== Love Notes ==

Well Lovelies, we're coming to the end of the year here. As I write this, it's New Year's Eve. I ended up being really sick for several days so I couldn't finish these on time (so sorry for the jump scare, I legit thought I'd be gone for a long while after two docs told me what they thought it was-- but luckily, no surgery for me). I'll try to be getting the last couple of the year out tomorrow if I can <3 I did want to mention, I know the David Jenkins fanfic/OFMD Christmas special is causing a bit of contention out there. Some folks are worried it's S3, and are either upset because it doesn't meet what they were expecting so far, or worried that because it's there, we're not getting an s3 at all. These are all valid concerns! For me, I like to think of what David's doing as a little gift to keep our hope alive. Whatever reason-- whatever comes of it, David cares so much about us that he's keeping us all engaged this late into the year. How many creators can we say do that for their fandom (let alone with a newborn)? Did you feel that same tingly feeling I did as we got more and more updates? It felt like watching an episode of OFMD again, for the first time, not knowing where it was going. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions, and as usual David is perfect with timing of specific revelations for maximum affect. We get to interact with him and all of our crewmates in the wee hours of 2024, and feel that same love and excitement that brought us together in the first place-- and I really do think that's such a wonderful gift. Seeing so many folks get excited, and brains firing off a mile a minute on new meta and new headcanons has been wonderful to watch. Whatever happens, whatever comes of it, we are getting to feel that unexpected excitement again. That little flutter of uncertainty-- that spark of joy and hope. So don't despair okay? Whatever happens, we still have our S1, and S2, and we still have each other-- and if we get an s3 out of all this too-- great! Whatever happens, we still have this insanely talented, and kind, and breathtakingly creative crew, and I am so very grateful for each and every one of you. OFMD changed my life for the better. You all changed my life for the better. You all changed SO MANY lives for the better, just by being you and sharing your love of this brilliant show. OFMD is the gift that keeps on giving, and I'm grateful David's trying to give us a bit more to play with for now, to do with as we will. Happy Holidays Lovelies and Happy New Year. May you get the rest and love you deserve, and all the things you desire this year.

[Got this theory from a friend on bsky but posting it here for the sheer love of explaining things]

So when the Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Trailer teases some of the new story content, we see this SKELL. You might think "woah that's like an Oroborus core!" but actually this SKELL was in a cutscene in the original game, we just never get a great look at the chest.

Xenoblade 3 borrowed a lot of unused ideas from Xenoblade X, and Interlinking requiring the union of Keves and Agnes is just like how this SKELL uses an antimatter reactor to power itself - hence the same core design.

But what's important is the pilot of this SKELL.

Based on its cutscene appearance near the start of X, this is the SKELL that defended NLA on the journey through space, the one piloted by Elma's mysterious partner who a lot of fans suspect is the equally mysterious Black Knight from the Xenoblade X art-book.

A lot of unused content coming to fruition.

Anyway, right after this shot of the Ares SKELL, we get a shot of a mysterious pilot removing their helmet, and approaching the main party. The language of cinema implies that this pilot is the one in that SKELL. The SKELL associated with Elma's partner. Whom we have no proper physical description of.

But like, speaking of the language of cinema, if this was just Elma's Partner, it'd make more sense to shoot it as them removing their helmet, cutting to Elma going "[gasp] But you're--!" showing her recognition.

But this is shot, the trailer is cut, to keep this person's face out of frame, and to delay the reveal. It's building suspense. It's not just Elma that's supposed to get a surprise, it's supposed to be a wham shot for the player, too.

But we have no description of them. A lot of fans suspect it's the unused "protagonist" design from the art-book, a 20 something young man who was initially the lead character before the custom character was settled on.

But if this person takes off their mask and it's... the guy from the artbook! It'd be a weird twist that only makes sense if you read it, because this moment is framed as though the player is meant to recognize them too.

Xenoblade 3 borrowed a lot of unused ideas from Xenoblade X.

