Today’s theme for “Color Me Valentine” is Broadway Babe! So, I made an outfit inspired by Elphaba, considering I already made an outfit based on Galinda for another challenge. 

I actually love both characters and I think they compliment each other well. I also love their songs in the musical, especially the last one “For Good”, but this set was inspired by the showstopper that is “Defying Gravity.” The emotion in that song... I get goosebumps every time.

Visiting Dsney Springs in my mind today with @colormemagic We don't always make it to Disney Springs because Tom and I are park hopping addicts, but whenever I'm in Orlando with Brian, I head to the Springs for food, photos, and wandering (mostly because Brian doesn't always have a park ticket🤣). I decided to join the Color Me Park Hopper challenge on IG. I was not originally planning to, but then I started to get outfit ideas for some of the prompts, and I just knew I had to do the entire challenge.

Today’s theme is “Magic Kingdom”. Being a Walt Disney World fan (I wrote my master’s thesis on the subject), I had to make an outfit inspired by the park’s centrepiece, Cinderella’s Castle. So, I created a casual outfit based on Cinderella’s ball outfit.

The top and skirt are obviously of the colours of the ball gown. Because glass slippers are hard to come by and not so comfortable to explore the park in, I decided to go for silver flats. The black choker, pearl earrings, and blue headband are reminiscent of the accessories Cinderella wears with her ballgown in the movie. Finally, the backpack is a wink at the pink dress she wears before her step-sisters destroy it, which leads to the intervention of her fairy godmother and the creation of her iconic outfit. 

Fun fact: In kindergarten, we did a play based on the Disney movie, and I played Cinderella in her pink dress (there were three Cindrellas, one for each outfit).

Reliving our honeymoon this morning on stories and here! Day whatever (I threw counting out the window after 2 weeks of staying at home) of @colormemagic #colormeparkhopper is international parks! When Brian and I were planning our honeymoon, I gave him 5 regional choices from which to choose. Europe, China, Japan, California, or the Caribbean by way of Florida. Regardless of where we went, a 3-day stop in a Disney park was non-negotiable. We eventually decided on Europe with 3 nights in Paris, 2 nights in DLP, 4 nights in Ghent, Belgium, and our last night in Brussels. DISNEY CRUISES ARE GOD TIER! I was able to visit one of the Boats last year. And that experience alone was amazing and ICONIC in every way possible! I never thought I would actually get on the boat and now all I want to do is go on a Disney Cruise! 🥺🛳✨ They’re unlike anything I could ever describe! They’re so magical on their own way. And if you check out @colormemagic’s story, she shares a lot about her experience and also everyone she shares. It’s GRANDEUR! I got to visit about every inch of that boat and every aspect of it is so magical. I told myself that if someone gave me a choice between a WDW trip or a DISNEY CRUISE, I would 100/10 choose a Disney Cruise.⠀ ⠀ My Top 5 Favorite Moments of Disney Cruise:⠀ -THE FOOD, THE FOOD, THE FOOD!!! 😋⠀ -The Aquaduck is THE MOST FUN EXPERIENCE 🌊⠀ -The service is unlike anything you actually deserve 🏩⠀ -The THEATER is just like Broadway but on a SHIP! ����⠀ -The magic hidden everywhere on the ship. Halle Bailey is #myariel @frosinfantasyland via @colormemagic asked me to participate in this #colormemermaid project so I decided to do a disneybound! The Little Mermaid is one of my favorites and I am so happy that Halle was cast as Ariel! Growing up I loved Ariel and seeing someone like Halle is everything I’ve dreamed of. I never thought I could dress like her because I wasn’t white. I’d seen the hurtful and hateful comments towards people of color cosplaying white characters. I was a child when the movie came out and wasn’t until I was well into adulthood and through Disneybounding and the welcoming community that I finally got the courage to cosplay her. My nieces and nephew get to grow up with representation and characters that are the same as them and/or look like them! Right now they have T’Challa and Miles Morales (they’re also Puerto Rican and Black!) and adding Ariel is amazing! They’ll hopefully never have the same feelings or thoughts I did growing up never seeing anyone that looked like me. Representation really does matter. Would I like more, original characters that are POC? Yes of course and hopefully this leads to that.
