Quartz: These 20 countries are considered "planet wreckers"
While countries around the world push for renewable energy in a new electric age, some of the same countries are also planning the largest oil and gas projects. Just 20 countries are responsible for nearly 90% of new oil and gas extraction projects between 2023 and 2050, according a new report (pdf) by Oil Change International.
The analysis estimates that the projects by those countries, which the report calls “planet wreckers,” would culminate in 172.6 gigatons of CO2 pollution by 2050. That is equivalent to the lifetime of about 1,082 coal plants.
Researchers warn that if oil and gas is allowed to expand at this scale, holding global temperature rise to 1.5°C would be impossible.
The top oil and gas expanders are some of the same countries leading renewable energy efforts. The United States, dubbed “Planet Wrecker In Chief” has more oil and gas projects planned through 2050 than any other country, amounting to an estimated 72.5 gigatons of CO2.
The Global North’s “climate hypocrites”
Along with the US, four other Global North countries with the greatest economic means to rapidly phase out production—referred to in the report as “climate hypocrites”—are responsible for 51% of oil and gas expansion by 2050. Canada trails the US and is followed by Australia, Norway, and the UK. The countries’ emissions from new projects are estimated to be 18.6, 4, 3, and 1.8 gigatons of CO2 respectively.
“It’s simple: when you are in a hole, the first step is to stop digging. The climate crisis is global in nature—but is atrociously unjust,” said co-author Romain Ioualalen in a press release. “A handful of the world’s richest nations’ are risking our future by willingly ignoring the calls to rapidly phase out fossil fuels.”
Without any new oil and gas fields or licenses, researchers estimate global oil and gas production would decline by 2% per year to 2030 and by 5% per year from 2030 to 2050. But stopping new oil and gas would not be enough, according to the authors. Limiting global warming to 1.5°C would require governments to go further by closing down already producing fields.

Here to let you know, WE ARE GONNA DIE. 1.5c degrees of warming was the threshold to stave off dangerous climate change feedbacks like methane being released from thawing permafrost, forests reversing CO2 intake, the AMOC collapsing, and ice-free poles, which will continue to warm our planet and disrupt weather systems. We've been over 1.5c for a year. The ocean keeps getting hotter. There's floods in every corner of the world. Bird flu is running rampant. Farmers in India are killing themselves. Canada has been on fire for an entire year non-stop. They've predicted a pretty gruesome hurricane season. There are hundreds of thousands of people being displaced by droughts and floods. These are just some of the examples I can pull off the top of my head, but it's fucking brutal out there and mainstream media has done a bangup job of ignoring the crumbling biosphere. We just had the hottest April since records began. And oil consumption has not slowed down whatsoever. We have artificially inflated our population to 8 billion by using fertilizer made with fossil fuels and industrialized animal farming.
People are already dying in climate change disasters, it is only a matter of time before it's all our turn.
The only thing to do now is to rapidly decarbonize, end extraction-based capitalism, and depave the world.
But I don't really see that happening.
And pulling out the "environmental science student" card is laughable when tons of universities take big money from fossil fuel companies. They control the narrative completely. And "doomers" (like me) are the only people having honest conversations about what is going on, the idea that we're telling people to do nothing is bullshit made up by literally those same companies.
Humanity is doing absolutely nothing to stop climate change. Hold on to your butts. People aren't gluing themselves to roads and art pieces for nothing. Maybe start listening to us.

Introduction
As the world grapples with the urgent need to transition to sustainable energy sources, the role of domestic coal in this equation has become increasingly contentious. While coal has historically been a staple of energy production, its environmental impact poses significant challenges to sustainability. However, domestic coal can still play a role in a balanced and responsible energy strategy if managed thoughtfully. This blog explores the sustainability of domestic coal, examining both its challenges and potential pathways to a greener future.
Understanding Domestic Coal
Domestic coal refers to the coal mined and used within a country to meet its energy needs. In nations rich in coal reserves, such as India, the United States, and Australia, domestic coal has been a primary source of electricity generation and industrial energy. Its availability makes it an attractive option for energy security and economic development. However, the sustainability of coal usage hinges on addressing its environmental and social impacts.
Environmental Challenges
The environmental ramifications of coal extraction and combustion are well-documented. Coal mining contributes to land degradation, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity. Furthermore, burning coal releases significant amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and particulate matter, leading to air pollution and climate change. These environmental issues highlight the urgent need for strategies that mitigate the negative impacts associated with coal production and usage.
