the idea that climate change is 100% or mostly caused by fossil fuels and plastic completely misses the point & instills the false belief that infrastructure based on solar or whatever energy will solve everything.

#anti civ #green energy #solarpunk #remember that we only turned to fossil bc coal was becoming scarce #and coal was used to replace whale oil & other stuff that was becoming scarce #and that ancient rome -that BARELY used any fuel compared to contemporary western societies-#completely changed the landscape in europe due to mass deforestation for fuel #and that the main drivers of conquest are gaining a monopoly on resources and labor #the solution will never be 'use more of x finite resource' is completely restructuring our societies into self-sufficient communities #and using finite resources carefully. for shit we actually NEED to use them for (aka. not using electricity to heat houses #when we can just insulate houses better & use a rocket heater and dung cakes for fuel)#tit talks
