one of the main reasons why i love tumblr is because it feels like home. it’s a safe haven, a sanctuary that you can come to whenever you need to. it’s a place of rest, a place of healing, a place of community, a place of love, a place where you can simply just be.

Con drop is real, and the drop after returning from vacations is well noted and has been researched. You use up all the good brain juju, you need a reset and that's ok. Humans have evolved to be social by nature and we aren't supposed to be alone in times of stress or post endorphin let-down.

Think about it. Hunting was a high-risk/high-reward communal activity for years. All those handy brain chemicals, all that letdown...all of that sitting around a fire and butchering and eating and telling the story of the hunt together afterwards. So no one was alone or hungry. Our bodies and brains have evolved to prioritize and encourage community bonding because it has historically been one of the biggest deciding factors in survival, if not the biggest deciding factor in survival.

We aren't meant to do these things alone, and we sure as hell aren't built to. It's ok to ask for what you need, millions of years of fine-tuning created the optimal survival parameters for your human suit, and you should listen.

googling shit like "why do i feel bad after hanging out with my friends" and all of the answers are either "you need better friends" (i don't; my friends are wonderful) or "your social battery is drained, you need to rest and regain your energy levels" (i don't; i've got tons of energy, it's just manifesting as over-the-top neurotic mania). why is this even happening. it's like some stupid toll i have to pay as a punishment for enjoying myself too much
