Cold Brewing in Dubai

I started down the journey of cold brewing after joining the Cold Bruer project on Kickstarter. First brew came out watery and I sort of gave up after the first try.

Decided to give it a go again, this time using some good Colombian medium roast, coarse grind from More Cafe. First batch came out pretty good, a deep, moody brown, and off it went into the fridge for a good chill overnight.

Fast forward to half hour back, came home from a sweltering 44°C outside, and pulled a 30-70 mix of brew and cold water, no sweeteners, just so I could get a proper taste of the coffee - it’s good. Like really good.

It’s got a medium bodied nose, some initial fruitness on the palate, followed by a brief but pleasant bitterness that lingers, and the lack of acidity really distinguishes this from a hot brew that’s been refrigerated.

Perfect for the Dubai summer then :)

My first attempt with #PadreCoffee for my #ColdBrew concoction! ~22hrs #steeping: ~85g of a coarsely grinded #Colombian #ElTambo #filter #roast in ~1.2L of water! The Verdict: I'm on a morning heaven #coffee cloud! Yep! Excellent, refreshing, fruity and strong 😁👍☕ Conclusion: my setup is good, just needed the right beans, freshly roasted from a key source! lucky me to be living in #Melbourne! Next: - Shall I now make the #brew stronger? Say ~100g of this dark brown gold!!! - Get myself a #ColdDrip apparatus like the #ColdBruer, while waiting for the #Arctic to arrive sometime in May/June and #CUB's 15-Minute Cold Brew Coffee System to graduate from #Kickstarter! #BrunswickEast #Lygon @PadreCoffee #Bruer #Pixel (at Brunswick East)