The Case for Cleaner Coal Technologies
One of the most promising avenues for enhancing the sustainability of domestic coal is the adoption of cleaner coal technologies. Innovations such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants. By capturing CO2 emissions before they enter the atmosphere and storing them underground, CCS offers a viable solution for mitigating the environmental impact of coal.Additionally, advancements in coal gasification and integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) technology can lead to more efficient energy production with lower emissions. These technologies enable the conversion of coal into gas, which can then be burned more cleanly than traditional coal combustion. Investing in research and development for these technologies can pave the way for a more sustainable coal industry.
Diversifying the Energy Mix
Sustainability in energy production is best achieved through diversification. While domestic coal can remain a vital part of the energy landscape, integrating renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, is crucial. A balanced energy portfolio can reduce dependence on coal while ensuring energy security and stability. Policymakers must encourage investments in renewables and create incentives for transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

BRAND BUILDING WITH CUSTOMIZED JUTE & COTTON BAGS : A CORPORATE SMART CHOICE
Tumblr media
With increasing competition, corporates are continuously re-evaluating their marketing strategies to position themselves as responsible brands in the minds of customers and clients. At the same time, people are becoming more conscious consumers, seeking alignment with brands that reflect their values. With sustainability at the forefront, brands adopting eco-friendly practices garnered more attention from clients and customers. Additionally, these practices have served as practical and economical marketing tools. One such avenue that has gained significant attention is the use of customized jute bags. These bags contribute to environmental conservation and add value to the marketing kit derived from being an excellent choice for corporate branding. This blog explores the various ways jute bags can be the perfect choice for corporates, the impact of branding on jute bags, and why they are essential for expanding brand visibility and enhancing the brand. Environmental benefits of Jute & Cotton bags: connect with nature and say no to unsustainable fabrics Jute, a natural fiber harvested from the bark of the jute plant, is primarily cultivated in the Ganges Delta. It’s an environmentally friendly option as it requires minimal pesticides and fertilizers. Additionally, jute plants absorb substantial amounts of CO2 and release oxygen, benefiting the environment. Jute bags are biodegradable and decompose naturally, avoiding the long-term landfill issues associated with plastic bags. On the other hand, Jute is well complemented by cotton, which is a sustainable fabric and an excellent alternative to plastics, paper, and other unsustainable materials. The production process begins with cultivating the plant and harvesting the bolls. The fibers are extracted, cleaned, processed into sliver, carded, spun into yarn, and woven or knitted into fabric.
In contrast, plastics and synthetic fabrics have a considerable environmental impact. Plastic production involves extensive use of fossil fuels, resulting in high CO2 emissions. The entire lifecycle of plastics—from extraction to disposal—contributes significantly to greenhouse gases. Microplastics, often used in packaging, are so tiny that they evade easy detection and severely negatively affect marine life, human health, and ecosystems. In India, plastics account for approximately 8-10% of municipal solid waste in landfills. This figure may vary with regional and urban factors, but plastic waste remains a significant environmental threat due to its detrimental impact and difficulties in waste management. Eco-Innovation: revamping practices for sustainability Environmental and ecological enthusiasts have long been working with corporates to adopt sustainable practices by highlighting the hazards of pollution through organized awareness programs. Over time, this mission has gained momentum, and businesses are now beginning to understand and implement sustainable lifestyles for a thriving future. However, there is still a long way to go. The increasing awareness of environmental hazards and the demand for a greener future have acted as catalysts for change. Consequently, companies are adopting eco-friendly practices to resonate with the growing segment of environmentally conscious consumers who alter their consumption habits based on fashion and ethics. Among these practices, jute and cotton bags, made from natural fibers, stand out. These bags are biodegradable and recyclable, making them an ideal choice for businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint and enhance their green credentials. The Impact of Branding on Jute & Cotton Bags In today’s evolving business landscape, where sustainability and brand image are crucial, jute bags are an ideal choice for corporates. They enhance brand image, create positive associations, and build customer loyalty. Let us list a few that corroborate the above.
Eco-friendly image: Using jute bags positions the company as environmentally responsible and creates a positive brand image. Consumers who prioritize sustainability in their purchase decisions will enhance their opinions of the brand.
Durability and Practicality: Jute bags are known for their strength and durability. Unlike plastic or paper bags that tear easily, jute and cotton bags carry heavier loads, making them practical for daily use and ensuring that the brand message remains visible over time.
Cost-effective: Corporates work on tight budgets. As a facilitating factor, jute bags are a cost-effective solution and are a formidable competitor to fabrics like rexin, leather, suede, and other unsustainable fabrics that cost a bomb. Bulk orders further reduce costs, making them an affordable marketing weapon for large and small corporations.
