Redid the backgrounds. Added tumbleweeds, rocks and rundown billboards and pushed the perspectives. Redid all the flats and begun the shading and highlights. What do you guys think of this look/style? 😪🛤 I’m mentally exhausted ✍️💻 #photoshop #illustration #comicart #photoshopart #photoshoptutorials #comic #comicbooks #comiccolorist #comiccoloring #colorpalette #independentcomiccreators #independentcomics #2dart #nightsky #colourconstructor #ink #inkdrawing #mybrainhurts #digitalart #2danimation #conceptart #2dillustration #visualart #illustrations #adobephotoshop #procreate #digitalillustration (at Bronx, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-zyHxvHmc_/?igshid=192x3hjqr6l

If you're still struggling with color theory (like me) I use this really nice program called ColourConstructor that automatically picks the correct colors for you depending on the main color source you pick. Here's a video tutorial on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VKpxiZsh0Y
You can get the program here: https://muzzface.gumroad.com/l/ColorConstructor
Hi! I saw someone else ask about foliage brushes and for a follow up to that, how do you pick the colors you use for your backgrounds and plants? Do have color palates you go back to, use references, or kinda go with whatever works? I struggle with choosing the right colors and I love the color choice you've all made so that's why I was curious. Thank you for your time!! :D
While I do use references for basic locations and sometimes color palettes, it's good to learn color theory and learn how different colors set different moods, and what colors mean symbolically (it varies from culture to culture). You can learn a lot by studying different color scripts too. Because you can learn how they use specific colors to set the stage for the scene. (Disney's Bambi is very good at this. The point of their movie scenes isn't to be realistic, it's about getting an emotion across.)
Colors also depend on lighting. Naturally you can take artistic liberty with lighting, as long as it looks neat. But if you're using natural lighting or artificial lighting, that'll dictate what colors everything else is gonna be. (This tutorial is helpful but it seems a bit overwhelming [X]) But just keep in mind that contrary to The Lion King 2019, the world is a really vibrant and colorful place. So don't be afraid to exaggerate the color in your scenes.
I wish I could find this old tutorial on colors setting moods in backgrounds. But it's old, and I'm not even entirely sure how to search for it. But this video is also kinda helpful [X]
Sorry if this advice is a bit all over the place. But I hope it helps point you in the right direction.

Just bought colour constructor and it's the best program. If you're having problems figuring out shades of color or where to place a lighting or any color problems, this program is bomb. God Bless them #colourconstructor #drawing #colors #art

I wanted to test ColourConstructor - a program that shows you what do different colors look like under a colorful light source. I decided the best way to do that is to place a character under a rainbow colored stained glass. Dimitris volunteered to be my test subject (not that I ask my OCs how they want to be drawn). =D But he had black clothes, so I had to remove those. I hope you enjoy my drawing of half naked Di! XD Well, it doesn't even count as NSFW, but I usually don't draw him naked. He has to maintain his status of a vampire lord, you know.

Learning how to (really) color and all the photoshop tricks ✍️in the 2020 version has made my brain into mush. I’m feeling frustrated like my son when a project is not coming out the way I want it. 😑😪😭I’m calling it. I need a break. #photoshop #photoshopfail #comicart #photoshopart #photoshoptutorials #comic #comicbooks #comiccolorist #comiccoloring #colorpalette #independentcomiccreators #independentcomics #sunset #nightsky #colourconstructor #ink #inkdrawing #mybrainhurts #crossroads (at Spuyten Duyvil) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-tkHgwnx_d/?igshid=9fhgihsbxosm
