One of my favorite things to do on an interior styling project are the coffee tables. I set out to style this Noguchi coffee table 3 different ways. Here is the 3rd way... My inspiration for this one was a well traveled photographer. I incorporated a variety of elements from his travels. This color palette of browns, black & naturals was the goal. The Crate & Barrel suede area rug gave us our different neutral color choices to draw from. The Sleek black lamp can be pivoted to any point of the table for light. I then chose this cool brown vintage camera which was a NY antique shop find. I always love one or a few good coffee table books. In this set-up, I chose 5 different photo books laid out on the table without trying to overwhelm it. I created a table tray utilizing a round ceramic decorative plate from his travels through Mexico. This truly grounds & organizes items like the diptyque candle, modern round vase & matches I chose. The other tray holds a vibrant succulent plant along side a feather & horn-ended magnifying Lupe. Highlighting a coin engraved saying “Let’s Stay In”. :-) Adjacent to the tray, I put some other personal mementos scattered about like a cognac colored leather frame with his wedding photo in it. Also a monogrammed notepad that is propped up on a African inspired tray. The piece of drift wood was found on Zuma beach & it just added a natural architectural element to the whole look. Styling Tip: A NEUTRAL COLOR PALETTES CAN BE LAYERED W/ TEXTURE & SHAPES TO CREATE MORE INTEREST. #styledbypiamalatesta #coffeetablestories #neutralcolorpalette #stylingcoffetables #interiorstylinginspo #casitaola #noguchitable #worldphotographer #coffeetablebooks #RichardAvedonportraits #richardavedon #robertfrank #theamericans #drivebyshootings #davidbradford #Magnum #Russellmiller #photographersonphotography # Nathanlyons #styledbypiamalatesta (at Point Dume) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_N02NnjEyi/?igshid=t0717tjllfc7

One of my favorite things to style on a project are the coffee tables. Here I’m styling this Noguchi table 3 different ways. This is the 2nd way I styled it. My inspiration here was a fashion “It girl” vibe. I started with this orange, Italian vintage table lamp we sourced from Mexico City as the color inspiration. Then, I centered the book “30 years of Fashion at Vogue” by Grace C. that played nicely. I also added a small black vase with this yellow Pom Pom branch for texture & life along side other stacked fashion books like “Face Hunter”, “The World According to Karl” & topped the book stack w/ Missoni journals to inspire daily entries. The 2 purposefully staggered Missoni plates added as catch-all trays for personal items. Finally a relaxing alter of such containing a candle, sage, palo santo & fancy black “ Burn Brightly” matches from @skeemdesign finish off this coffee table look. #coffeetablestories #stylingcoffeetable #coffeetablestyling #fashioninspiration #interiorstylingbypia #styledbypiamalatesta #interiorstylinginspo #casitaola #madewithlove #livinginstyle #stylishlife #noguchicoffeetable #coffeetable3ways #malibu #californialiving (at Malibu, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_GMd1kJkJ9/?igshid=mtj57cpg59ge

One of my favorite things to style on a project are the coffee tables. It’s a chance to tell your guests what personalities inhabit the space. I styled this very stylish on it’s own - Noguchi coffee table 3 different ways. The first way, I got my inspiration from surf culture. I started with a book we recently picked up @adam.mar this very well curated surf shop in Montauk we love! The book is called “Aloha to Zen”. Then I added this flat whale vertebrae my husband brought back from a trip near Greenland. The brown beads are from a very good friends wedding. The field trimming was gifted to us by my mother-in law on a Xmas gift last year. The wood log with a burned tip & feather in it is from the Woolsey Fire (we just survived last year.) We wanted to remind ourselves how lucky we are daily by keeping it. I added a candle from @oliviablakelondon & these “burn brightly” matches from our local @gethigherstandards shop. Lastly, I added this cactus dinosaur to be playful & to remind us of our last road trip to Austin where I got it on S. Congress by our hotel. All these personal items combined give us a feeling of inspiration & remind us of inspirational times. #interiorstyling #coffeetablestories #noguchicoffetable #casitaolaproject #beachhouse #coffeetablestyling #styledbypiamalatesta #noguchitable (at Malibu, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_A7az6Jlm-/?igshid=1ioov9bl1hc60
