I decided to practice in animal drawing (apart of ponies). And now you can see giraff colourful sketches. In my opinion, it's not bad because I hadn't drawn it before.

QOTD: what are your thanksgiving plans? I’m not doing a whole lot, just having dinner with family and hopefully seeing friends. Inky blobs- Before I left the house for my doctors appointment this morning I grabbed the first supplies I saw, as a result it was a very random assortment. A cheap tin of watercolors, some mixed media paper that was laying around, a partly filled water brush, and a pen. This is what I came up with while drawing in the indoor part of the rooftop garden after said appointment was done! A bunch of inky painted blobs, some from life, others from imagination. 'Painting The Windmill' 🎨 From the West Coast of LA, to the South East Coast of England. Once again I took the opportunity to sketch outdoors, painting both coasts within days of each other. 🌊 This time I only had to travel a short ride away from where I live in central Brighton. This is the Windmill which is a little further east along the coast, just outside the villages Roedean and Rottingdean. I got off the bus and walked up past the windmill and found a place to sit in the grass. I thought I was free of distractions when just as I started to sketch everything in, a photographer and a model turned up for a shoot, right in my line of vision. But I tuned them out quickly and focused. Painted alla prima watercolour & gouache on location, this is the result! Santa Monica Plein Air Sketch 🎨 After spending an amazing weekend meeting so many new artists, many of the pros who really inspire me, getting a number of portfolio reviews and of course learning from some of the very best artists in Illustration, fine art, film, animation and games from around the world, I decided to head to the coast to relax for a few hours and get out in nature.The last time I was here was in 2013. I jumped on a bus to Santa Monica for sunset to do some plein air sketching. I only had time for one, and it didn't take me long to find this spot right by the beach, looking at 'The Georgian Hotel'. Window Into The Caribbean 🐠🌴 If you were to visit a country in the Caribbean, where would you like to go? On my second to last stop in Colombia I visited the Caribbean island San Andrés, where I stayed with a Caribbean run family hostel. Historically the island had been tied to the U.K, and most people speak pretty good English, mixed with a blend of their own language and with a local(ish) Jamaican sounding accent. Lovely island and the people are friendly, laid back, funny and curious, just a shame about the alcohol abuse by many of the islanders throughout the day. I had a lot of fun joking with the head (mum) of the house and the rest of the family. I had to talk and paint in the hostel as the kids were far too curious about what I was doing. During my stay I completed a few plein air sketches, was up for sunrise most days and would run along the beach in the mornings, and then cool down in the shallow part of the sea with some more locals before going to get breakfast. One evening I ran around the island for about 45 minutes with the locals. Me and one other going all the way ahead of the group to the finish line with about 15 minutes to spare before everyone else arrived. Street Sketching in Colombia 🇨🇴 ✍🏻 A few months ago I was travelling alone through Colombia in South America. Eventually I arrived in the port city of Cartagena on Colombia’s carribean coast. The old town here was vibrant, colourful, and full of great opportunities to sketch and paint. Think cobblestone streets, historic and beautiful Spanish colonial buildings, fruit and veg markets stalls, and lots of interesting colour and light combinations from the architecture, decoration and design. On one of my days in Cartagena I went out to explore with my watercolour & gouache kit, and I found this little spot in the street, just by a restaurant where I could have a go at Sketching the famous old building in front of me. A Colombian woman who was walking past stopped and asked to take my photo, and she did with both my phone and hers.