The faceless Black Knight and/or the faceless partner of Elma. A customizable player character. To gesture to Xenoblade 3 without overt spoilers - "Words That Will Never Reach You" from the soundtrack, right? If you know, you know.

"Cross" can feel like a bit of a hanger-on to the plot, with Lin and Elma having the most emotional connections to the events going on. So if this mysterious Black Knight ends up as an anti-hero of sorts? And has your face, giving you a direct connection?

It'd make a lot of sense.

I have been absent last few weeks but here you have the new coming soon post with what's coming this month!!

I'm currently working on October's content that is going to be a lot and I'm so excited, so this month there's going to be just 6 packs, one of them being one of the packs i couldn't bring last month. I hope you enjoy them and find them useful to tell your stories!!

2024 Art Summary!

Man 2024 was intense! I feel like I didn't really draw all that much this year? But looking at the four months I did art challenges (Artfight, Capyapril, The August Challenge & Eggtober) I definitely drew more than I probably would've x) I had so much fun with the August Challenge and I hope it carries on to 2025! I also got obsessed over MsPaint which was fun! Still eyeing it every time I feel like drawing aisdjf-- And Artfight was so wild? I'm still preening over how much art I got out to people! :D

This year was a real struggle with good art block too. I feel my art style was all over, I couldn't focus on finishing rendered pieces and the quality was meh-- But! I feel my technically skills/visual library really improved instead! I've been having worse health issues and can't say for sure how next year will be in terms of art/art improvement due to said brain issues, but I'm going to try and stay realistic and as positive as my energy permits. Take it maybe a little slower, figure out my limits and do the art that really matters to me/others.

That said, I had so much fun doing art challenges with my pals and other tumblr artists! I couldn't pick a single Artfight piece I did that I liked above the others so I just picked a Minecraft drawing I did-- sorry 😭 I love peoples OCs sm. I really wanna draw other peoples OCs more next year? It gives me life <3

And in terms of next year goals! I really want to draw other's ocs (hehe). I want to figure out my line art issues? I never feel confident with my lines and never really like the finished product so there's definitely work to be done there! Also, I'd love to draw some silly comics or short animations of my little guys as well! I think I need to work on my self discipline when it comes to long term projects?? And maybe get to posting some stuff on YT/Bsky? Because I have accounts that are just sitting there... Not sure, still figuring out where I want my art to go. Lastly, there's always just working on my OCs/world building that needs to be done too! Maybe even get their THs up and filled in :)

A lot of good stuff to do next year for sure! I hope you've all had a relaxing end to your year and here's to 2025! Remember even the "bare minimum" keeps you here, so it's just as important-- if not more-- then anything else. Keep hope close to you, it's a friend easily forgotten about, and don't be afraid to reach out! Having just one pal who can be there for you, and vice versa, can do wonders for your enclosure <3 Have a wonderful start to your 2025 everyone! ◊—› So, what's Heart of Chaos about? . . .

In a nutshell, what if Sonic was The Master Emerald? We get Dark Sonic back and also, I am obsessed with werehog, so we get a redo of that as well as every single arc rewritten, for the most part (there's some I don't have enough knowledge about some of the spin off games heheo). There's a lot of themes of generational trauma, self-worth, losing the sense of yourself and finding it again, etc.

"Origins" segment

Spikes Toodlerhood arc.

- Basically spikes being raised by Tikal and creatures of Angel Island. Tikal seals herself and Chaos in a pond next in Spikes' birthplace.

Ecoterrorism arc.

- Basically the events of Origins. Spikes gets civilized by Miles and Ames. Spikes meets Knux and then Ignis.

House arrest arc.

- SA 1 happens and Spikes feels forced to stay in Angel Island after being revealed to him that Dark Spikes is a thing. He spends the time there training his ass off with Knux. Predictably so, Spikes doesnt like staying in one place, so he and Miles sneak off to mainland, which is where he meets the babylon rogues for the first time.

- SA2 happens. Shade <3

- Sonic heroes happens. Spikes is super excited to have Shade back, he tries to bond with him... Pretty succesfully so.

