I’m so excited to be cosplaying as Eren again! As some of you may remember I started this blog at 14 as an in character cosplay blog called moveslikejeager 😳 ! So needless to say seven years later I’m so so so so so soooo excited to be doing this again!
Cheers to chapter 139 in just a few days 🥂🥂 the ride isn’t over yet, but I’ve still had so much fun in the aot fandom and I think the joy it gave me as a kid should be celebrated.
In the beginning I began cosplaying as Eren and Jean with an old friend of mine who cosplayed as Mikasa and Marco, they are Mikasa above. (I’m the Eren Carla has their hand on, and I’m not sure who anyone else is to be honest, sorry!) We made a tradition of going into the little restaurant at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus and getting chocolate cake together. Tb to the time I was cosplaying Jean and neighed really loud into my glass cup to be obnoxious!
There was an Erwin cosplayer who hosted the aot photo shoot at Colossalcon in 2015? I don’t remember a lot from the shoot other than how happy the Erwin was that finally, in like three years it didn’t rain during his photo shoot!
I haven’t cosplayed in a really long time it feels like, so my aot community lately has been the Jearmin community on Twitter! They’re all so nice and wonderful. They’re all so creative and I couldn’t ask for a more exciting group to be able to watch flourish!!!
So as this all comes closer to the end, I just want to yell a “thank you” into the void.

all the numbers u haven't done
roleplaying habits questions.
1. what’s a grammar rule you find yourself breaking or ignoring a lot?
Offhand I can’t really think of anything?? English is my first language so I don’t knowingly break any grammar rules anyway. Unless possible excessive use of commas counts bc I use commas a lot.
2. are there any languages besides english in which you think you could comfortably roleplay?
Unless Gibberish counts bc I learned that stupid crack language back when I was a kid but good lord I would not have the patience to actually type out a reply like that.
3. how often do you reach for a synonym dictionary when writing? how about mentally?
Sometimes but not too frequently. Depends on how flowery I’m trying to write something or if I’m thinking of a word but I don’t like the first descriptive word that came to mind for what I’m trying to express.
4. how often do you need to translate your own or the other’s writing with a dictionary or google when writing and reading replies?
Never tbh. Especially since I don’t RP in any other languages, all my RP partners have a good enough grasp on English that I can always tell what they were at least trying to say in their reply.
5. do you listen to music while your write?
I used to need music playing in the background to help me focus on doing drafts, but nowadays I need more silence than anything to help focus and produce what I think is a quality response to a longer thread. Short one or two liner things idc what’s in the background.
6. do you have ideal writing circumstances when you can do a lot of drafts or tackle really long ones very easily?
I can fluctuate with when I best write. Typically I write better at night when the house is quiet and any noise happening in the house is a noise I make, but I’ve had writing inspiration hit me at any time of the day before.
7. are you a morning, day, evening, or night writer?
Bold of you to assume I’m awake during morning hours that don’t include 5 AM bc I’m still awake haha. When I’m not swamped with commissions to do I typically write better during the day or at night when I’m the only person awake in the house and I don’t have any outside distractions from a person IRL.
8. how does tiredness affect your writing?
Not overly so sometimes, I know there’ve been times in the past where I powered through replies even though I wanted to go to bed just because I was riding the motivation train and I didn’t want to lose it and not get to those last replies for who knows how long. But on Discord at least I often have reply to Discord threads be one of the last things I do before I go to sleep so I go to bed knowing I don’t owe anyone a reply on there.
9. have you ever written a serious reply intoxicated?
Not a serious reply anyway. I’ve been on the dashboard before while intoxicated (ColossalCon East was a prime example haha) but I’ve never really RP’d while that intoxicated
10. how much do you proof-read as you are writing vs. proof-read at the end?
I’ll proof read as I go but also give it one last read before I actually hit publish.
11. when you are writing a reply, how much ahead in the thread do you plan?
Entirely depends on the thread. I could write it on the fly or I could have days to think about it from external factors keeping me from getting to the reply as soon as it comes back to me.
12. is there ever been a time when you’ve had to drop a roleplaying partner because you’ve found their writing style exhausting?
