Es un animal social que necesita cariño y atención. Ellos tienen el cuerpo redondo y la cabeza ovalada. Tienen 4 dientes, 2 de ellos muy largos, y las orejas que llegan a medir más de la mitad de su cabeza. Update: Cinnabun is eating on her own and no more subcutaneous fluids! She even woke me up this morning by jumping on my chest (I was sleeping on the floor next to her). She hasn’t been able to even jump into her litter box in 2 weeks so this is definitely a good sign. She still needs updated blood tests… Now that she seems stable I can get some sleep. Thank you to everyone who commented and sent me messages. It was only through all of your help and love that I wasn’t going through endless panic attacks during this 2+ week process! I know no one wants to see this on Thanksgiving, but many people don't think about what they put down for them or what their kids are passing under the table. #Repost @dr.evanantin (@get_repost) ・・・ #PSA : Did you know a lot of human foods are in fact toxic to dogs⁉️ Including: Grapes/raisins, onion, garlic, macadamia nut, sugar-free gum, alcohol, chocolate (esp dark), and even high fat animal protein meals, such as bacon, can be a huge problem, capable of causing severe pancreatitis; and many more.. This dog obviously didn't ‘do’ (or eat I guess) any party drugs I referred to in the video but was absolutely resistant to my attempts to medically induce emesis (aka make him vomit up the toxic foods he ate). Therefore I was left with no choice but to pump his stomach. Pumping stomachs is nothing to joke about and significantly more risky than than allowing a pet to vomit on their own. This is because we usually have to sedate them to safely and effectively pass the stomach tube & pump and therefore they're at a higher risk of aspirating (aka inhaling vomitus/ingesta). I really, truly think I belong in this profession more so than any other profession. I’m fascinated by anatomy, physiology, medicine and surgery and not to mention...I LOVE animals 😬. As all of you in the veterinary profession know-making a career for yourself in this field requires a lot of time, dedication and hard work. Vets, vet techs, and really anyone in the animal world worked hard to get where they are and they do it because that’s where their heart is. Most professionals in any animal field probably aren’t in it for the money, btw. In fact, in my opinion, veterinary technicians are far, far more skilled and knowledgeable than what their paychecks would suggest, but they do it because they love working with animals. A similar story for many vets when you take school debt into account (esp these days when many students graduate with >$300k debt and avg starting salaries of 60-80k...pretty gnarly debt:income ratio). For pet owners out there please know that it’s rare for your vet to try to make a buck off you, most of us honestly just want what’s best for your pet’s health. For those very few dishonest vets trying to make money, it’s a shame because it makes us all look bad. Please believe me when I say-trust your local vets and their staff, because in >90% of the time they genuinely want what’s best for you and your beloved pets. And to be honest, total #DramaQueens 💁‍♀️ I think pot belly pigs can be terrific pets but you absolutely must know what you’re getting into! These piggies are very intelligent, almost too much for their own good, and will throw temper tantrums. In fact many pig parents equate owning pigs to caring for small bipolar children with autism. On top of that, they often grow to be much larger than people expect. There’s no such thing as a micro pig and I know many potbelly pig owners that hoped their piglets would stop growing at 20-30 or even 40 lbs and these pigs are well on their way to 200 lbs, some getting even larger. Cinnabun Update: Cinnabun had a rough day after her visit to the vet. Her head tilt was bad, she kept falling over and she wasn’t eating so I had to syringe feed her, give her 5 different medications and subcutaneous fluids. Today she’s a little better and even eating a little on her own. Thank you so much to everyone who left an encouraging comment or sent me a text. I don’t think I could do this without the support, knowledge and friendship from all of you! ❤️🐰🙏🏻 . P.S. I wasn’t going to share pictures of her like this but after reading other Instagram rabbits who are dealing or dealt with this, they encouraged me to be hopeful for a full recovery.