Versatile in design:  Jute’s flexibility allows for a wide range of sizes, shapes, and designs. This adaptability will enable businesses to create unique and attractive bags that cater to different audiences and purposes, from grocery shopping to backpacks to carrying laptops and many more.
Double down your image: The Impact of Branding on Jute & Cotton Bags
Branding is a constant resonation of your product or service available among your target customers. Sometimes branding can become complicated when the budget is limited, and companies find it arduous to bridge the gap between creating visibility, building reputation and keeping the finances at a particular low. However, the marketer's biggest armor and reprieve comes in the form of effectively utilising jute bags and using them for intelligent branding. Let us see the ways and impact.
Enhanced Brand Recall: The brand logo and message are displayed every time a jute bag is used. This repeated exposure helps reinforce brand recall among consumers and draws curious potential customers to the brand.
Walking Advertisements: Jute bags act as mobile advertisements. Whether used at the grocery store, the gym, malls, or the beach, they carry the brand's message far and wide, reaching a broader audience without additional cost.
Positive Brand Associations: A company transitioning to a sustainable mindset is a sense of confidence and a statement to their customers that all the products they meticulously craft are keeping in mind their client's customer's well-being.  It demonstrates the company's social responsibility and environmental care, boosting customer loyalty and trust.
Amplified reach: Marketing often requires deep pockets, and strategies to create brand awareness are usually limited to a specific audience. Digital ads target particular groups and have limited reach based on algorithms. In contrast, jute bags reach a limitless audience, being visible to anyone, thereby organically increasing brand reach and complementing your sustainable approach.
Omnipresent Jute, Cotton bags: Enhancing Brand Presence and Visibility Creative Customization: Flexibility fosters innovation, leading to innovative products like laptop bags, promotional bags, handheld bags, files, folders, wallets, gift hampers, trays, executive shoulder bags, etc. These items make perfect giveaways for events or occasions. Their durability and sturdiness ensure more comprehensive visibility and presence. The branding, from single to multiple colors, makes them a penny-wise choice for corporates and other events.
Targeted Distribution: Distributing customized jute bags at events, conferences, and trade shows ensures they reach potential clients and partners. This targeted approach maximizes the impact and ensures the brand doesn't miss the right audience.
Employee Engagement: Providing employees with branded jute bags can turn them into brand ambassadors. When employees use these bags in their daily lives, they effortlessly promote the brand, contributing to increased visibility.
Corporate Gifting: Customized jute bags are excellent corporate gifts. Filled with branded items or samples, they offer a thoughtful, practical gift that keeps the brand top-of-mind. Examples include cotton tote bags, jute promotional bags, backpacks, and laptop bags.
Tips to customize and design:
Their flexibility offers an expansive room for creativity. Optimally, using this advantage perfectly places the brand on top. A few aesthetics to consider.
Printing: Printing on bags highlights the company's vision and carries tales of the event to every corner of the world. The logo and event should be highlighted carefully, as it is the first impression of a long-lasting relationship.
Simplicity: A simple, clean design is more effective than a cluttered one. Ensure the logo is prominent and easy to read. Too much information can deter use. Striking a perfect balance between information and space is ideal.
Color Contrast: Use contrasting colours to make the design stand out. For example, a dark logo on a light-coloured bag or vice versa. Keep it professional for corporate giveaways and avoid multi-colour combinations. Staple corporate colours are "White, Brown, Black and Grey."
Durability: Choose high-quality printing methods that withstand frequent use and washing, ensuring the print remains intact over time.
Unique Features: To increase the bag's functionality and appeal, add unique features such as pockets, zippers, or different handle lengths.
Corporate social responsibility and Corporates: Jute bags can play a key role in CSR activities, offering long-term benefits for companies. Promoting jute products at corporate events enhances a company’s image by highlighting its commitment to sustainability and waste reduction. This consistent demonstration of environmental responsibility can attract and retain customers who share these values. Additionally, it boosts employee satisfaction and loyalty, as staff take pride in working for a socially responsible organization. Incorporating jute bags aligns with these CSR efforts and underscores the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship.
Tumblr media
Parting Thoughts:
Jute and cotton are ideal for B2B applications, enhancing brand visibility and showcasing a commitment to sustainability. Integrating jute bags into your corporate strategy boosts your brand’s image, fosters customer loyalty, and expands your reach. Trailblazers in sustainability recognize that customized jute bags reflect their eco-friendly values, making them a wise choice. These bags build emotional connections with conscious consumers who seek products that reveal their personalities and dispositions at a glance. A Synopsis of Net Zero's History
We as a Net zero consultancy, the notion of "net zero" has existed for some time now, and it is a topic that is brought up every day. Recognizing and mitigating human impact on climate change is the goal of net zero, a concept that influences global political and economic policies at the local, national, and even global levels. Why is everyone talking about net zero, and what does it actually mean? Reducing or eliminating greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide (CO2), is central to the net zero idea. "Net zero" refers to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to as near to zero as possible, with any leftover emissions being reabsorbed from the atmosphere by things like forests and oceans, according to the United Nations. On an international scale, people, businesses, and governments strive to produce as few emissions as possible or to extract the same amount from the atmosphere as they add.