Yes actually, gather round for RP horror storytime haha. Flash back to 2013 while I was still in the Black Butler fandom. I stupidly decided to give writing Sebastian a try at the request of a Ciel I’d made friends with (probably through my old Alois or Lizzie blog). She was a nice enough girl, close enough to my age so she seemed plenty mature, and had been what I thought was a good enough writer to warrant trying my hand at a muse I wouldn’t have otherwise thought to try. Legit within days of me making the Sebastian blog she was getting super clingy in her IC posts making Ciel a whiny baby missing Sebastian, would try and guilt me in IC posts to get on and write with her, and I dealt with it for about two weeks before I deleted Sebastian’s blog without warning and deleted the girl off Skype. To this day it’s the only blog I think I’ve ever consciously deleted.
13. does writing roleplay things in public spaces make you uncomfortable?
Not really? I wouldn’t be crazy about a stranger reading over my shoulder while I was writing bc that’s just weird, but I’ve gone to Starbucks or one of the local malls before on my off days (back when I was still at my last job) and I’d do RP stuff there just to get out of the house.
14. how often do you need to change the icon in your reply while or after writing the reply?
Typically I don’t put in icons until I’m done writing the reply unless I go into the reply knowing exactly which one I want to use, or think of a good one while I’m writing it out.
15. do you first get in the “zone” when writing, or do you start writing and “enter” it that way?
Nowadays I just start writing and then get into the zone after I get the first reply done. Discord replies I can chug out any time of day without difficulty, but for whatever reason Tumblr I have to be in the right mindset for.
16. what is your biggest obstacle to writing every day, if time doesn’t count?
Back when I was at my last job, it would be getting a lot of writing muse while I was busy at work and unable to get on my own laptop or sneak onto Tumblr on an office computer and at least type out the bulk of a reply (yes I was employee of the month many times haha), and by the time I was able to get to my own computer or be safe enough to get on a work computer, that writing muse would be gone.
17. what’s your inbox count currently? what did you do to get it so high/low?
Right now I have 15 IC asks. I won’t lie, two of them are from last years Valentine’s Day bc I was away at Katsucon at the time of receiving them and by the time I got home I still just never got around to answering the asks, but I didn’t want to delete them either so I just kept them for posterity. Some are from this past Christmas that I was terrible and haven’t answered yet bc I’ve been so swamped with commissions, some are from other random meme’s I’ve reblogged and gotten an ask or two for and also just never got around to. I’m horrible at replying to asks most of the time and I know it but I always appreciate whenever people take the time to send me an IC one.
18. how many drafts is a paralysing amount?
I’d guess I’d say over 15 like para thread replies would make me be like -insert meme song- ‘how could this happen to meeeee’. I’m not quite at that point yet but I’ll get there eventually if I’m not careful lol.
19. if you are writing a wrong reply that’s not working out, do you save what you have to be continued at another date, or do you scrap it and rewrite?
Usually I would just draft what I have and go back to it. I can’t remember the last time I scrapepd an unfinished draft and completely rewrote it.
20. longest reply you’ve ever writen on mobile?
N/A because I don’t do replies on mobile. I’ll send asks on mobile but I never reply to actual IC things while on my phone unless it’s something stupid and cracky or one-liner-ish.
21. does the total amount of threads you have going on matter to you, or just how many you owe?
Doesn’t really matter. I can have one thread with one person, I could have five threads with one person. @shinvcho is an example of the latter lol
22. what’s your thought process when you format? any unspoken rules you follow?
I’ve kept to the same formatting for years and years tbh. I’m too lazy to do excessive formatting beyond italicizing and/or bolding specific words for emphasis and spacing out the start of a new paragraph. Anything more than that to me is just tedious and unnecessary; I don’t want to make it difficult for my partners to read.
23. how does your follower count affect your mood?
Anyone who says they don’t appreciate or enjoy even a small spike in followers is a liar, because we live in an age where validation is held in high regard and it feels good to get the validation of seeing more people enjoy what we do on our blogs enough to put us on their dashboards. But it also doesn’t really matter to me when I lose followers because I have a mutual checker so I can unfollow a mutual back if they did so first so I don’t feel uncomfy still following someone who no longer wanted me on their dash lol.
