that hc about hannibal having hepatitis makes it really funny how much they went back and forth on how much medical knowledge will has on the show. he diagnoses hannibal correctly w 5 seconds of eye contact and is the only one to consider diabetic ketoacidosis w mushroom man but then they need a metaphor to explain to him how they could be harvesting organs later on. bc will apparently does not know what the aorta and inferior vena cava are. sorry i just always found that 'using will to explain something to the audience' moment kind of clumsy tho ig you could always claim zeller was just being a bit of a dick.
oh yeah fr it's consistently extremely unclear how much will knows about human biology/forensics more generally. he's clearly got some degree of knowledge -- beverly points this out immediately upon meeting him, he's known by name to some within his field for a monograph on time of death by bugs, a paper it's highly unlikely he could've produced without some degree of medical knowledge. the show tends to forget he's an expert in his field quite a bit, as well as the fact he's been in that field (forensics, but also law enforcement generally) for AT LEAST A DECADE. why he retired out of the police to teaching and not to lab work or academia when it appears he's far more qualified for it is a mystery.
while i'm 100% aware this is just a Thing With the Writing (it's common to have uncommonly known knowledge explained to the audience via the mc), it's always fun to think up some canon-compliant explanations for it. i offer you will graham is just really fucking autistic, and knows a lot about very specific areas and nothing at all about other areas. while he is highly educated, he didn't grow up in an environment especially conducive to learning, and so it's entirely probable he skipped some basic biology class to move from one costal town to the next. also you're absolutely right, it would be entirely in character that zeller was just being an asshole (affectionate) -- he doesn't exactly respect will as a professional 9 times out of 10

Hey s1 au where will gets a second opinion and does not connect the dots to serial murder and just thinks hannibal is another unethical doctor wanting only to study him. This ends up alienating him from hannibal, Alana (dr. Lecter after is her friend her recommendation), and jack (did he know? Will can't be sure)

Insane things that Will did that make him much worse than Hannibal:
He had a gun with him when Hannibal stabbed him and he didn't even try to fight back, he let himself be held as his bowels were falling out
He foreplayed with his therapist during therapy
He had to be stopped from shooting a guy crawling out of a horse all because he had psychosexual rage towards his therapist and wanted to take it out on the guy he was supposed to catch
Flew to Europe to sneak around Hannibal's old property, called the scar on his stomach a 'smile' and forced Chiyoh to kill the guy she's been keeping a prisoner because he wanted to see what she would do, then turned his corpse into a grotesque art piece with no witnesses to that
He sailed to Europe and told the detective there that 'he doesn't know what he'll do when he sees Hannibal so he should be careful' ?? (brother you're there to catch Hannibal....)
He sat with Hannibal in the gallery saying the most romantic shit ever, failed to stab him and then he just let Hannibal dig the bullet out and drug him??? (you can't convince me he didn't have an ounce of energy to fight back or see that coming mr I tell the future with senses)
He started combing his hair back after Hannibal tried to saw open his brain... ok whore
He got jealous when Hannibal started admiring a serial killer
He never once complained about eating Hannibal's cooking & he KNEW it was people...

loooootta parallels between klavier and hugh dancy's will graham, tbh. same principle of being transformed first against your will, then accepting the change because you're too far gone to go back so you might as well walk forward, and finally completing the transformation yourself because you've come to see the beauty inherent in the change. by a similar token, ondine is a little bit of both bedelia and alana.
#OOC.#the more i draw parallels between nbc hannibal and jallaklavi the more these fuckers take on a clearer shape for me#i initially set out to make a non-romantic venom out of jalla & klavi but i think...klavi does come to love jalla in a way#more indecipherably so than strictly platonic or romantic but it's definitely a love of sorts#it's a love born both from the necessity of cooperating to survive and out of the comfort of being enabled#by a similar yet opposite principle klavi comes to love ondine (although it's strictly platonic there) bc she understands him#& eventually because she understands him but she doesn't Like him. there's a safety in being Checked after running off the rails for so lon#i don't think ondine ever loses herself to anima the way klavi loses themself to jalla bc she doesn't Love anima. she isn't Made to#all of ondine's problems come about so naturally and humanly that she doesn't treat anima like her savior or her villain. anima just Is.#anima is someone that asks for her help and ondine gives it bc she's got nothing to lose and everything to gain. and she gains a lot#meanwhile jalla is part of the REASON that klavi loses everything. why he loses every shred of safety and future he had#and klavi can fight their presence in his life all they want but it will never change anything. he's not strong enough to fight forever#but if he comes to Love the good things about having a mad god in their head then. there's less he has to think about losing#idk. i'm going berserk about my favorite little freak today