Tumblr media
As a Net Zero Carbon, actual net-zero targets are, by definition, incompatible with fossil fuels since emissions stay stored in the atmosphere for extended periods and directly impact global temperatures, even if we increase the output of renewable energy sources or plant more trees to offset them.  Most nations have set net-zero targets in recent years, creating laws and policies to assist them in cutting their emissions and eventually becoming carbon neutral. The net-zero idea is significant as it directly affects human and environmental health. Given how long greenhouse gases remain in the atmosphere, it's helpful to have a phrase that can be used to refer to a solution While some may believe that their engagement ends with their government's pledges or donations, everyone is impacted by net zero.
Being a Net Zero, no one is spared from the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions, which spread equally worldwide after mixing in the atmosphere, regardless of which countries produce them.  Countries must take action to reduce their CO2 emissions because even a slight change in global temperatures might have disastrous consequences. Even a one-degree increase in temperature can cause catastrophic heat waves, droughts, and floods that wipe out entire towns and cause enormous ecological damage. This frequently occurs in nations that are most vulnerable to climate change but yet make up the smallest percentage of global emissions.  Although the idea was created relatively recently, information about national emissions and their risks dates back to about 1750.
We are renowned Net Zero Consultancy, since then, the US has emitted approximately 1.5 trillion tons of CO2 or nearly 25%. China comes second with over 12% of the world's emissions. When technical advancements fueled their expanding industries throughout the Industrial Revolution, most countries began to produce CO2 at a rapid rate. The 1950s saw a sharper increase in CO2 emissions. 25.23 billion metric tons of CO2 had been produced in 2000, and 34.81 billion metric tons had been made by 2020. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations issued a warning to the world in its Fifth Assessment Report (2013), outlining the steps required to bring the total amount of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere down to zero to eventually halt global warming. Nevertheless, despite the concerning evidence, most nations have only recently begun pursuing net-zero goals.
To help you as Net Zero Consultant, the idea of reaching net zero carbon emissions was made famous by the Paris Agreement, but global CO2 emissions continued to rise, reaching 36.6 billion metric tons in 2022—an almost 2 billion ton increase in just two years. About 50% of all emissions globally in 2020 came from the biggest contributors, which included China, the US, India, Russia, Japan, Iran, and the European Union. At least 7 million deaths worldwide are attributed to air pollution; hence, its reduction is imperative. Along with improving physical and mental health, certain specific regulations, such as those prohibiting the sale of CO2-emitting cars, may also enhance air quality by promoting a lifestyle center on walking or cycling rather than relying on fossil fuel-powered automobiles.

‘Future of coal is bright in India; technologies to help sustainable extraction of dry fuel’
The future of coal in India is bright as there are technologies available which can help the country extract, use and combust the dry fuel far more sustainably, FutureCoal on Monday said.
Coal is considered to be the biggest contributor to climate change with thermal electricity being responsible for nearly 30 per cent of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

‘’The future of coal in India is bright……we believe that there are technologies that are available which can help India extract coal far more sustainably, use it far more sustainably, combust it far more sustainably, and post combustion treatment to coal can reduce Co2 emissions by as much as 99 per cent,’’ FutureCoal Board member Sunil Chaturvedi said.
The FutreCoal Global Alliance is an organisation representing the entire value chain and is dedicated to raising awareness on the contribution of the fossil fuel.
He further said 70 per cent of electricity generation comes from coal. India has moved from last 15 years to supercritical and ultrasuper critical technologies. That means India as a country, is combusting coal far better, efficiently and in a less polluting manner.
‘’This will continue because coal is not only for electricity generation….A lot of improvement has happened but things are still evolving,’’ Chaturvedi explained.
He said that by 2030 when the thermal power share will come down to 30–35 per cent or so, India will still need 1.5 billion tonne of coal. Therefore, production of the fossil fuel in India has to go up.
FutureCoal Chief Executive Michelle Manook was of the view that the future of coal in India is exciting.
‘’The total contribution made by the coal value chain in sectors, including power, steel, cement, aluminium, chemicals and renewable infrastructure is in the order of hundred of billion and is an interconnected global supply chain,’’ she explained.