"Godhood" segment

Speeding ticket arc

- This is basically the Sonjet, or how I like to call em, Speeding Ticket arc. Funnily enough, this is also where Spikes begins to realize he's aroace but not yet. I havent changed a lot bc I rlly like the riders games.

Dimensional travels arc.

- This is where all the weird shit happens with Rings and Black Knight. And also Snoutman. Snoutman is canon to the Heart of Chaos universe. Black Knight is the most focused on, it's more of an open world game, but in the same way frontiers is.

S2HT arc.

- ShTH happens. Eclipse The Darkling is in ShTH events and is presumed dead by the end of it. Sonic 06 happens and we discover what happens when The Master Emerald itself dies. There is Sonalise, this is where Spikes fully realizes he's aroace and only experiences queerplatonic attraction.

Sonic Colors happens after Sonic 06 and is where Spikes has is birthday.

"Happy birthday" segment.

Werehog arc.

- This is A Lot, but basically this is the arc where Spikes is given a wake up call and slap down to his ego. This arc is pretty grim, but it has a lot of good moments too. It spans for more than a couple months while they try to fix Mobius again.

Generations arc.

- After losing Chip and going through the horrors, Spikes begins travelling a lot and finding comfort in his friendnship with Shade. Then crazy shit starts happening, there is no classic spikes or anything, but Mephiles does come back as the Time Eater. More Sonelise and Milkshake moments and actually also Shadlise, YEAH YOU DIDNT SEE THAT COMIN DID YA-

Forces arc.

- Oh god. Well, lets start at the beginning. This is where my oc Patch The Painted Dog, "Sky's Spark", gets introduced. With him there is oc x canon with Howlite (Silver). He's also childhood friends with Tangle and Jewel. We also half meet Whisper during this arc.

- Spikes gets kidnapped by Infinite to power Eggmans invasion with Spikes' chaos energy aka, his life source. Spike is kept chained and restrained without the abiity to move his arms and legs for the majority of his stay there, so much that he loses the ability to walk which he realizes once he's being rescued. This is also where the frienemy-eggdad situation completely breaks as we learn that Spikes is inmortal, because Eggman attempts to kill him when he realizes that he doesn't need his power anymore and he can just create more Phantom Rubies to power his war.

- Pretty much the whole tone switches. During the war, a lot of the characters are forced to grow up, like Ames and Miles. Miles has almost a complete 180 from the cheerful kid he was before as he takes an important role in the war as the one who arms The Resistance. Knux basically makes him man up.

"Humbled" segment.

Post-war arc.

- Basically physical therapy arc for Spikes, he had to rush this slow progress for the sake of the war.

- We meet Whisper fully. Spikes and Whisper ond over being traumatized by war so much so that they feel they are no longer themselves.

- Mr. Tinker is a thing and Spikes has to deal with that. He ends up leaving Shade and The Chaotix on charge of watching him.

- Metal kidnaps Spikes bc he wants his awful dad back. She ends up running off after she realizes Eggman is gone.

- Starline happens.

Zombot arc.

- Pain, pain and pain! Spikes is not coping with this well at all. This arc is grim as hell. Shade sacrifices himself to save the few refuges left + Team Dark, he's one of the first ones gone. Spikes doesnt have his emotional attack dog anymore and he's always so close to losing it.

Milkshake & Co arc.

- Shade is back and now Spikes is codependent /j, he finally gets properly taught how to use his chaos energy in a productive way as well as help manage it.

- We meet Maple The Sable and Oakley The Opposum. Maple has a oc x canon going on with Cream!

Surge arc.

- Spikes gets a break? Too bad, let's break his peace. Starline's back.

- I dont have a lot written but basically, Surge and Kit are around for about 4-5 months. Starline gets fried and drowned by Surge and Kit before escaping.

- Surge and Kit are out to get Spikes & Miles.

- Kit and Miles do get in a fight. Kit loses, miserably.

