Been a bit for this, but after drawing some of the Heroic Warriors as Cookie Run characters, I decided to do the same for some Evil Warriors! Most are Filmation-oriented, but I felt the 200X way was better for Tri-Klops.

Formerly Prince Goatmilk Cookie, being saved from crumbling turned the thought-to-be heir of the Milk Kingdom into Sugar Skull Cookie! Despite his sugary skull, he is dripping with bitter malice, especially towards his nephew, Prince Buttermilk Cookie. With his powerful Goatmilk Staff, he leads his own team of evil warriors to take on the heroic cookies in an attempt to get the secrets of Castle Earlgrayskull for himself. However, he's also found himself against Dark Enchantress Cookie and her group lately. One of the only things Sugar Skull Cookie cares for is Berry Drop Panther. Rival to TigerMilk Morsel, he is a fierce and vindictive kitty! He makes for a good Combi bonus with his master, but is far more content to lounge around the lair when he's not in need. Being taken in by Sugar Skull Cookie's team from the streets is Nightshade Cookie. A powerful sorceress, she unfortunately seems to have it drilled in that she's meant for the Evil Warriors. There's a good side there somewhere, but it feels like it's being hidden far too strongly by a combination of underconfidence, manipulation, and false praise. Despite her heavily unwavering loyalty to the Evil Warriors, she has a respect for Miracleberry Cookie, along with a heavy rivalry towards Pomegranate Cookie. The literal brute squad of the Evil Warriors is Bearclaw Cookie. Armed with burnt almond claws, he is the biggest muscle of the Evil Warriors. With the ability to control nearly any Cookie Pet, he makes for devastating Combis with nearly every creature. Despite this, he can never combo with TigerMilk Morsel and is easy to outwit by the heroes. Despite his rough exterior, he cares for Nightshade Cookie, and worries about what paths she might be taking. Gummy Fish Cookie is a former ruler of a kingdom in the soda seas. Disposed from his role, he has allied himself as a third party with Sugar Skull Cookie. Only showing up when he's called for, he's more content to lay waste to anyone that tries to doubt his authority. Despite this, he is very protective of the seas. He has a soft spot for Squid Ink Cookie and Sorbet Shark Cookie, is interested in the history of Sugarteara, and reveres Sea Fairy Cookie. Holding onto life from a combination of errant oven parts and science is Jawbreaker Cookie. Second in strength to Bearclaw Cookie, along with second in wits, he is armed with a multitude of amazing things. With a mechanical arm that can be swapped into other weaponry and a jaw that can snap a cookie like a, well, cookie, he's a living army. Thankfully he's also easy to bamboozle, something that helps the heroes fight him. Blinded in both real life and by Sugar Skull Cookie is Spumoni Cookie. Once an amazing swordsman and scientist that preferred to be alone, he was given a helmet of three different ingredients by Sugar Skull Cookie. While this has restored his vision, it has also been brainwashing him into being one of Sugar Skull Cookie's minions. However, his scientific apt is not dulled whatsoever. He was the one to bring Jawbreaker Cookie back to life, and is constantly creating new inventions in attempts to turn the tide towards the side of evil. 5) Cream/Amy

What happens when you put two game breakers together?

In theory, this team doesn’t have much that makes it stand out: aside from Trick Actions (and the frankly useless Hip Drop), C/A’s only peculiarity is that it has two melee attacks, the Hammer on the ground and Cheese in the air (by the way, this means that this team cannot Spin Attack, which can be a detriment).

So why is it in my top 5 out of 20? Simple: Cream is a natural game breaker, and this is Cream at her best. I would say that this team is the polar opposite of its counterpart Amy/Cream: Cream’s natural abilities are enhanced by Amy’s properties, and together they make a genuinely fun team. There is no special move that makes this combination unique: Cream’s flight, Amy’s hammer, her Tag Actions, Cheese and the Trick Actions are simply an excellent mix, and while it takes a little while to get used to “switching” weapon, this team can be used for fluid gameplay.

