Mon Mothma working with the banker to try and cover up her movement of funds, and given the only option to invite the man back again and try to start an arranged marriage with her daughter and his son in exchange. Who sends him out immediately, but is lying when she says she cannot consider it.

The ISB spy who cannot leave the rebellion, and cannot leave the empire, so is stuck being an unwilling hero because otherwise would mean the death of him, of his child and family.

Luthen who has to make the hard decisions, who has to fight on the same playing field as the imperials, who sacrifices kindness and love and a lot of mercy to make decisions that need to be made, no matter how ugly they may be. Who has to sacrifice 50 men for the one, has to keep the ISB agent restricted to one way out, because to do otherwise would result in a far more catastrophic loss for them both.

It’s one way out for everyone this episode - and whatever that way is, there’s consequences from the fallout.