- Surge is pissed the fuck off about it bc they kidnapped drippy and she's alone...with her thoughts.

- She attacks Spikes at night after following him, planning to kill him. They get in a fight, Surge "kills" Spikes but he's able to finish her in his Shattered form. She's dead for a while before she wakes up again.

- She tries killing Miles and Spikes again, Shade is fed up with her shit for trying to kill his weirdo and atom bombs her pretty much. Now she's gone forever.

- Kit and Miles actually do bond.

Generational trauma arc. - Knux and Spikes' beef finally hits the fan. Knux has been stressing about Spikes being almost killed again and he's just been being the worst pretty much. Spikes and Knux fight each other like dogs.

"Moonlight" segment.

Eclipse arc.

Finale Outline:

The Grin Malkin assigns Lyney the ultimate heist: steal Lord Furina’s birthday cake. It’s a grand success..!! To a point where the Grin Malkin decides it is time to leave Lyney. They have a moment where Grin Malkin has some last words with Lyney before he finally disappears. In the middle of Lyney’s distress, the Garde arrive to arrest Lyney of the House of Hearth, claiming he is THE Phantom Thief.

Lynette and Freminet come up with a way to turn into the PT. A final letter from the Knave is sent to help them out.

The trial is held. Nearly all of Fontaine attend, including Lyney’s father. 

Aether, as Lyney’s friend, decides to be his attorney. 

Lyney denies everything.

Lynette comes to save him by reenacting their doppelganger phantom thief act.

In the chaos, Lyney and his siblings escape via Freminet’s air mechanism. It crash-lands but luckily into one of the Knave’s old safety hacks. End scene is Lyney not being alone with his friends and family.

I have motivation('t) now... I'm unstoppable!

so, about 14-15 or so days ago (writing this in advance so idk when I'll post this) I made a tape concept involving a play and now I'm here with new stuff about it & I'm here to share and make a full version of this idea but first I must warn a few things:

This will contain spoilers to the official games (1 & 2)

This takes place after the second so it's me assuming what comes next

The characters that aren't canon most likely won't return again outside of a few doodles I do on Bsky or something :/

My English is literal cheeks (despite it being my first language) so expect grammatical errors and weird wording😔

with those major ones out of the way let us move on to the less important things shall we.

The new characters include, Shelly (snail), Peter (parrot) & Octavia (octopus)

This will be an EXTREMELY long yap fest so I might have to split this into 2-3 parts as to keep people from having to take 3 days to finish (and me from having to add Subway Surfers footage here T~T)

there will be head canons here, but I'll try to keep it to a minimum

without further ado let's get into the thingy thing B-)

Riley entered the latch braced for what was to come but as they traveled down the ladder, they had mis stepped and as they dangled from the ladder the ladder fell off its hinges. Riley made it into some kind of secret staff room but tried not to touch anything unnecessarily besides an old closet with a tape called "Let's do a play" but the handwriting was poor but readable they saw a VHS player and sighed as they went to the tv and inserted the tape.

"Hi I'm Amanda." Amanda is seen in a dress sitting by herself on some stairs which leads up to a small stage with blue curtains "I invited some friends to do a play with me but nobody's here yet..." She says turning towards the empty stage we cut to a point of view that shows the stairs & a bit of the stage "And I'm wooly- WOOAAH!" Wooly slides into the scene but then down the stairs. Amanda giggles a bit then asks "Wooly? Are you okay?" Wooly gets up the stairs now slightly bruised and says "Yeah but... Who built these stairs??" He says somewhat annoyed dusting himself off "Well have you seen the others?" Amanda asks, "Umm I think I saw Shelly across the street, so she's on her way, but she might take a while to get here." We cut to the full view of the stage where there's a few props and Amanda & Wooly are now suddenly in the center of the stage. "Can you help us get the play set up?" Amanda asks Riley. Riley nods their head. "Okay I'll get the scripts ready wooly you... Go sit in a corner or something and you get the props ready remember we're going for a house-y theme."

