2024: My Year in Writing

2024 Summary

Words written: 250,243 (though I'm hoping it'll be more as I think I can get one more chapter out before the 31st!)

Fics published: Thirteen, unlucky for some! Hurt & Heal Series - My Cody/Randy Mini Universe. The series that started it all. Set all over the place tbh, check the year 😂 Good Intentions Series - Cody/John & John/Randy. Kicking it old school with Codena and Centon. My pride and joy. Electric Blue Series - Cody/Roman. It was meant to be a hate-sex series but turned into a love story. The surprise star of the year! Something About Us - Cody/Kenny Omega. Set in Cody's bisexual evil genius phase. He just wants to seduce Kenny and goes through great lengths to do so... Kenny just thinks he's cute. Ginger & Lime - Cody/LA Knight/Randy & Cody/LA Knight. It's just smut to be honest, the plot is minimal and it was a gift fic for the amazing @thlayli-ra ❤ Snake Eyes - Cody/Randy. The snake fic inspired by @codystonguepiercing. Randy gets turned into a snake. It's very silly, but somehow managed to pull out some feelings!

My favourite fic: Look we all know, it's Good Intentions, my Cody/John fic set in 2008-2010. I had such a blast writing it, and I'm always happy converting people to my favourite rare-pair from the good-old-days 😂 Shout out to @superkickme for being the best and keeping me motivated not just through that but pretty much all my fics! You're the best!

My most written pairing: Randy Orton/Cody Rhodes. Because of course. My favourite not-such-a-rare-pair. I've written them in a romcom, a devastating disaster of a doomed relationship, and made a whole mini-universe for them with multiple fics in it. My boys ❤

My most used tags: Angst... because we can never have nice things. Anal Sex... self explanatory 👀. Established Relationship, thanks Cody and Randy. Somewhat Kayfabe Compliant, because I research these fics far too much 😂

What I learned: I really enjoy writing modern characters (or like, 2006-2013 characters lmao). It flows much easier so I can just focus on the dialogue without having to put it through a particular universe filter (beyond making sure everyone who's American stays American 👀) On that note, I've also learned a lot of Americanisms this year 😂

What I want to write next year: The sequel to Good Intentions! It's John Cena's retirement year so I hope he gets some good stories for me to work into his and Cody's 15th year together (blimey...) Got my fingers crossed for his last WrestleMania match to be against Cody for the DRAMA.

I also have a bajillion ideas I want to finally sift through and get some words down for. Going to be a lot harder without the WWE Network at my fingertips 😭