will is werewolf coded because his darkness is hidden and repressed even to himself. he fights against it relentlessly, but he can’t get rid of it no matter how hard he tries. he only comes to terms with what he is under the light of the moon when he realises how much he loves the hunt.
hannibal is vampire coded because his darkness is always there, an irrepressible hunger within him. he can hide it from other people but never from himself, and so eventually gives in to his most violent impulses, despite the cultured exterior he gives off
idk i think it’s neat. they’re both so cool

Dark! Hannibal Lecter, and John Wick x Young Mother! Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Warning: Age gap, reader is a legal adult)
Hannibal Lecter
You booked a thereby session with him, but he did not expect you to attend with your baby.
"I really apologise, but I couldn't leave my daughter at home, and the babysitter cancelled in the last minute-"
"It's alright, Ms. (L/n), I don't mind at all"
Apparently, you needed therapy to get over your boyfriend's death as it traumatized you.
And Hannibal found it as a chance to get closer to you as the sessions became frequent and longer.
Allowing him to be more obsessed with you.
"I advise you to find a new partner, it will help you move on"
"No one would like to date a single mother like me, Dr. Lecter"
"Nonsense"
Little by little, Hannibal became closer to you providing for you and your child, making sure all your needs are met with expensive gifts.
Even though you refused at first, but Hannibal managed to convince you that he is doing all of this because you are a dear friend.
However, you don't know that he is the one who murdered your boyfriend from the beginning.
And made your friend suggest him as a therapist.
It is all going according to plan.
The next step is marriage and him adopting your baby.
John Wick
You were the daughter of Viggo Tarasov and a single young mother living in your father's mansion in peace.
That was until your brother, Iosef, screwed things up and decided to kill John Wick's dog and steal his car.
Of course, it led to your family demise.
You don't know why he didn't kill you and your son, maybe he wasn't heartless as he seemed.
When John took you and your son with him to live in his home, you did not fight him, fearing for your baby's life.
For the first month living with John, you refused to speak to him and stay almost all day in your room with your son.
Honestly, John bought all the necessities, making sure you are comfortable.
"Why did you keep me and my baby alive?"
That's the first question you ask him after the tragic night, no fear in your eyes, only confusion.
"It's not your fault"
That answer didn't satisfy your curiosity.
"Then why did you force me to come with you?"
John only grabs your delicate hands with his rough ones, smiling a bit.
"So, you can take the place of my wife"

