And then this happened...Nothing better than drinking incredible wines with great friends! A Riesling from Trimbach in Alsace, France, that was bright and fresh with the distinct oily viscosity and big time petrol notes. Then we moved on to the Clos Fantine Faugeres, from Cabrerolles, France, a Syrah, Grenache, Carignan blend that was funky, fruity, sour and acidic all at the same time. Next we’re two beautiful Piemonte (Piedmont) Nebbiolos from Mascarello and DeForville. Once they opened up they were very expressive with distinctive sour cherry and rose petal notes and a touch of cigar box.
