2012ish?? age 25. i was cradling a paper towel roll because i was in a sibling photo and they were all holding their own children but i didn't have a child to hold so i just grabbed this.

age 18 in my baby queer stage

and now finally,

35 years old, taking dad naps everywhere i can, working on sobriety and thinking positively about myself instead of being uncomfortably self-deprecating, close to most of my family, and blessed to have a job and a roof over my head, which is more than i can say for previous years!

let's just hope 2023 brings more of the same if not better.

Some anon sent a really cool prompt (actually two) but tumblr ate the ask when I was about to post it. 😔 I'm sorry, anon, I really hope you still can see it.

First was a Vegebul wedding and let me tell you, anon, I gave it my all.

This dress is the last one out of three versions (I usually struggle with drawing clothes tbh). I went from very elaborate to simple because I feel Bulma loves her clean lines, no frill and I feel it works better. And I thought adding the headband she wore on Namek would be a cute callback.

I spent years not even LOOKING at the quail drama because it is apparently rampant, a fact of which I was blissfully ignorant for three years, but to get what I wanted, I had to sacrifice my ignorance upon the altar of knowing some shit. I'm just really hoping that I can get what I need and get back to my hole in the ground lol

I was wondering, because I see your art, it's amazing and you're clearly well taught (either self or by an institution) on digital arts, so I'm curious, what led you to them? how the fuck do you do the thing?

I do traditional only, would say I'm chill since in secondary school I chose visual arts modality, but I can't or don't know how to digitalize my shit, so I'm curious about how you got here

Thanks! I'm self-taught and have learned everything via books and the help of the internet :) I don't remember what specifically led me to digital art. I just always liked how clean it could look and how there's so many different tools you can use within a program!

As for how I got here: my first tablet was a simple wacom tablet (I think it was an intuos one for like 50 bucks). Then I downloaded Paint Tool Sai and watched some YouTube tutorials on how to use it... and then just dicked around for a long time (like using different brushes or which canvas size to use so my computer won't crash, etc.) Basically a lot of trial and error.. A few years ago I switched to an iPad and Procreate and haven't looked back since <3 Digital art is just like traditional art in the sense that you first have to familiarize yourself with the tools and try out a lot of different techniques until you find what works best for you!

Charles knows his parents are living on well without him. Comic Charles says his Dad would be relieved he's dead--he never liked being a father.

Edwin's not affected by Angie either, but we see him looking longingly at Charles the way Crystal looks longingly at the ocean

Edwin & Charles are ghosts, and not necessarily bound to the attachments of the living? But also, there's nothing in the ocean for them, when what they both desire most is on land and close at hand.
