REPOST: @artof_trentlindsey - Final version of my #robertdelong album mockup! My assignment was to create a visualization of how a selected artist's music makes me feel, with a unique cover design. What I did is pair myself with the "In the Cards" album, as with the push in the Tarot direction left a lot of room for interpretation. My major focus while I was sketching ideas, was to generate a moon (XVIII) & sun (XIX) relationship, and the concrete traits that follow the suit. The way Robert's music is interpreted by me is a harmonious blend of rhythm throughout the electronic diversity, all these voices seem to push in one clear direction, yet turn eccentric when the beats pick up during each track. Circling back to the moon and sun relationship, the tracks give a distinct sense and style to an Awakening theme. This can be grounded through my use of the illustrated human eye. . . 💥I absolutely love this recreation of "IN THE CARDS"! 10.5.15 Class Reflections

This week each student presented the research they had done on their wicked problems. It was great to see the inter-workings of the different current societal problems. It can be overwhelming talking about human trafficking, the flaws in the education system, the corporate media’s funding and broadcast of misinformation, the issues of food deserts and food health, all in one week. Then at the same time maybe part of the reason these issues are going on is because they are not talked about, and on the rare occasion of them being brought up we then feel overwhelmed and helpless. I am not saying that the educating of people on these sometimes hidden social issues, will be the fix to all the problems but if enough people know what is going on and even a small portion of those informed take action, this is when things will start to change. As Malcom Gladwell says in THE TIPPING POINT, “in any situation roughly 80% of the “work” will be done by 20% of the participants.” So while I am not sure if this one class at CCAD will be able to change the trajectory of say the flaws in the education system, but if not us then who? So though it may be small, isn’t it the few who lead the masses? Standing by is only participating in part of the problem and I think beginning by educating yourself is a damn good place to start a reform in society.

Finally, after an entire semester of work I have created the first draft of my personal art collection entitled “Marbles in the Walls”! It’s a hardback tome of freeform, nonsensical 30-Minute drabbles and sketches exploring the themes of creative stupors, childhood nightmares and existentialist humor. I plan on selling this book at the 2018 CCAD Art Fair but if anyone is interested in purchasing a copy before that I would love to hear from you! I hope you all can get lost along side me; Lost is the Best Place to Be, after all.
