Responsibility of Being Prepared! 2
Tumblr media
Responsibility of Being Prepared! 2 "But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept." Matthew 25:5 Faith is our belief or trust in something. According to Hebrews 11:1, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. The virgins from the scriptural text could be said to represent those in the Kingdom or the church of God. Many times, the bridegroom may stay late before he shows up for the celebration, but it doesn't mean that the invitee should fall asleep or leaves before the arrival period. It's a matter of faith. It's also about believing in God and trusting him with your life because you know he will do what is best for you. The virgins are like you, and I, that must stay awake with our lamps burning no matter how late the bridegroom and his company arrive. If we want to witness the coming of Jesus Christ truly, we must not sleep nor slumber while waiting for Him. Sleeping while waiting can be dangerous, because Matthew 13:25 says, "While people were sleeping, the enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat, and left." Don't allow the devil to deceive you with the seed of impatient that sound good, but full of evil harvest. Instead, be patient and wait patiently for the Lord's arrival. Be prayerful and keep the lamp burning for the Lord. Hold on to your faith in Christ; teach, and live according to the word of God. Matthew 24:44 says, "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man comet." Prayer: 1. My Father, unsettle every spirit of weariness that Satan has settled in my life. 2. I plead the Blood of Jesus, arise in your power now, and cover me in Jesus' name. 3. Every strongman assigned against my waiting room of greatness, what are you waiting for? Die in Jesus' name! Read the full article

Waiting is such a boring thing to do. We just hate waiting. We hate waiting for a long line to finish, we hate waiting for the train, we hate waiting for the perfect day, or we hate waiting for the time that we will be successful in life. Now, as Christians, we also have something to wait for. We have to undergo the long part of waiting, but the difference is that we are waiting for something that is beyond this world. Our waiting will not be for just a train or for a trip, but we are waiting for something that changed our life.
“That changed our life”, past tense because we cannot wait for this without having a changed life. What we are waiting for can only be waited for if we already know or recognize Him. We are waiting for our blessed hope. We are waiting for the second coming of Christ, who is our blessed hope. Now, we won’t be able to join our fellow Christians that are waiting for the Lord if we don’t have a changed life. If we don’t understand how salvation works and what Christ did for us, we won’t even recognize Him as our blessed hope. We will only see Him as someone that people are mistakenly waiting for.
However, we have to understand through the grace of God, we have been saved through faith in Christ. Having faith in Christ will result in a manifestation in our lives that we are putting our hope in our Lord. That is why Christ is called our blessed hope. When He first came into the world, He came to save us. He came to suffer and die in our stead so that we will rise again with Him. So now, we are waiting for our blessed hope, we are waiting for His glory to appear. By this time, we will come to Him and be united with Him in our Father’s kingdom.
Therefore, we must always look forward and hold on to our faith. We should not just live our lives thinking that once we receive Christ one time, and then He will always forgive us even if we continue sinning. This kind of mindset is really very wrong. Indeed, that the forgiveness of God is not going anywhere but we have to understand and assess ourselves that if we truly believe in Christ and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we will then have a changed life that manifests the love and complete obedience to God. Thus, let us wait for our blessed hope who is Christ our Lord, and let us wait with patience. Let us hold on to our faith and fight the good fight of faith so we will be with Him when He comes back.

From the moment that our salvation has been revealed to us, God has already set us apart. Indeed He has made us children the moment we received Him as our Lord and Savior. However, our transition from light to darkness has not been easy. It takes the blood of Christ so that we will be cleaned of sins and guilt. Yet, we have to know that it is not an instant or an immediate change.
The old nature we have will always try to fight back and to bring us back to the cycle of sin and death. It is really not an instant change to perfection but it is an ongoing process for us to be more and more like Christ. Now, the question is, have we truly known the true meaning of the promise of God that He will bring us with Him through Jesus Christ? We have really not understood it. All we just think is that as long as we will be saved and we are now set apart, that’s all that matters.
However, as Christians, we really have to understand that we should not limit God’s power and grace. Him saving us is not only so that we will be exempted from the wrath of the Father but it is also changing us from glory to glory. As our verse today reminds us that as Christ will appear, we will be like Him. What does John mean by this? It just means that it has not been known to us about what we will be but one thing is for sure, we will become more and more like Christ.
As what God said, it is only through Christ God is pleased. Thus, we are not called only to accept the salvation of Christ but out of gratefulness, we will strive to be more like Him. Although, the power and the desire to be like Him still comes from God. So, when Christ comes back again, He will appear just as He is and we are like Him for we are growing in the knowledge and grace of God. We also have to understand that as Christians, we are not perfect. All of us are struggling and have fought our inner battles against temptations. We are always in battle against the devil so that we will be able to continue to live our lives in-sync with Christ.
Therefore, we must always fight the good fight of faith and keep the faith. We are now children of God and having that title, we are now made in the likeness of Christ. So that when we stand before the Father, God will see Jesus in us for we are in His likeness already and be pleased because it is Christ who stands before Him. Thus, let us always remember to know this truth and remember that we should grow more like Christ. Let us imitate Christ as we continue to wait for His second coming. We should also remember to praise God for His mercy and grace that He has bestowed upon us. He has saved us and made us His children and with that title, we are now capable of everything with the power of Christ in us. Let us fight sin and death and know that we are already victors in Christ. Amen.
