Question for today

What is your favorite romantic relationship (canon or non-canon)?

My answer:

Actually, there aren't many canon ships that I really like... My absolute favorite is Kanan and Hera's relationship. I love them with all my heart. They are proof that attachment doesn't make a bad thing about being a Jedi - it can become his greatest strength.

My favorite romantic relationship that has never been confirmed as canon is Obi-Wan and Cody. I can honestly say that these are two of my favorite characters. I think they complement each other perfectly.

I'm curious about your favorites and of course thank you for all your answers!

Little homage to my favourite commander, clone, and character in all of Star Wars. This is for you Commander Cody, Kote. After drawing Fox I couldn’t not draw this man. His ability to balance his competence with his insanity is just fuckin incredible. This man will one second snap at a shiny for breaking Obi-Wans concentration, and in the next sucker punch a droid and dog pile Grievous. Icon. Also hm I wonder what the ring around his neck is all about. And his keychain for that matter…

NOW ABOUT THE TATTOO. Though Cody’s the commander, I can’t imagine that he wouldn’t have gotten at least one tattoo. This one was inspired by a fic I read a while ago (The Things You Didn’t Say by Anonymous on ao3, highly recommend) where ***SPOILER*** Cody reveals to Obi-Wan his tattoo, half the open circle fleet. As the open circle fleet directly symbolises Anakin and Obi-Wan, the fact that Cody would explicitly only get Obi-Wans half tattooed over his heart… It makes me feral guys, I couldn’t get the idea out of my head.

The last drawing is just a design idea I had that didn’t really work out when I added colour, but still really enjoyed. I thought about just drawing a full helmet like I did for Fox, but I needed you guys to see his side profile. I love this man so much. Also the stress caused by Rex, Anakin and Ahsoka combined caused him and Obi-Wan to have matching greying temples, just endless suffering with those 3.

I think the funniest possible codywan AU would be for Obi-Wan to drop his lightsaber like two seconds into Order 66 and seeing this just completely overrides the brain chip as Cody explodes with rage because this just happened two minutes ago YOU KARKING JEDI

Actually, that's a really good question. Sometimes I think that Obi-Wan is a character that is shipped with a huge number of other characters in this fandom (from Quinlan Vos, through Asajj Ventress, and even Anakin).

Obitine and Codywan are my favorites and basically the only ships that I consider possible.

Obitine is a classic. Although I personally think their relationship wouldn't have been that successful in the end. Obi-Wan doesn't like politics, and Satine is a born politician. To me it might have been more of a young love, and when they grow up, neither of them were sure if their relationship would work out. I guess Satine's character could, after some time, overwhelm the nature of Obi-Wan, who is calm, but can be stubborn in the right situation.

Cody, on the other hand, doesn't get involved in such matters. He is a soldier, completely devoted to the Republic for which he fights. Loyal, brave, he would never willingly hurt Obi-Wan. He was always there, supporting him, no matter what happened. I think they were very similar, so I think their relationship would make sense. They complement each other. They are both calm and good leaders, one of the best actually.

Codywan is one of my favorite ships and I will defend them no matter what, but I also wanted to give reasons why I think so.

Because I truely believe that Codywan could’ve happened, but at the same time, Obitine was a thing during that mission on Mandalore Obi-Wan talks about. I honestly can’t pick between which one is more plausible, but by preference I’d go with Codywan 🏳️‍🌈

Whether it was a prod from the Force or simply the comlink’s incessant beeping, Obi-Wan was roused to half consciousness in the darkness of his quarters. While he would have preferred to remain asleep, snugly pinned in place by the arm his commander had wrapped around him, calls in the middle of the sleep cycle during a galactic war were unlikely to be ones he could willfully ignore. 

To preserve the only benefit of his newfound wakefulness — being able to indulge in the steady breathing and radiating warmth at his back — Obi-Wan pulled the comlink to him so as not to disturb what were sure to be the last few moments of Cody’s sleep. 

“This is Kenobi,” he said quietly.

There was a longer pause than Obi-Wan would have expected given the urgency of a middle of the night call. 

“Of course, sir,” Crys replied through the comm. “Only, I was trying to reach Commander Cody.”

Oh. Kriff. Surely he could come up with some explanation for answering the wrong comlink. But then Cody stirred behind him, sliding his hand farther down Obi-Wan’s torso and tucking his head into Obi-Wan’s nape. Momentarily overwhelmed by sensation, all he could muster was, “I see, very odd.” 

“My apologies, sir, I must have entered the wrong code.” 

Obi-Wan silently cursed himself for making Crys feel he was in the wrong when it had been Obi-Wan’s mistake to pick up the wrong comlink. “It’s not a problem—” 

“What’s the message, Crys?” Cody grumbled, cutting off his apology and assuredly necessitating an even more elaborate explanation on Obi-Wan’s part. 

“Uh,” Crys said, hopefully not too distracted by trying to piece together what was happening on their end. “That special ops unit is on approach from Kashyyyk with, um, they said a pet? But it really sounds more like a large bug, sir.”   

Immediately, Obi-Wan’s interest outweighed any desire for decorum. “Like an insect?” he asked, perking up.

Not nearly as amused, Cody sighed, the warm burst of air tickling Obi-Wan’s shoulder. “I’ll meet them in the hangar bay. Send a couple nightwatch teams, too. And Crys?” 

“Yessir?” 

“Good soldiers keep their mouths shut.” 

“Yes, sir.” 

With the comm delivered, duty called. Like most mornings, Obi-Wan maneuvered in practiced coordination with Cody as they extracted themselves from the small bed. 

“Firm but fair,” Obi-Wan observed. Certainly a swifter approach to handling his misstep than whatever Obi-Wan was working towards have come up with. 

“I’m glad you approve of my leadership methods,” Cody wryly replied, pulling on his blacks. 

Obi-Wan snorted and, while picking up his own tunic, retrieved a hand guard that had ended up across the room. “Always, my dear,” he said, taking Cody’s palm in his and pressing the armor over the back of his gloved hand. 

Cody’s free hand rose to softly cup Obi-Wan’s cheek, drawing Obi-Wan’s attention. In one of their moments of shared understanding and purpose, both were drawn together for a soft press of lips and a kiss of foreheads before parting. 

“Now, would you like to go see this bug in our hangar?” Cody asked, flipping his helmet onto his head with a flourish.

“How do you always know exactly what to say to woo me, Cody?” Obi-Wan said, falling into step at Cody’s side as they began another day.

Hey can yall help me find a fic? Pretty please? It's one of my favorite and I swear I bookmarked it but I can't find it now.

Its a post order 66 stars wars fic. I think there's two in the series? But the premise is that padme gives birth on the way to mustfar so she and obi ean go on the run and meet up with Rex and ahsoka. Everybody is having a bad time in their grief and lashing out at obi wan who slowly stops talking. Eventually obi wan goes off on a solo mission and ends up rescuing Cody and a few other clones. They continued to go off on missions together and continue to save more clones. Eventually everybody starts to heal and make up.

Headcanon that Obi-Wan thinks Cody always gets a lot to eat because he is a clone with a more active metabolism, but really, Cody knows feeding Obi-Wan little portions of his own food is the only way to get him to sit down and eat something other than half a ration bar.