♡ slashers scenarios | you’re almost a victim… (part 2)
♡ fandoms; House of Wax, Scream (kinda), Hannibal/Silence of the Lambs, Dead by Daylight, slashers (general)
♡ characters; Bo Sinclair, Danny Johnson, Hannibal Lecter
♡ reader; gender neutral
♡ cw; mentions of violence and cannibalism, kidnapping, stalking, suggestive content
♡ notes; I’m kinda surprised this prompt won out for a part 2 but very happy lol, I had some fun ideas.
the whole gang is not here, just some kinda kinky guys again- I feel like this doesn’t work super well for every single slasher? only some of them are psychopaths AND perverts
•┈••✦ ❤ ✦••┈•
Bo Sinclair
Tumblr media
> bo was having a rough day
> your friends had been putting up one hell of a fight, killing the first four was a huge pain in ass
> so by the time there’s only two of you left, he hasn’t even gotten a proper look at you
> it’s not until you come back to the gas station, wide eyed and begging for help that he finally notices you
> god you’re cute- you can be last
> he drops the nice guy act and gets you to the chair- rough as always and threatening you the whole way
> but then he notices it’s all a lot easier than usual today
> he glances up and can’t help but grin
> your cheeks are bright red and your chest heaving- you like being restrained
> “i’ll be good- promise—“ you mumble before he can be a smart ass
> he gags you anyways, but he praises you as you open your mouth for him to stuff the rag it in
> he can hear you whimper as he does and he’s just itching to leave so he can come back
> he leans over, one hand planted between your legs to steady himself
> he can hear your breathing catch as he simply kisses your forehead, snickering as he leaves
> you were really something
> a pretty, obedient little something that would last way longer than a day if you kept it up
Danny Johnson
Tumblr media
> he’s worried you saw the flash of his camera through your window that morning
> he’s normally so careful, he can’t believe he slipped up like that- honestly he’s surprised you didn’t call the cops
> you must have been too groggy, or maybe it wasn’t as dark as he thought it was at the time. maybe you noticed but didn’t put two and two together
> he needs to kill you soon anyways. he’s been watching for a while, and he’s wasting time
> he settles back into his usual spot where he can see perfectly into your bedroom
> he sees you frown just a tad as you pick up the phone call from an “unknown number” - but you still pick up
> “Hi there, doll .”
> he’s called you more than once, this “ghost voice” that’s been terrorizing you- and god is it a nice voice
> a nice voice that says vile things. some of them just violent, some…well some things you like too much
> you can see you make an expression he doesn’t expect. you bite your lip, cheeks pink
> he’s seen that look before…not for Ghostface, of course, but for Danny
> you were easy enough to befriend, and it just gave him more opportunities to keep tabs on you
> like most people he charms, you clearly have a crush on him, and that little lip bite is about the same face you make when he flirts
> maybe he’s just seeing things
> you couldn’t be that perfect.if you were he would have to keep you around
> he continues on and on, observing you carefully
> and you just keep getting more and more flustered, even when he’s threatening to choke you stupid
> “you know you’re so cute when you blush like that,”
> what you say next comes just about as close to scaring him as you can get
> “Thank you, Danny.”
Hannibal Lecter
Tumblr media
> you weren’t quite as close to victimhood as one might assume
> but he was a fast killer once he had a mark set- you had to impress him more than a bit to be considered and then ruled out
> you start as his patient
> you’re a meek thing, easy to read and fragile
> you’re practically asking to become an entree
> if you taste as good as you look, you’d be his best dish yet
> it’s not hard to get you alone outside of an appointment
> you’re delighted when he invites you to a dinner party- you’ve heard great things about his little get togethers
> and he even lets you help him get ready, setting the tables
> the conversation become macabre as you discuss some recent murders that police suspected were committed by a cannibal
> that he committed for the sake of the dinner party, naturally
> he corners you before you can realize it - he likes playing cat and mouse
> you giggle nervously and look up at him
> he’s got a hand on the wall above you, and he notices your eyes linger on his toned forearms
> many patients and victims have crushes on him, it’s not surprising or a deterrent
> though it surprised him the gristly conversation wasn’t bothering you
> “yknow, it must be nice to know you’re safe from that serial killer in the neighborhood. If he is a cannibal, he’s most likely to chose someone more sedentary.”
> you leave him there, as if you hadn’t said something so delightfully offputting to find a vase for the table
> maybe he could do some further studying….

