I think recently I've been avoiding slowing down — maybe hiding from my feelings a little, from having to sit with my thoughts — but the last few days everything has been so overwhelming and upsetting that I just wanted to be at home. And it's been a welcome moment of peace: the hum of the radio, rain smattering the windows outside, the record player crackling on a loop after the album ends. J bakes biscuits, makes coffee, dances around the kitchen doing silly voices and making me laugh. Still very teary and fragile but trying to take that and make it into something good

I did a presentation today and my cat decided she would sit with me and meow every so often, she doesn’t like to feel left out. I hope no one watching the presentation minded 😸

I'm thinking of quitting coffee bc of the hormonal imbalance & my shaky hands lol let's see how long it will last? Or at least decrease my caffeine intake, I feel like it isn't even helping me with waking up anymore.

Had tickets for a concert but it got cancelled :( as a cheer-me-up I visited my local coffee shop today only to discover they had coffee berry tea. (Is that the correct term? The shells of the beans I mean🫘)

It has a very woody, earthy nose with a few vegetal notes but the taste is quite subtle. It’s like Hibiscus and Rooibos had a child - you have the same sour note as hibiscus often has but also light, roasted aromas. It doesn’t bear much resemblance to coffee, and it’s a more mature, fruity profile than tea. It has a very sweet finish, surprisingly!

Coffee and donuts from last weekend. Tried a new place & an old favourite. On the left - Strange Love Coffee, on the right - Through Being Cool Vegan Baking Co. Also, finally found a DELICIOUS VEGAN CREAM CHEESE !!!! The Toronto based brand Ladyship makes an excellent one. So stoked to have finally found a yummy one after so many failed attempts 😊