#ooc#THIS IS WHY I QUESTIONED HOW MUCH U ACTUALLY LOVE ME I HAD TO DO BASICALLY ALL OF THEM LOL#creturae

13. What's your funniest cosplay story? - Funny to me, its become something of a tradition for my twin and her friends to wake me up at 1am to bring them food or go to IHOP or something like that because they’ve been drinking, and they know I am sober. Does not matter where, or if I tell them not to, they still do it. And won’t stop calling me until I give in.
14. What's the best in-character interaction you've ever had? - Wore my Jack Frost cosplay to the Ren. Faire once (it was cold, it actually worked) and a little girl saw me and started jumping around because she could see me (and you better believe I played along with it). was so cute.
16. What is your favorite cosplay photo of yourself? - Keyleth, from Critical Role, down at Colossalcon East - X

A response to this post.
So I’m going to lay down a few facts for you.
One big claim in general about Vic is that he is very rude to con staff and has been banned from many cons for his rudeness, most notably megacon. This rumour has been floating around for years- at the very least before 2012, as this post very similar to what I’m about to say is dated. For one, he’s never been banned from megacon. In fact, he’ll be present there this upcoming year, 2015. Another con I’ve seen cited as one he’s been banned from is Zenkaikon which he was at in 2011, and after searching their website there is no evidence he was banned from it.
Another huge claim is that he’s homophobic and abhors yaoi. I think this video says it all (and to be honest his impression of really gross con-goers is hilarious but is surely offensive to some, and he does use the r-slure but that’s a completely different matter). Here’s another video with him essentially saying the same thing. It’s totally within his right to NOT enjoy and sign NSFW artworks, and it is not necessary for him to enjoy something just because his fans do. He even SAYS he has no problem with his fans liking yaoi. It’s also within his right to see the characters he plays as certain sexualities- just because you see a show as being about a bunch of gays doesn’t mean everyone sees it that way.
Now as for in general being homophobic, if his relatively kind words aren’t enough for you, here’s an interview (with related video) where he straight up says that he’s not homophobic. Just as well, here is a gay wolf erotica that he narrated, if him saying he’s not homophobic isn’t enough for you. Now, while I get hearing that from a christian male doesn’t seem that believable to you guys, but it’s far more believable than making a claim with no proof. There have literally been no actual instances of him saying homophobic things/claiming to not like homosexual people other than him saying he doesn’t like yaoi and that he feels his characters are straight- amazingly, two things that are completely subjective and that we can’t really judge him on! (also, take note: being a christian doesn’t automatically make you an asshole!!!)
Another big claim is that Vic sexually harasses people, which I’ll let you decide for yourself. All I know is there are no actual news stories containing claims of his sexual harassment- just angry tumblr blogs and rumours. Just google it. Click “news” if you dare. What I know is that three of my friends (two of which who I presently live with) met Vic at Chisaiicon 2011, all three females wearing relatively skimpy cosplays. They claim he was very polite and made no advances towards them, and they heard no rumors of his harassment. However, as stated, this issue is to be determined by you, the reader- I, personally, choose to stay with facts and away from rumour.
In short, if there’s no evidence against someone, don’t be a dick, and don’t spread rumours. Just because you think an anime about swimming dudes is all gay all the time doesn’t mean everyone does. Peace.
1) I can confirm that the staff at Mega loves Vic, they have him every year, and he’s quite fond of the management there, they all have a great relationship. I know because I work with him at that con personally. 2) To add a specific example of how the sexual harassment rumors spread; A popular cosplayer ( hythe/mangosirene ) posted into his tag that she ‘Saw Vic Mignogna all-out groping a group of 14 year old girls in the wave pool’ at Colossal Con 2013. She has a HUGE amount of followers and many of them took it for gospel. In 2014, I was one of Vic’s guest relations handlers at Colossalcon and saw her post floating around the top of the current tag. I mistakenly thought it was a recent post, and because we had never even been to the wave pool that con, his other handler and I decided to let her know that her claim couldn’t be true. Post located HERE. She was very gracious about the timeline error and admitted that she would love to know if what she saw was somehow inaccurate. We contacted Vic directly and he set the record straight himself. Not only was he with personal friends, but no one was underage, no one got groped, NOTHING she had posted was the truth. One of the girls that was there with him that year very clearly denounced the rumor as false. Follow up post HERE. We posted screencaps of the conversations and alerted Hythe that we had cleared it up. She thanked my friend for clearing up the unsettling rumor in her ask box, but she never reblogged the correction to her followers. In short, she caused a rumor, learned it was false, and never publicly corrected herself or set the record straight to all of the followers she told the rumor to in the first place. It is so easy to spread a rumor, especially on tumblr where all you have to do is mindlessly reblog it. Please don’t do that. Look into it yourself if you want to know the truth, feel free to form your own opinion about a person’s acting, etc - but slander and gossip are NOT opinions. Think first.