4) Tails/Amy

If you have played the first Adventure, you’ll remember how fast Tails could go in that game. With the Jet Anklet, not even Sonic was match for him, and his levels were a joke.

I’m mentioning this because this Tails reminds me of how broken he was in Adventure. Sure, he lost the Spin Jump, but when you can fly twice as fast as normal, in all directions, without getting tired earlier, and holding a hammer that can defend you on the front and allow you to hammer springs in the air, does it even matter? In fact, Tails here is so obscenely OP that he overshadows Amy’s Tag Actions, which are already broken. If a level is spacious enough, and most are, he’ll snap it in half. This combination can even skip the entirety of Chaos Angel Act 3!

3) Knuckles/Amy

Forget Hyper Knuckles, this is Knuckles to his maximum power.

While he loses his Spin Jump and punches, Knuckles glides and climbs walls like usual, and gains two new moves. One is the Drill Claw, which is the equivalent of Sonic’s Bound Attack: this one is more useful, though, because it’s a Power move and therefore the only way to destroy Power barriers, since the hammer can’t.

The second one, which is the main reason this team is so high, is the Dash Climb: in short, it’s the ability to spin dash up walls. And I’m going to say it: the Dash Climb is to Knuckles what the Drop Dash is to Sonic. I resent the fact that this move has never returned and it’s hidden in a semi-obscure combination in a divisive handheld game. What a way to enhance Knuckles’ abilities! It absolutely destroys vertical acts like Sunset Hill Act 3 and the first two acts of Ocean Base! And then you add Amy’s Tag Actions and hammer, and this team becomes an excellent choice for exploration.

K/A and T/A are almost a tie for me, they’re both basically their leader powered up. Whether you prefer one or the other depends on whether you prefer Knuckles’ or Tails’ gameplay style. And while nyooming all over the place is really fun, I feel like K/A is faster.

2) Knuckles/Tails

Probably the most beloved team for casual playthroughs.

Everyone knows how OP K/T is. And much like C/A, it’s not just one broken move, it’s how everything mixes together. Knuckles’ only new moves when paired with Tails are a double jump before gliding, automatically extending the distance he can cover, and the Spiral Upper, a move with a taller hitbox than his normal punches and that can be used while running. To this, add the fact that he can glide, he can climb walls as usual (and you can climb faster by abusing the double jump), he can fly, he can be launched high into the air, he can swim, he can float, and he can break Power barriers.

In short, what makes it such a fan favorite is that it is literally many players’ dream come true: the best of Knuckles and the best of Tails mixed together in one package. The shortcomings of Knuckles’ gliding and climbing are compensated by Tails’ Tag Actions. It also helps that, unlike K/A, you can get this combination as early as the second level in the game. The one thing missing is going into Boost mode, but honestly, who needs speed when pretty much every aerial move is at your disposal?

1) Sonic/Cream

The speedrunning team.

For a long time, I put this team shortly below K/T, due to its lack of flight; but I realized that it doesn’t matter when this team is just sheer fun. While you can’t boost on your own like you can do with Sonic as your partner, every move here seems to be engineered to create the most utter sense of fluidity. Sonic can do a Jump Dash, which has nothing to do with Amy’s as it’s faster and offensive, and a great way to gain a burst of speed; if you Jump Dash near an enemy, you will do a Homing Attack; you can breathe underwater (although you can only discover this by replaying past levels); and you can of course use Cheese and Cream’s air boost, the latter of which becomes a force of nature when combined with Sonic’s natural momentum.

There are only a handful of occasions where Cream’s air boost is overshadowed by Tails’ or Amy’s Tag Action, literally the only downside. In the majority of the levels, from the fast Route 99 to the dangerous Chaos Angel, this combination is simply a delight, and the best reward for unlocking the cute bunny.
