Brutalist home in the middle of the desert. Built in 2008 in Mountain Center, CA. 1bd, 1ba, $1.6M + $40mo. HOA (and this home was approved?) I suspect that this was supposed to be an Airbnb, b/c it's only 1bd.

It's pretty nice inside, if you like living in the desert.

The living room opens to a spacious deck.

The bedroom- I like the sliding glass door.

Wait. What a disappointment- it's not a separate room. It's part of the living room.

The bath is nice.

I like the sink, but I'm not sure how practical that bowl would be.

On the other side of the living room there's a dining room area.

And, then there's the kitchen. Cute, how the ovens match the windows.

Interesting design on the ceiling.

Large doors on the ground floor.

The garage. Why are the washer and dryer so far apart?

Looks like a workout space.

According to the listing, there is a 3rd level where more bedrooms can be added.

The lot is 2.51 acres of dry earth, nobody for miles, but there's an HOA. What a deal.

So i was looking at my swarm tour poster and has anyone considered this could be the ruins of DRAAG/the grand immortal dictator/the concrete age after theyve been overthrown or destroyed (which im assuming will happen - doesnt seem very mcr like that the fascists will survive). And that all of the swarm promo with the broken statues could have been hinting at the downfall of the concrete age/DRAAG all this time. I know the statues weren't made out of concrete but the symbolism is there

This is a modernist home built in 1994 in La Jolla, California. I would call it "brutalist lite." 3bds, 5ba, $16.8M (you really gotta like concrete, though, to pay that amount. Should be interesting to see how fast it sells.)

The grand entrance hall is a cross between a concrete castle and a lighthouse.

Not sure where this door under the stairs leads, but it's a beautiful door. I hate when realtors take such stupid confusing photos.

I don't see a formal indoor living room. I guess it's this outdoor space around the fire table, b/c California, and there's a sort of "garage" door to a loggia.

Alongside the main entrance is this hallway with double doors.

The doors appear to open to this bath.

This is probably the closest it gets to a living room with a large modern fireplace and ocean views.

There's also this smaller room with a more provincial fireplace.

The only photo of the kitchen shows an angular counter attached to a large quartz counter. The cabinets are Teak.

Not sure if this is the primary bedroom, but it has an ocean view and a narrow terrace.

Marble tub in front of window.

This bedroom has a view and a fireplace.

And, the 3rd bedroom has a terrace facing the ocean.

A home gym.

Around the exterior of the home. The ocean is pretty close.

I don't know, looks like some day some of it will be in the ocean.

Driveway and garage are on the street.
