gourd had given up on the One Day I’m Going to Give This Body To Fray thing by the end of post-sb when he sorts a ton of his shit out but I will say when he went into the twinning and came face to face with its rift travelling heart he did consider for a very hot second using it to jump back into the past before fray died. it wasn’t a rationally serious thought for countless reasons obviously but emotionally he was dead serious and fray was like What the F Get that shit out of your mouth
#ideally for gourd fray would live again and his involvement with them would be erased#he thinks he is the interloper and nothing short of rewinding time could ever make up for it#to fray this is all nonsense. things they didnt ask for#fray is like well I died first. you wont be taking that from me#closest he’s come to forsaking everything btw.

Hey there! Same Anon who was asking about reading your book! You had a post about the similarities between the gang from HTTYD and a story you had written in 3rd grade
Oh right right right! This post! XD Thanks for reminding me, friend, and thank you so much again for the nice words! Hehe, I don’t know that you’d really want to read that third grade book series once you learned more about it... it’s really bad, illogical, and childish... haha and literally Frogger fanfiction. ^^ Although maybe you’d want to read it anyway, for the amusement of it? My little kid stories make me laugh at the absurdity sometimes.
Ahhhhh alrighty alrighty! *clasps hands together* Some info about a few current things I’m writing!
Create. This novel is based in a highly religious culture where music is the main element of spiritual worship and growth. Monks live in pagodas based upon their instrument. Traditional music is the means by which to communicate with the many demons of this world, is the pathway to spiritual Illumination, and a means by which to respect the Illuminated. The main character Nareay is sent to the Viola Pagoda by her family in hopes to appease angry spirits in their region. At the Viola Pagoda, she meets her two closest friends: a blind and extremely talented musician Theara-ra, and a mischievous boy Sothea who is partially possessed by a bloodthirsty demon because he accidentally messed up a musical ritual (which he shouldn’t have done anyway). The characters find themselves in danger when their Emperor forsakes the traditions of music and begin to anger the demons of the land. On top of that, their country’s long-term enemies begin invading the country. The main character Nareay is put in the position of trying to survive a dangerous invasion and make peace with the spirits - despite she herself being in an odd position, as someone who has forsaken traditional musical practices to instead be a composer.
War Hymn. This is one that I’ve held on hold for a few years but might return to later. It takes place in the same world as “Create,” only it’s about a thousand years in the future. The setting has a sort of... hm, steampunk Cambodia-ish feel to it? It’s the middle of a civil war, where one people group is trying to rid themselves of a foreign people group (who installed themselves into power after a world war several decades back). The main character Ny Rottany seeks to assemble a small team to promote unlikely peace, while at the same time digging for answers about what their foreign leaders are actually up to. Ahhh... this one is hard to summarize. I have to figure out a good elevator pitch without giving away spoilers.
Untitled book series. I and a close friend are working on a book series which has not yet been titled, despite the fact that we’ve got a good, solid outline pounded out. This is the main thing I want to publish and am working really really really hard to publish, so I’ll be the most cautious sharing information about it. But I’m really looking forward to this thing. It’s got an extraordinary amount of world building in a fantasy culture that hopefully feels nothing like most fantasy genre books (it’s not the stereotypical Medieval European setting... at all). We’ve thought out everything from climate to housing practices to gesture to language... I mean, I am a linguist, so naturally I’m going to conlang!
This three book series is about a semi-exiled king who finds himself leading a rebellion against another governmental force... but as they are engaged in this one war, they accidentally stumble into something even greater. At the ancient temple which they are using as a military base, they come across demons and gods... and realize that the gods are about to wage a full-scale war themselves, and take peoples’ souls for their own in the process.
There are a lot of characters, and I hope that people come to love them for their personality and quirks. The main character, the king-like character, is a painfully stubborn prick. He has a proper air about him, trying to be regal (his love of fashion is excessive), talking in ridiculously flowery prose, and he always tries to keep his facial expression carefully passive. At the same time he acts proper and tries to make himself look respectable, he’s a grumpy warrior with a huge temper and high amount of impulsivity. When he gets angry... there’s... no... stopping... him. He fights for what he believes is right to the point it’s a little absurd. He’s a father with two children, and there we see him at his most tender.
Reset or Resume. This isn’t an original fic, but it’s the current fanfiction I’m working on. I haven’t posted a word online, though I’m getting really really really fidgety to... it’s just that I want to finish this thing before I begin posting (and it’s probably going to be somewhere between 150 and 200k). This is an Undertale fanfiction focusing on Sans, under the idea that he and Gaster discovered how to SAVE and go back in time. When situations start falling apart around Sans, he tries to use the SAVE to settle things right... only to realize that nothing he can do actually makes a difference.
