Jazz guitarist and Soul singer and songwriter Calvin Edwards brings his dynamic trio to The Loft and Cellar in Uptown Charlotte. Calvin is a well-known international artist who has performed in Okinawa, Tokyo, and China as well as performing for the G8 Summit for President Clinton in Okinawa. At 17, he joined the famous Gospel group Five Blind Boys of Alabama for many years. Join us for a night of Smokin' Blues, Soul, and Jazz! Friday, Jan. 25th - The Xmen: A Live Vibe, featuring Tony Russell on Bass (Kendrick Lamar, P Diddy, Jay-Z), with Special Guests and Friends at the Rabbit Hole in Plaza Midwood, Friday January 25th! Musician/Producer/Composer Tim Scott Jr. and Evan Brice lead a group of talented international musicians as they take you on a Funky, Soulful, Rockin; journey! The XMen's original music is an amazing fusion of R&B, Trap Music, Jazz and Fusion which showcases their diversity, musicianship and versatility. The XMen is a songwriting/production group turned live band from Charlotte, NC. Comprised of virtuoso musicians and singers, Evan Brice, CJ Mercer, Chris Kee, CJ Thompson and Ahji. The XMen are among some of the most in demand artists in the city of Charlotte and surrounding areas alike. Individually they have traveled and recorded with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Anthony Hamilton, Usher, SWV, Migos, Tamia, JoJo and Deborah Cox to name a few. Prepare for a Night of Silky Soul vocals and jazzy rhythms from Joseph Priester and Company on Friday, Oct 26th.  

Accomplished musician, vocalist, producer and visionary, JOSEPH a Columbia, SC native began his quest in music at age 3. The growing musician was afforded many opportunities to record and perform with many mainstream gospel artist early on. Such as; John P. Kee, Daryl Coley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, David Allen, Sam Obie, Kenyatta Carrington and Dorlisa Gales.

He began to experience rapid growth as a musician, taking his talent on "the road" with Darrell McFadden and The Fantastic Disciples of New York, and The 4 time Grammy winners, The Blind Boys of Alabama. Joseph's musical stylings are compared to that of Thomas Whitfield, Rance Allen and a few others. Versed in gospel, R&B, Jazz and Soul, he furthered his studies briefly with Berklee School of The Arts in Boston, MASS concentrating on Music Theory and Improvisation. "Music is the souls expression, the universal language, I want to speak loudly and clearly".

On Friday, Oct. 12th - Jazz N Soul Music will present Menastree, a Fusion of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Funk, and Soul! Menastree - was born in the early summer of 2014, originating from Charlotte North Carolina. Beginning with musician/producer and videographer DJ Lil Tone, Musician/producer Jesse Lemar Williams and musician/vocalist Jeremy Mayher. Menastree created their formula for their sound by backing various artist deriving from various genres and performing at festivals such as SXSW. As a result of the new age mashup sound with elements of hip-hop/trap/jazz/house and R&B. By January 2017 Menastree had officially been established. Solidifying the establishment with the particularly chosen additions of Zach Wheeler, Braxton Bateman, Malcolm Charles, Waneisha “Nish” Massey , Curt Keyz , Stefan Kallander , and Marcus Jones. Friday, August 3rd - Jazz N Soul Music First Friday at Ella's featuring a night of smooth and funky jazz, featuring Jazz Munkee! Prepare to hear smooth jazz blended with classic and neo soul anchored by Paul Little on Drums, Felix Anthony on Guitar, and Michael Carter on Bass!

They really take it to another level. Producing moments when musicians and audience are one, feeding off the energy of each other. Don’t miss being part of this fun.

The Jazz N Soul Music hosts with Red Diamond Event Hall of Pineville, NC  a musical showcase featuring performances by songstress extraordinaire Gena Chambers and Ken Gober with special guest Paul Dixon.  The night will include heavy hors'doerves, a cash bar, and lots of surpises all night. Concluding with DJ that will have you dancing to your vehicles.  The show is Saturday, June 30th at 8pm. Gena Chambers From the time she was old enough to speak she has been singing. Music was deep in her soul and was waiting to come out. She was reared in a musical family and grew up singing in the church choir. With her unique vocal styling and versatility in singing different genres of music, she was performing at all of the local hotspots. She has become known all over the city as the hottest newcomer.  She also had a theatrical debut in Tyler Perry’s gospel musical ‘I Know I’ve Been Changed’ as Ellen, one of the leading roles.

Ken Gober Ken has been in the music industry for more than a decade, working his way from Northwest Indiana and the Chicago stages; to the Atlanta music scene in the 90’s; and finally around the world touring with the international show band “Exotique.” His vocal styles range from smooth jazz to pop to R&B to gospel. Whether performing on large stages, intimate venues or cabaret rooms, Ken has had the opportunity of sharing his musical talents worldwide. Whether it’s in a large arena, an intimate room, with a band or just a piano, Ken’s smooth voice and inspiring melodies will always remind you that music is a special gift given to the world and when done right it can change the atmosphere!
