Me with my feet resting on the coffee table: Man I feel wiped... (I usually do after storms)
Coconut staring intently at my foot: .....
Me: the hell are you staring at ?
Coconut: [BITES MY BIG TOE]
Me: FUCKING OW! WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU CHOSING VIOLENCE RIGHT NOW!? ARE YOU MAD I LEFT FOR 2 DAYS!?
Coconut runs and throws her entire body weight on her sister Mango's face as she's laying there

Coco missing her daddy, rolls a fatty
Why so sad?
Immersive bliss on a heating pad
Don’t leave her be, because you will see
5 seconds after this picture was taken
Coco proceeded to pee
Now that’s not very kind bb
Momma must clean and remind you of the very word she cringes to mutter
Please don’t scold me with an earful, oh brother
There’s always room to squat and make butter 💩

Oil is a scam?
In the past few weeks i have seen a lot of creators commenting on this topic. >>Is the process of oiling the hair after hydrating it (with water) truly necessary? And deos it even work?<<
The tipical Arguments against Oils are:
Oil contributes to the suffocation of the hair and scalp
Oil repels Water therfore after putting oil in your hair, your hair won't be able to absorb anymore water
Our scalp already produces its own natural oil ( called sebum) that is way using furthermore forgein oils on the hair is unecesarry
It is true our hair deos produce its own lipids but in the case of kinky hair its not enough to cover the entire hair, especially not our ends. That is the reason why we use oils. Oil and Sebum have a protective function. It protects the surface of the hair (the cuticle) from damage. Kinky hair has many gaps in its raised cuticle. That is the reason why kinky hair can absorb water quicker but it also loses it at the same rate. This could be the reason why even after hydrating the hair with water, it still feels dry. Lasting Hydartion of our Hair can only be achieved if we seal the water in the hair. This can be done with Oils but also Creams ( which consists of oil and water). That is why the LC, LCO and LO-Methods have been made up (L for Liquid, C for Cream, O for Oil) to help our hair to keep the Hydration for a longer period of time.
Tumblr media
When we put oil and water togheter, the oil stays on the surface because it's less denser than water and the water stays under the surface. Oils don't evaporate as quickly as water because they consist of a heavier molecular Structure in comparison to Water. The best way to seal the hair is to first hydrate and than put oil on it. If you do it the other way round your hair won't be able to absorb 100% of the water. Because the sealment that you used also protects the hair of absorbing to much water which is also not optimal. That is the reason why The >>L<< in the Methods I informed you before hand is always in the front. Seal your hair with having the density of your products in your mind. 1.The densest product(Liquid) 2.the less denser product 3. the more less denser product..... But be careful to not use to much for the sealment. That could truly lead to your hair not being able to absorb any Hydration anymore because its clogged. Always use products that can be rinsed of( like essential oils for example). Cocobutter and Shea butter might be to harsh for that. If you use it you have to wash your hair with a mild shampoo before hydrating and sealing again.
Heavy oils like coconut-oil are able to suffacte the scalp. But coconut-oil is mostly added to the hair after a protein treatment. It ensures that the the protein stays longer in the hair. I for myself have never heard of anyone that uses coconut-oil on their scalp.... But whatevs. Did you know that oiling the scalp with a drop of an essential oil everyday can increase hair-growth? It ensures that the blood is pumpimg better which effects your hair growth tremendously. Once a week is also okay, if you don't have that much time.
What truly matters when oiling the hair is the amount you use and what oil you use. Always remember the dose makes the poison!
I hope everyone learned something in this blog today.
There is more to come.

please can your work release photos of the cocobutt it’s for science
if theres anything ive learned about science communication both online and offline its that people love unusually large or small versions of a creature. nothing really reaches across the barriers of age, education, or language like that does. if it has another interesting factor that seems mildly upsetting or surprising but not offensive to broad human cultural norms, that is a plus but its not required because even then for a single moment everyone is like damn, yeah, thats pretty big or small, and then even if they remember nothing else they might remember that the creatures are coming in Sizes. you know

Blog Post #3
I enjoyed watching the 2020 Candyman more than the 1992 Candyman. The 1992 Candyman storyline used microaggressions and racism to villainize a Black man—Candyman—while using White savior tropes when Helen saves Cabrini-green.  A notable theme that was highlighted in the 2020 film, surrounded racial injustices such as police brutality against Black men. The 2020 Candyman describes that the original Candyman, a Black man named Sherman Fields, was brutally beaten by White police officers after being wrongfully accused of putting razor blades in children’s candy. Additionally, when Anthony is shot by police because they assume he killed Burke, this incident further emphasizes racial profiling and police brutality against Black people. In the 1992 Candyman, I noticed that there was familiar imagery from Birth of a Nation, surrounding harmful tropes like Black men violently going after White women.  One aspect of this week’s film that I found most striking was how Professor Due differentiates both films by explaining that the 1992 Candyman was Black trauma expressed through a white lens and the 2020 Candyman was Black trauma through a Black lens. For example, Jordan Peele’s Candyman highlights Black individuals in a respectable light like avoiding the unnecessary murder of Black people and Candyman not murdering Black characters, whereas the original Candyman does. I think that these differences reflect the social climate of the United States relating to racial justice as well as Black filmmakers having increasingly dominant roles in filmmaking. Black filmmakers can portray Black characters through a Black lens which avoids recirculating harmful racial tropes.
This week we also discussed a short story called “Pressure” by Ezra Clayton Daniels. “Pressure” is a science fiction, horror story that follows a biracial protagonist who visits his White family when strange and unnatural events happen as a result of his racist family. Daniels highlights the protagonist’s feelings of isolation while visiting his White family. He used Ezra’s relationship with the family dog, Scamper to shed light on his isolation as a Black man in a white family stating the dog was “...[his] entire support network in the years that your alienation first began to feel specific and namable”. Additionally, Andrew’s fascination with Ezra’s cocobutter and Ezra hiding it signifies his feelings of otherness and isolation from his White family. After Andrew is fascinated with the cocoa butter, the cocoa butter explodes in his bag. I think that this moment is important to highlight because when his feeling of otherness is at an all-time high, the pressure-building begins. I think that the horror of this mysterious pressure that puts their lives at risk, accompanied by his relative's racism represents the real-life horror of racism and otherness for Black individuals. I also theorized that this combustion could represent the build-up of racism and family isolation that Ezra experiences throughout his whole life, which is finally being released.
