DEMECIA IN TURMOIL!
It's been two weeks since the tragic news of King Jarvan III death, and subsequently his son's declaration to seek his fathers murderer, whilst also seemingly placing any and all mages and those associating with mages on the nations watch list.
In spite of King Jarvan IV assurance that the Mage Registration Act was just an insurance to every day residents that those posing a risk to their daily lives were under watchful eyes from the Government; another image is being cast for the rest of the world to see.
Mages, both benign and high-risk, are being dragged away by Mageseekers, as well as their families and friends. The more these arrests are carried out, the more the initial public opinion on the Mage Registration Act changes. Whereas at first, Demecian public opinion was originally in favour of the act, those opinions now express outrage, and protests have begun springing out throughout the nation.
One such incident occurred in a small town several hours away from the Freljord border, on Sunday 17th of February, when an envoy from Arbormak en route to the Demecia capital for diplomatic talks was set upon by angry locals, who were outraged by the arrest of 14-year-old Kyra Smith, the young girl has benign magic abilities. It was recorded that the teenage girl came forth to register herself as a mage, to the Mageseekers; and was arrested on the spot.
Kyra's distraught mother (Roslyn Smith) and father (Clive Smith), have stated that their daughter was no threat and that they haven't been informed about the wellbeing of their daughter.
"She is my world," sobbed Roslyn hysterically "she never should have been arrested. She was only following the law, she registered and they dragged her away. They shouldn't be allowed to do that- they keep saying that they're only upholding the law. But if the law calls for my little girl to be dragged off to Gods know where, then the law is wrong!"
The uproar was quickly de-escalated by the efforts of Field Sargent Cithria Cloudfield, who made a public declaration that she would look into the wereabouts of Kyra Smith.
Our field agent made their rounds around the small town, and soon discovered that all mages and their associates (family and friends) who have been arrested have either been thrown into high security prisons, or exiled from Demecia without their documentation or worldly belongings.
Upon this discovery, The Piltover Times made a special page dedicated to locating those exiled from their home, in the hopes of relocating them to mage sanctuaries being established throughout Runeterra.
www.mageandassociat.locationhotline.com.pt
These poor souls are in our minds, and we hope to help find sanctuary for those who have been unceremoniously expelled from their homes.

Of Zaun and their missing surnames
With the hiatus and all the new fans discovering the League lore for the first time, I noticed that many people believe that people from Zaun do not have surnames, which is wrong.
First of all, we have one character from Undercity which gets addressed with her last name all the time - Sky Young.
It is fair to say that we do have places in Runeterra which seem not to use the classical example of the modern surname.
To list some examples:
Zed introduces himself in his own comic as “Usan of Kéthé”.
Both Cithria and Sylas have a reference to the place they grew up (Cithria of Cloudfield & Sylas of Dregbourne).
Ashe calls herself “Ashe. Daughter of Grena. I am the Bow.” in Ashe: Warmother.
Even for a person who lacks a proper surname, there is a cultural norm on how to introduce yourself.
For places like Ionia and Demacia it makes sense that their “surnames” are location-dependent - these regions tend to have mostly villages and small towns. You don’t need a fancy surname because everyone knows each other.
In Freljord, the individual is defined by his relationship with their tribe - as long as you haven’t made a name for yourself, you tie yourself to your family. And if you can offer something for your tribe, you wear that title proudly.
To summarize: All these regions have either small populations so it suffices to mention from which villages they come or have other ways like titles.
None of these methods would work in Zaun because the Undercity is a big place.
Another point: By watching the way the council operates, we know how much red tape exists in Piltover. Are we all gonna pretend as if getting into the Academy wouldn’t require tons of paperwork, which for sure has to include a full name? So surnames have to exist in Zaun for sure.
However, there is an important narrative point why we know the last names Jayce, Caitlyn and Mel in contrast to the main characters from Zaun.
For all of these three characters, the last names work as stepping stones and safety nets at the same time.
Let’s take a closer look.
Caitlyn is the heir of the Kirraman house. She is the daughter of the councilor member and therefore, every single door is open for her. No matter where Caitlyn would have applied for a job, they would have recognized her name immediately and picked her for the prestige alone.
While Jayce seemed to need a sponsorship to study at the academy, he is not from a bad family. When he gets expelled from the Academy, he actually could simply take over the Talis forge. And while his “name is no good anymore”, I am sure with time people would have simply forgotten about the whole thing and he could have simply stayed in his social circle.
Jayce’s life was not over in any way - he still had a stable future, simply not the want he dreamed of. It was Jayce’s own decision to try to end his life, he was not pushed by actual existential dread.
It is difficult to say how Mel’s climb has been. We know that she has been exiled from her family but we don’t know how. It could be that she came to Piltover with enough money to invest. Even if she didn’t, with her family name it wouldn’t have been too difficult to find someone to help her settle in Piltover before she had the power to shape the city to her own beliefs.
Every single of these three characters worked hard to get to their position. However, the truth is that their journeys have been so much shorter and smoother than for a lot of other people. The reality is that working hard is rarely enough to actually get to things you want - luck is the biggest factor. Luck in being born into the right family or somehow getting lucky in a different way.
Things are different in Zaun.
Vander is a pillar in the community. Not because he has a fancy family name or because his ancestor did something important but because he helped to create a place of connection in the Lanes.
Silco is a feared man. We don’t know his past but we can assume he worked on the fissure as well since he can breathe that kind of air. A man hellbend to use his power and money to create an independent Zaun, outside of Piltover’s shadow.
Nobody cares about how Ekko grew up. The people who look up to the “boy savior” do it because he is a symbol of hope.
In contrast to Piltover, Zaun doesn’t have a history it can take advantage of, but instead it forges its own legacy in the present.
TL;DR: People from Zaun absolutely have surnames, since the place is too big for not having such a system. Not knowing the last names of the Zaunites is a narrative choice - every Piltovian had advantage because of their family name, in contrast to the Zaunites who had to climb their way up in spite of everything.

