Deads and stone breaks this morning for #strongmansunday at @coalcitystrongman 250kg dub then 6x3 at 200kg before 3x3 natural stones turned onto 2x3 when I had a little sit down on the first rep of the third set and turned out 142kg stone into 2x71kg stones. Followed up with a fun session of the throwing bags with the crew and giving some tips ahead of #risetovalhalla Gave the new @barbell_death_squad deadlift socks a run today. Definitely worth hitting them up for some! So bang in the middle of running our @coalcitystrongman ASA Qualifier and fundraiser for the @nswrfs , a call was made for me to pull the truck too. I set the challenge that for $500 extra donation, I'd step up. It took no more than 3 minutes for that to be put up, so there was nothinh left but for me to pull the truck. #officialstrongmangames Day 1 event 2 146kg/hand farmers Going into the comp, I was pretty nervous I'd zero this one. Grip is definitely a weakness I've been trying to build up. To get 8 feet was more than I'd hoped for but no where near enough to be competitive on the 100ft course! Only good for 2nd last and not ending day 1 an a real positive. Thanks @dude_with_a__camera for the rad photos from @officialstrongman_ games! This was right before my baptism of fire on the viking press. Going into this event I was reasonably confident with my preparation, having hit the advised comp weigh at training for decent numbers. On the day it just wasn't there. And that's @officialstrongman_ #mastersworldsstrongestman run and over for me. Competing with the strongest over 40's in the world, I placed 24th out of 29. With names like @terryhollandswsm @markfelixwsm @mikeyk413 @bigbad.santa and a host of other world class athletes, I'm just stoked to have come and banged! 15th on deadlift, 16th on the carry and drag. I'm so grateful for this experience and so motivated to step up, back up my Australian Masters title and get back here again, bigger, faster, stronger! I can't express how proud of my strongwoman fiance, @bigbirdstrongwoman for also giving this competition and proving to herself and a host of other folks that she belongs in this arena and can hand it to some of the strongest women on the planet. Her never quit, never back down attitude is nothing but inspiring and I can't wait to be with her in this competition for years to come!
