The first real burst of fierce summer heat reminds me its time to revisit a long term project I started in April 2017 about Hang Hau, one of Hong Kong’s new towns, built in the 80s to accommodate a growing population, and my nearest urban sprawl. A mix of public and private housing, where widening income and age gaps co-exist with increasing social pressures, Hang Hau is a world away from the glossy images for which Hong Kong is better known. The work aims to look more closely at the harsh daily realities for a vast majority of HK people.