To the RWBY FNDM: this is relevant.
Accept the truth Tumblr! You may not like him but it’s no excuse to slander him!

State Of The Shewp Early 2017
Talking about things, and stuff. Prepare for rambling, disjointed sentences.
So. Lots of stuff happened this year. Almost all of it was pretty darn good!
Things that are still the same from the last time I posted one of these: Still living in Detroit. Still living with Anastasia. Still telling dad-joke tier puns all the time.
I’m working at a steel mill now. It’s pretty cool, and by that I mean my desk is generally within ~100 feet of several hundred tons of lava at any given moment.
Actually, that’s not quite accurate. Molten steel is much, much hotter than lava.
I have fancy aluminized protective equipment and everything, so I can get real up-close to it too. It was kind of scary at first, but now the biggest annoyance is the fact that I have to wash my car every week or two or it gets super stained with ash (which is apparently mildly corrosive).
Currently interviewing for a management position in the same company. I don’t think I’ll get it - there are some other people applying for the same one that are more qualified - but it’s nice that they considered offering it to me in the first place. Not entirely sure what the long-term plan is on the job front. You always hear people talking about a ‘five year plan’ but I generally don’t know what I’ll be doing in five hours, let alone multiple years.
I bought my first car just a week or so ago! Until now I have been driving a 2002 Prius that my folks let me borrow, but just a couple of weeks ago I got a brand new Ford Focus! It was a leftover 2016 model that never sold, so I got a pretty good deal on it. Mostly, it’s nice to have a car that I can actually hook an mp3 player up to (the Prius had a cassette player). This also goes hand-in-hand with a few other things I’ve never done before, like buy car insurance. I guess that’s one more box I can check off on my ‘trick everyone into thinking I’m a real responsible adult’ list.
It’s kind of weird, at some point I stopped getting (as) excited about buying things like video games, and now I’m thinking ‘wow, I have a complete set of matching pots and pans, this is fucking sweet’ or ‘gee wiz I am super excited to buy a new desk’.
I finally managed to finish an RPG campaign that I was running. Elder Scrolls setting, FATE for the system. I learned a lot about telling a story, but man is DMing hard! I have one more ongoing one right now, superhero themed. This one doesn’t have as concrete of a stopping point as the last, so I’ll just keep it going until people get bored, I think. Currently, I’m playing in a separate superhero themed game and an Exalted game. I think I’d like to try a little more 5E at some point. I got a taste of it a year or so ago, but I’ve heard nothing but good things.
Picked up WoW again with Anastasia when the new Xpac came out. It was really fun for a while but eventually we just kind of lost interest. Final Fantasy 14 is fun but different. I’m sticking with it at least until I’ve gotten to the endgame. The leveling experience has been pretty good, but ever since Cataclysm I just haven’t been able to enjoy raiding.
DOOM was really, really fun. I definitely recommend it if you like shooters. Pulsar: Lost Colony has been quite a bit of fun, but the need to have at least 4 people to really do it right is a bit of a restrictive factor. Saints Row 4 was completely looney and I loved every minute of it. XCOM and XCOM 2 were also a blast. Fallout 4 was fun, but kinda eh. Never actually beat it, since the ending was so disappointing. The GECK for mods and some DLC is out now though, so I should probably give it another try. I was also really, really into Overwatch for a while, but the fact that I am an irredeemable terribaddie kept me from getting in too deep. Payload? What Payload?
I got to reconnect with a friend I hadn’t spoken to for a few years. Glad we’re talking again, Jake.
