The moment I read 2.1.45, I knew I had to draw this lady. Exams can be worried about later.

Also, I realised too late that the little triangles on the chimera's head are probably horns. If Red sees this, I sincerely apologise for the cat ears.

SHES BACK!!!! Aurora is my collector oc that i made after the reveal of the collector and I've rekindled my love for her after some redesign doodles. Close-up under the cut.

She was another kind of challenge, but a challenge nonetheless 👀 This time I wanted to stray from the usual sweet expression, and went more with a "bratty" one 😁

Problem is, when trying to achieve it, it's so easy to actually step into "evil smile" territory 🤣

This repaint was actually my second attempt, after the first one I decided to take a day or two to really study her mold, and finally get what wasn't working...In the end, I went the hard way, and partially resculpted her face, while afraid to ruin a LE head, I knew I wouldn't have been satisfied otherwise, go big or go home basically 😅

For the dress, I've mostly kept the original concept in mind, with the same colors I remember from the VHS (the palette of the outfit on the restored version is too gray for my taste, give me the cream, the turtle dove, the beige, the maroon!!), saving the tiny spinning wheel embroidery on the corset...it seems like this doll has been one big experiment from start to finish 👀

In the end, I love how she turned out, and most of all I'm glad I didn't give up on the expression, I really hate to take the easy way, I know it would have frustrated me too much to leave untouched 😵‍💫

Better make that kind of decision at the start of the process than at the end 🫠

oh I just realized that the Big Water Snake can't be a dragon because then Light and Void would spend the rest of the fight fighting over who can control it. both can control dragons. That or it would appear for a page and one of them would tell it to go away/ void does his whole corruption thingy and no more sea dragon.

Just got my little sister hooked on the Aurora comic. I had a page of it open as I was about to get to work on studying for a quiz, and she thought the art was super cool. She then promptly asked to read it from the beginning. It turned into a full hour excursion and we’re onto chapter four.

We’ve got this thing where when we read a comic together we read it aloud and we each get to voice various characters so I’ll have a post later about how I think the characters sound to give you a proper breakdown of things there.

Here are a few conclusions she’s reached:

The Collector is hot but evil

Alinua is beautiful and has never done anything wrong

Kendal is very cool and looks great with a ponytail

She wants to be part wind elf like the magistrate of Windscrest

Erin is “that guy” and she can’t wait to see more of him

there are a lot of words in this that she doesn’t know but she’s beginning to understand them

Conclusions I Have Reached:

Erin is my favorite still. I was actually so giddy when I got to read his part in Chapter 3.

My sister probably likes women

This comic has been so good even from the beginning. I started reading this a couple of years ago and the beginning details were a little vague for me but upon rereading it, like oh my gosh it’s so good

Kendal and Alinua have been so good for each other since the start. Ride or die besties and I am living for it.

Red’s metallic effects have gotten much better from when she initially drew Tess.

I can analyze and explain what’s going on here so much better than I could when I initially read the comic and I can appreciate the story that’s being woven more and more

So the Aurora server was discussing Collector/Jolon again and then at the local pool while lying face down in an inner tube this dialog wrote itself in my head and then- I’m gonna stop defending myself. It’s fucking collectolon

POV you have to comfort your weird little manthing because the scary adventurers came back and tried to hurt you and he got really upset
