Responsibility of Being Prepared! 2
Tumblr media
Responsibility of Being Prepared! 2 "But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept." Matthew 25:5 Faith is our belief or trust in something. According to Hebrews 11:1, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. The virgins from the scriptural text could be said to represent those in the Kingdom or the church of God. Many times, the bridegroom may stay late before he shows up for the celebration, but it doesn't mean that the invitee should fall asleep or leaves before the arrival period. It's a matter of faith. It's also about believing in God and trusting him with your life because you know he will do what is best for you. The virgins are like you, and I, that must stay awake with our lamps burning no matter how late the bridegroom and his company arrive. If we want to witness the coming of Jesus Christ truly, we must not sleep nor slumber while waiting for Him. Sleeping while waiting can be dangerous, because Matthew 13:25 says, "While people were sleeping, the enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat, and left." Don't allow the devil to deceive you with the seed of impatient that sound good, but full of evil harvest. Instead, be patient and wait patiently for the Lord's arrival. Be prayerful and keep the lamp burning for the Lord. Hold on to your faith in Christ; teach, and live according to the word of God. Matthew 24:44 says, "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man comet." Prayer: 1. My Father, unsettle every spirit of weariness that Satan has settled in my life. 2. I plead the Blood of Jesus, arise in your power now, and cover me in Jesus' name. 3. Every strongman assigned against my waiting room of greatness, what are you waiting for? Die in Jesus' name! Read the full article

Download #CelebratingAtHome for the First Sunday of #Advent at https://carmelites.org.au/celebratingathome Lighting of the first candle Christ, our Light, from the tree of Jesse you spring into our humanity and bring your kingdom of peace. Come and strengthen us now so that we may bring your gift of love and healing to all around us. May this candle remind us of your love, enlighten our minds, and open our hearts to welcome you who are our Lord, for ever and ever. Amen. Stay Awake! Your liberation is near The great Advent journey begins. The Advent readings are a rich tapestry of images centered on the truth that God has come among us. We do not pretend that we are waiting for Jesus to be born in a stable. That happened once, a long time ago, and it will not happen again. We remember that birth as we remember our own birthdays. The God who came among us is still among us. Advent’s invitation is to become aware of the all- pervading presence of the risen Jesus as Emmanuel – God among us. In the first reading this Sunday Jeremiah looks forward to the coming of one who will save God’s people, one who acts with honesty and integrity. In the second reading St Paul encourages the people of Thessalonica in their following of Christ. He prays that their love will grow and that their hearts will be ‘confirmed in holiness’. The early Christians believed that Jesus would return very soon as the Lord of Glory. As time passed, they had to re-think this belief and work out how to live in the meantime, the time in between the first and final comings of Christ. That’s our challenge, too. Today’s Gospel from St Luke warns Christians not to be distracted by the cares and snares of the world, but to be ready to stand confidently before the Son of Man when he comes. Remaining constant in love and attentive to our calling we become the living presence of Jesus until he comes again. #lectiodivina #scripture #prayer #faith #spirituality #jesus #christ #candle #adventcandle #gospel #reflection #meditation #carmelite #carmelites #catholic #christianity #christourlight #community #christmas #comingofchrist #peace #hope #love #courage #kingdomofgod #mercy #forgiveness https://www.instagram.com/p/CWyMRpplUac/?utm_medium=tumblr

Joy To The World- Hope
hope hōp/ noun
1. a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
When I was a little girl I was fascinated with the idea of a happy ending, I thought life was all about longing for your prince charming. Waiting is such a boring thing to do. We just hate waiting. We hate waiting for a long line to finish, we hate waiting for the train, we hate waiting for the perfect day, or we hate waiting for the time that we will be successful in life. Now, as Christians, we also have something to wait for. We have to undergo the long part of waiting, but the difference is that we are waiting for something that is beyond this world. Our waiting will not be for just a train or for a trip, but we are waiting for something that changed our life.
“That changed our life”, past tense because we cannot wait for this without having a changed life. What we are waiting for can only be waited for if we already know or recognize Him. We are waiting for our blessed hope. We are waiting for the second coming of Christ, who is our blessed hope. Now, we won’t be able to join our fellow Christians that are waiting for the Lord if we don’t have a changed life. If we don’t understand how salvation works and what Christ did for us, we won’t even recognize Him as our blessed hope. We will only see Him as someone that people are mistakenly waiting for.
However, we have to understand through the grace of God, we have been saved through faith in Christ. Having faith in Christ will result in a manifestation in our lives that we are putting our hope in our Lord. That is why Christ is called our blessed hope. When He first came into the world, He came to save us. He came to suffer and die in our stead so that we will rise again with Him. So now, we are waiting for our blessed hope, we are waiting for His glory to appear. By this time, we will come to Him and be united with Him in our Father’s kingdom.
Therefore, we must always look forward and hold on to our faith. We should not just live our lives thinking that once we receive Christ one time, and then He will always forgive us even if we continue sinning. This kind of mindset is really very wrong. Indeed, that the forgiveness of God is not going anywhere but we have to understand and assess ourselves that if we truly believe in Christ and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we will then have a changed life that manifests the love and complete obedience to God. Thus, let us wait for our blessed hope who is Christ our Lord, and let us wait with patience. Let us hold on to our faith and fight the good fight of faith so we will be with Him when He comes back.
