He watched Nines look him over and then back to his face. Connor tried to smile but waiting to see what he thought was killing him.

Then Nines smiled, just slightly, and gave a single nod before facing forward again and keeping track of the crowd. He had a job to do, and knowing Nines he’d do it to his best abilities. He wouldn’t let himself get too distracted, not that Connor was distracting. (Chapter 3)