Just curious related to the recent posted questions…Baegcha, question 1
1. What do they think about their home nation? How likely is it for their country to betray them?
The warm sunlight peak through the curtains in contrast to the cold weather, the weather that Beagcha is familiar with and he doesn’t particularly like or hate it.
Baegcha came back to his home country today for the summer celebration. Unfortunately he’s not here to celebrate, he heard about mass kidnapping and so decided to investigate as he suspected it connection with the trafficking happening in West coast.
He goes outside hoping to grab something to eat and may be he’ll get some information if he talk to some food stand. During his time away from home, he does miss his home country food.
Cloud field is a country located on flat fields and so it is very good for agriculture, although vegetables and fruits are limited to the one that can grow in cold weather. They are cheap and fresh and Beagcha appreciate that.
Beagcha order his favorite spiced chickpea salad from one of the food stand, the cook prepared the salad as she was told and the salad is served in a paper bag.
Tumblr media
Baegcha took it and hand some cash to the cook in which he received a puzzled look from her.
Then Baegcha remembered, in Cloud field, cash is rare. People usually pay using internet banking and so most food stand doesn’t have a change.
Back when he was part of secret service, Baegcha was against putting the finances system of the entire nation in the electronic form. True internet banking is safe in a way but you can’t rely purely on it, and you need a back up system. Unfortunately, being a nation that is famous for the most stable bank and safest financial system in this world, they are very confident in the way they handle everything related to finance.
Guess that’s where Baegcha got his overconfidence attitude from as well.
Since FININT in Cloudfield is insanely good, making any tab into its system even with fake accounts is definitely detrimental. But it is very unlikely that anybody here will have a change for him to exchange to unless he goes all the way to the money exchange boot at the airport or any of the bank in which the security level are horrifying. And considering the FININT part, having any of C2ISTAR pay for him would be like throwing them into an incinerator and unfortunately, Orenji only use cash.
Baegcha sigh, he only has one choice. There is only one person with authorized account and credit so good and clean that no one would care about any of her transactions. Asking for the cook to wait, he start dialing his phone.
Baegcha: “……..mom, can you pay for my salad?”
He can hear the cook snickers, although in a friendly way. It still embarrassing that Baegcha, a 39 year old grown man with a job has to ask his mom to pay for his 15 cents salad.
Tumblr media
After the payment is done. Baegcha go as far away from the food stall as possible before start eating his salad.
Just like the day he left, Cloud field is chill. Unlike Northland, there is no military propaganda. Which make sense since Cloud field deviate from military industry and is more focus on finance and cybersecurity, most nations also don’t dare mess with Cloud field since they know that if Cloud field stop providing them the access to electronic financial networks in their country then they are screw.
Well…until any of other nations successfully develop a network that rival Cloud field that is.
C2ISTAR had always been bothered by the fact that Beagcha would left such a peaceful nation.
He didn’t hate it here and considering the situation. Cloud field doesn’t have any motives to betray him.
Cloud field just disappointed him, thing was horrible, he was at his low being constantly harm by his superior at work and….they made fun of him.
Throwing away the empty paper bag, Baegcha resume his investigation.
………………………………………………
Thank you for the ask! ✨

Cloudfield patří mezi přední certifikované specialisty pro cloudové služby Microsoft Azure. V minulém roce získala společnost rovněž ocenění Microsoft partnera roku, a to v České republice.

Cotton Candy Stardust
More blue and not as much pink I was originally planning, but oh well.
Inspired by that one freakin good R76 fanfic and also, as usual, music. Snow by Cloudfield mostly, which made me feel very pink, reddish, brownish and orange vibes. About half way through, I switched to some Geoplex, like Glimmer and Aether. That's where the blue came from I think...