Riley pauses the show to see a miniature stage and a bunch of decorations and sets it to a house-like theme as Amanda had asked and resumes the tape. "Wow nice you sure know how to decorate!" Amanda says with a smile remarking on the nicely set up stage. Suddenly someone appears on the stage "Shelly you're here!" Amanda exclaimed excitedly. "Hello Amanda!" Amanda went to go hug shelly but failed to remember shelly is permanently slimy (she's a snail😔) "Oh. Umm... Maaaybe You should um dry off..." "I can't remember?" "Oh right, right, righ... Wait we have enough people for the first scene!"

"Places everyone!" Suddenly the tape glitches out and we see the whole stage, Shelly is sitting on a couch, Wooly on a director's chair, and Amanda is completely out of sight. "Once Apon a time there was a "grill" I mean uh girl named Susan, and she wanted to "entertane" Uh entertain people and make people happier." "Man, I wish that I could make people happier... Everyone here is very gloomy" suddenly a bunch of noises came from the ceiling and just before riley could turn around a big shadow appeared in front of the screen "Hey who turned out the-" "AAAAAAAAÁ- I mean aaa." AE let out a loud screech and scurried behind the tv. "Oh, the lights are back on we can continue the play." Before they could do anything Chicken scratch (the opossum for some reason has a name now??? Idk tho) steals a leg from the couch making Shelly fall over. (1/3)

Gyatt zam this took a long time hoped you enjoyed part 1 of the play!

I do ask for constructive criticism as I haven't done something this big yet and I think Shelly feels a tad bit out of place and Wooly was a bit out of character, but I think I cooked let me know what y'all think bye for now!

(other info ahead!) time took: 14 or so days (don't ask) Peter and Octavia will be introduced in part 2 but idk if thats final.

Yin Yu's soul reenters the Cycle of Reincarnation instead of being trapped in the shackle; the fic follows the story of how Quan Yizhen and Yin Yu reencounter several times, with Yin Yu in different forms, until they finally reunite for good. HuaYin, multi-chapter fic, rated E. Dead dove. Canon-divergent AU with aroace Xie Lian who doesn't reciprocate Hua Cheng's feelings. It follows Hua Cheng's journey towards rediscovering the meaning of love and devotion, with Yin Yu playing a fundamental part on it, of course. Endgame HuaYin, of course, but also with a focus on the meaning of platonic love, friendship, soulmates, and forgiveness. Xie Lian and Quan Yizhen are still very important for Hua Cheng and Yin Yu, and they share a deep bond that goes beyond romantic feelings.

FIC WRITER YEAR IN REVIEW!!

Based on this tumblr post.

the first fic you wrote/posted this year: my sweet/sad Tanya/Roger AU "Just a Kiss". I wanted something soft & self-indulgent, and I wrote this over the course of a day or two when things in my life were stressful.

the fic you had the most fun writing this year: I absolutely LOVED working on "Her Muse" because it started as this absurd smutfic based on a tweet from JAVdottxt (the Japanese Adult Video translation account), and quickly became one of my favorite T/R AUs.

a time you tried something new (character ship, fandom, style, trope, etc): I wrote a Hanahaki AU! "With Petals in Our Hair" - it was so exciting, I love trying new things and challenging myself.

the fic you're most proud of this year: Definitely the T/R Hanahaki AU, I don't care if it's one of my least popular.

any challenges/events/etc you participated in this year (or your favorites if you don't want to list them all): I started ficwip's 3-sentence story challenge on bsky, based on little stories from the main fic. It's called "How to Make Friends & Eat Macarons in 3 Bites or Less" and it's tons of fun to write.

the last fic you wrote/posted this year: I took a break from my main story to finish a T/R camgirl AU, "The Price of Sugar." It'll be my last work of 2023.

your writing goals(s) for next year: I accomplished so much this year with my OC writing, between the main story and AUs/side stories, I just hope to keep that momentum going, have fun, and come closer to giving Tanya & Roger the happy ending they deserve. ^__^