Haven’t done much new cosplay. I have tons of fun ideas, but no time to actually pull them off. Some of that is a bit of laziness, but some of that is the simple fact that I have TONS OF INCREDIBLY TALENTED, FANTASTICALLY GOOD-LOOKING COSPLAYING FRIENDS (seriously, you’re all so awesome) and it just seems like the bar is set super high, so it’s tough to get started. I’ll get over it eventually >.<
Semi-related to cosplay, with Colossalcon just down the road I started going to the gym again a few months ago. 2 days a week, 3 if I can make it. I used to go in the morning before work, but I already wake up at 4:30 most days and getting up even earlier destroyed me. So now I go in the afternoons, which has its own challenges - dragging myself there after a 12 hour day is hard - but I think it’s a bit more manageable. I used to almost be able to bench-press my own body weight, which might not sound super impressive but it was a big deal for me since I’ve always been on the scrawny side of things. I’m slowly getting there again, a little bit at a time.
I discovered that I am very fond of tequila, and hummus. Not at the same time though! I’ve even started getting lettuce on my sandwiches, which may seem like a really small tiny thing but I’m trying new stuff, ok? I’ve always been super picky about food.
I started seeing a therapist a few weeks ago. Between moving super far away from pretty much all of my friends and family, the huge change between being in school and working full time, stress from this particular job, and a few more long term depression things... It was and continues to be a good choice for me. I was pretty resistant to the idea of going at first, and I still feel sort of... weak? for doing it, but I know that’s not a healthy attitude to have. I didn’t even want to include it in this post, but I think just saying it is at least a good step, right?
Finally (because I like to save the biggest news for last), I did something pretty crazy. I proposed to Anastasia on New Years Eve! @sheshaventures must be at least a little nutty too though, because she said yes <3
Thirty minutes after popping the question, we got in a car accident. We were both fine, but some chucklefuck hit us and then peeled out, running a red light to get away while we sat dazed on the side of the road (they knocked us over the curb and off the street). Fortunately, some random bystander saw it, chased them down, and got their licence plate number so we could report it to the police. Unfortunately, the person in question claimed that ‘they were at a party and an unknown person took their car and caused the crash’, so we weren’t able to take them to court or anything. The most important thing is that we’re fine though, even if I was (and still am) mightily pissed off about it.
But even a car accident couldn’t ruin my mood that night! I’m going to get married. Do you have any idea how completely unfathomable that was a couple of years ago? I would have given you a divide by zero error.
We don’t have a wedding date yet (’When is your wedding’ is the new ‘Oh when do you graduate’ or ‘Oh where do you work’ of annoying questions relatives always ask now), but it’ll probably be some time in early 2018.
Overall, I rate 2016 and early 2017 as 8/10. Lots of awesome stuff in my life, with a few points docked for the rest of the country/world going absolutely bugfuck insane (see any major news network for why).

Anime Conventions You Can Attend Online in 2020
With SARS-CoV-2 continuing to shut down events and businesses, and the potential of a second wave coming later in the year, anime conventions have needed to adapt and consider the safety of bringing large groups of people close together.
As a result, many conventions have shut down for the year, promising to return next time, some have been postponed to see if the COVID-19 situation changes, and others have moved to virtual conventions to adapt to the current environment. For example, our own Crunchyroll Expo is now a virtual convention scheduled for September 4-6.
With all of the confusion and rapid changes though, it’s difficult to know what conventions are still going to happen at all in 2020. To help out, here’s a list of every anime convention still happening this year, including when it’s occurring and a link to its website for more information. Check back for updates as situations change.
Without further adieu, here are the remaining conventions still scheduled to happen in some form during 2020:
Anime Expo Lite
“Anime Expo is the largest anime con around, with over 100,000 fans in attendance. Grab your friends, craft your cosplay, and get ready to experience anime like never before.” When/Where: July 3-4; Virtual Website
Aniplex Fest Online
“The festival will feature a diverse array of online content including talk shows with the staff and cast from popular anime, special appearances and past live shows from music artists, and behind-the-scenes stories from the anime industry!” When/Where: July 4-5; Virtual Website
OokiiSoraCon
