never was, and never will be.
Please, don't go wasting your emotions. Spend all your love on your community, and the people in your life.

list of things i noticed from various vast error wiki pages
taz and vilcus share an emanant aspect (rage)
necron's aspect is hope. makes the first third of the sbb epilogue hurt a lot more :(
aumtzi's aspect is... life, for some reason? i know im as bad at classpecting as everybody else in this fandom but it just seems a little interesting to me idk.
seinru's brain tumor isnt listed on his page
Tumblr media
^ this. (AGONIZING)
they referred to lefty getting stolen as "lususnap"ing. made me giggle
talald is 35 human years. apparently.
pozzol's page has this which i think is pretty fitting
Tumblr media
this bulletpoint is just me being confused by the vocab to be honest. how long is a "decagrade" because it says necron and oricka have been matesprits for "decagrades" but theyre, like, 13 and 14 sweeps respectively. am i just putting human meanings onto troll words mistakenly by assuming a decagrade would be 10 sweeps/10 of something. whatever
yeah hold on sidepoint oricka's like 30 human years. thats funny
this ones just me being stupid Apparently calder is a violetblood and not a fuschiablood. even though hes barbie pink. like pinker than the fuschias in homestuck
more on blood. it doesn't list al's? isn't he a rustblood. do i have to become a wiki editor. i might
why do they list the troll from the reduplication page that never gets mentioned again and the karen carapacian but not seinru's brain tumor or mention eyepatcholon at all Am i tweaking rn. I feel like i am

Friendly reminder that:
The concept of starseeds promotes ableism by minimizing or denying ADHD and autism.
The ancient astronaut hypothesis promotes spiritual colonialism and destruction of other cultures by twisting other people's mythologies and sacred texts to fit their narratives.
The reptilian alien mythology is based on conspiracy theories historically used to justify oppressing and murdering real people. Loosh/blood/adrenochrome harvesting is just repackaged blood libel.
New Age mythology is chock full of repackaged right wing conspiracy theories, the same kind pushed by QAnon.
It's also full of repackaged racist pseudoscience about genetic superiority/inferiority and the function of evolution.
Ascension to 5D was supposed to have happened back in 2012, and the prediction failed.
New Agers are recycling their predictions over and over to catch new waves of people who don't know the movement's history.
Belief in Atlantis is strongly motivated by white supremacy.
For more info, see:
Looks like it's time to talk about starseeds and the New Age movement again.
How the mythology of starseeds, indigo children, crystal children, rainbow children, etc. harms kids
New Age YouTube channel caught recycling claims of imminent "first contact" for three years

What is spiritual eugenics?

a reminder that conspiracy theories are not harmless
no not even that one—yes, that one, the one you like, the one you believe—not that one JFK theory, not that one alien/bigfoot/loch ness coverup theory, not that one theory that validates your “side” of the political debate, or sticks it to the bad person you hate for good reasons
research has shown that the biggest predictor that a person will believe a given conspiracy theory is belief in any other conspiracy theory. not how smart you, not how reasonable you are—belief in any other conspiracy theory
people don’t believe conspiracy theories for no reason. no matter who you are there is one that will be attractive to you, that will fill a psychological need, but they are built on sand, and the conspiratorial thinking that led you to believe it will come back to bite you in the ass somewhere else down the line.
even the ones you might not think as inherently dangerous in-and-of-themselves make it more likely that you will believe one that is.

Conspiracism and scientism are jointly preoccupied with certainty. They enjoy a fantasy in which experts are uniquely able to escape the messiness of politics, discern the facts plain and simple, and from their godlike viewpoint turn back to politics and dispense with it. Both seduce members of open, uncertain societies with the promise of a more simply ordered world.