Slasher House
warnings: cussing, demons, and well ofc, slashers.
a/n: enjoy my little angels!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you don’t know how you ended up here, but here you were, in a shitty house in the middle of no where. also did i mention there’s a bunch of psycho killers that live with you?? no? well let me tell you.
freddy, hannibal + will, art + the little girl, vincent, candy man, pin head, bo, bubba, thomas, penny + pennywise, michael, cory, all ghostfaces, jason, chucky, tiffany, carrie, jennifer, anabelle, patrick, crepper, valak, the crooked man, and the babadook somehow lived here.
well, bubba & thomas don’t live with you, but about an hour or so away. the come visit on saturday’s tho, so that’s nice.
about every damn 5 minutes there’s a fight somewhere happening. it’s usually freddy and jason, but sometimes it’s penny and pennywise going at it over something you don’t care to ask about.
sometimes you see art come in and break up the fight, you think it’s cute how he’s always there to help.
hannibal and will have their own stuff to them selves by acquiring their own room and bathroom. they keep their relationship and love live private from you and the rest of the group, but you guys respect it.
sometimes hannibal, will, candy man, and pin head have nice conversations, but will gets bored and leaves them alone.
patrick is everyone’s opp, like literally everyones. hannibal was fighting the urge to eat him as soon as he met him. but you had to beg him not to. freddy really can’t stand him. he said he’s a “proper bitch” which you can agree with somewhat.
now let’s talk about valak. he’s very, very, very sneaky. like, concerning type sneaky. you never hear him, or see him, unless he wants to be seen. he talks, barley. sometimes you see him with anabelle or the crooked man. he sometimes scares you, and he knows.
the babadook on the other hand, he stays hidden, literally. it’s your job to get up everyday and feed him his daily worms, or he gets grumpy and makes the house shake and shit. he kinda only trust you for some odd reason to feed him. you’ll never question it tho.
you sleep in the second floor of this monstrosity of an house. on your floor is freddy, carrie, billy, and stu.
carrie is very sweet, and usually speaks only when spoken to. freddy on the other hand…we all know how he is.
billy and stu, are probably the loudest on your floor. and that’s because they throw fucking party’s in their room with the other ghostfaces. sometimes you’re invited, sometimes not. it depends on billy’s mood that day.
now don’t get me started on the rest of them…
Tumblr media
i really wanna start writing this so i hope you guys like it!

"No live organism can continue to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream..."
Book Recs: The Gothic After Shirley Jackson
Peter Straub, Ghost Story: One of the great horror novles about misogyny that is also misogynistic. But, I will say in the 30 or so years that this book has been in my life, I've come to see it as smarter and more interesting with its unreliable protagonists than I had previously thought. And this is partially the skill of the writer unfolding for me as I mature, but I cannot help but think that Current Events make it impossible to not see the Chowder Society as an allegory for the U.S. Supreme Court
Rene Depestre, Hadriana In All My Dreams: A gorgeous, richly written zombie story but I also think a very early exploration of the ideas you find in a lot of feminist horror critiques. What if the beauitful dead girl wants to be something other than beautiful and pure and perfect and dead?
Susannah Clark, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrel: The hype over this book when it came out was so intense that I think I undervalued it at first because it could not possibly have lived up to that hype. But it truly is excellent.
Tananarive Due, The Good House: This book is such a perfect iteration of the Steven Speilberg/Stephen King style of normal family in peril. Due's latest book, The Reformatory has won so many horror awards this year and it also a wonderful new version of books about the children fighting evil. There's so much heart and warmth in all her books, even when awful things happen.
Helen Oyeyemi, White is for Witching: A austere, Jackon-esque haunted house book that also reminds me a lot of Sarah Waters' The Little Stranger. It's very much rooted in the conservative, nightmarish era of the 1980s, which makes it now relevant for today.
Jeanette Ng, Under the Pendulum Sun: This book about Victorian missionaries in the fairy realm ends up on so many of my recomendation lists. If Under the Pendulum Sun has one fan, and it might, that fan is me. But I remain ever hopeful that I will be able to persuade enough of the reading public that it gets a sequel.
Afia Atakora, Conjure Women: A book that is riffing on both Jane Eyre and The Beguiled and, most of all, digging in the rich gothic soil of "how do we live together after betraying each other to survive?"
Olga Tokarczuk, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead: What else can be said about this book? It's an ecofeminist Hannibal episode in the most complimentary way possible. It's probably insulting to put Tokarczuk on a list with such goofy books, but she's having fun here.
Emma Rous, The Au Pair: This is the stupidest book on this list. It is possibly one of the stupidest books ever written, something I say with profound love and admiration. Nothing that happens in this book makes emotional or medical sense, and yet, it's a fucking blast.
