How do you figure Mirabel's relationships with the other relatives like Pepa, Felix, Camilo or Dolores, that we can't see very accuretely in the movie or in the novels?
hi anon! I love questions like this ahhh!!
it’s been confirmed by jared that mirabel gets on well with both pepa and felix! I’m not too sure on details but from what we see in the movie pepa isn’t upset when mirabel guides antonio to his door! she seems to be really supportive of their bond! and despite the rule being “we don’t talk about bruno” pepa trusts mirabel enough to tell her! post movie content such as the comics show that pepa and mirabel care a lot for eachother! mirabel seems to be like pepa and felixs relationships number one fan! I also saw a hc that mirabel likes dancing with felix and I love that sm!
As for camilo it’s been confirmed they were extremely close when younger and after mira’s gift ceremony became more distant. From what’s shown in the movie they never necessarily had a negative relationship more so became busy and drifted. Post movie and even during all of you shows she gets on well with him! even with his comments about the fact they have no house her expression is like one of playful annoyance!
a lot of us think the “tall tales” comic featuring camilo is pre movie so also judging on that camilo and mirabel never disliked eachother! they had just grown apart and I feel like post movie they become like best friends again!
dolores and mirabel is interesting because whilst dolores doesn’t spend much time with mirabel she also doesn’t seem to dislike her! judging on the movie she blurts out the fact mirabel has no gift but not in a mean way! Just as a matter of fact thing! The only real negative interaction is when dolores spills the secret at dinner but judging how it’s about a prophecy that predicts the house falling and not mirabels personal drama I feel like this shows she cares. Also dolores is technically the first person to believe mirabel in the movie, she tries to play off that mirabel is the “only one worried about the magic” but then she adds on hints that mirabel really isnt! so dolores basically is hinting that she believes mirabel and gives her information that’s beneficial not just once but twice! during wdtab dolores is the only one who actually tells mirabel bruno is still here (she just never picks up on it) and we see when mirabels missing that dolores is trying to look for her! so I don’t think she has a negative bond with dolores either! and based on comics too mirabel and dolores get on well! I like to think she sees mirabel as a little sister in a way!
so really I don’t think mirabel had a bad relationship with any of the warm family! the people she’s most distant from are actually shown to be her own sisters! I also love the hc that felix agustín dolores and mira all play music together because they all play an instrument!

I mostly made this cause I thought it’d be funny but it was fun thinking abt how this hypothetical au would look#mostly because it gives me an excuse to think abt different stalien societies#also the basic plot of this au would be way closer to isat than eg just due to the nature of eg#I don’t even have enough characters to fill out just one half of the eg cast let alone both#but I don’t mind since it means I can say fuck it and give myself more creative freedom#plus I can’t just not put this fucker into another timeloop I can’t let them rest easy or I’ll die#it’s mostly just a setting and worldbuilding change so I can think abt my worldbuilding more <3#now alas au will have to make up smth completely new for sif in terms of his original herd but that’s fine#I’ve been wanting to fuck around with island herds anyways#the other four get to hang out in the ones I’ve already made#mira and isa are part of the desert herd that rotate between the surface and underground seasonally#odile is a part of the herd well known for having the longest migration cycle#and bonnie I’ll probably also stick in desert land but I might also have them be the token marsh herd rep#aka the society the main stalien cast from normal eternal gales are from#which would mean extremely bad things for bonnie and nille but I’d be mostly nicies to them#well. compared to the actual cast. which is a low bar.#now all of these herd names aren’t official and are bad descriptions but shhh#the desert one isn’t even a desert it has two dry seasons and two wet seasons with one of the dry seasons being cold as hell#oh the real hell has been deciding energy types for all of them#sif is red mostly because I wanted to fuck around with the logistics a bit#red energy will mimic other energy types it comes into contact with#the things on his fingers are basically a catalyst for that and they use them to create their weapons#they specifically mimic yellow energy for this purpose as it can temporarily create somewhat solid constructs#usually in yellow energy staliens this is used to create mandibles and wings#anyways ignore my insistence on associating isat with my ocs allow me to be cringe

#listen. i say this as someone who isnt even a big fan of isabella#but damn bro ur really just sitting here not caring about her feelings WHEN THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE MOVIE IS THAT THEYRE ALL NOT OK#SOMETIMES WHEN PPL ARENT OK THEY REDIRECT THEIR ANGER AND WHILE ITS NOT OK YOU CANT JUST ACT LIKE SHES UNREASONABLE AND SPOILED#you cant tell me that isabella doesnt have like. the second worst anxiety in the house. she just hides it bc she has to#the golden child/ scapegoat child dynamic between isabella and mirabel isnt just like. isa being mean for no reason#they both see each other as having it easy because they 'dont have any expectations of them and therefore dont have to try'#its about realizing how hard the other is trying and that they were so much more alike than either realized#isa resented mirabel for being messy and clumsy and imperfect because isa is expected to be the perfect example of her family#she cant mess up she has to always be aware of how others percieve her and cannot show any flaws#mira resents isabella because she is trying so hard constantly to basically make up for simply existing#and despite how hard she tries its never enough. so seeing isa being (seemingly) efortlessly perfect hurts#isa is the standard she can never reach#but the truth is they are both just sisters who have spent their whole lives trying so hard to not admit that they wish they were the other#and that theyre both just people who dont have to justify their existance or pose like some perfect little doll. theyre just people#with flaws and issues and the ability to change and grow#fuck you if you hate isa this is a pro isabella blog now#i cant hear you over the sound of mirabel and isabella working through their trauma together and growing closer as sisters#encanto#mirabel madrigal#isabela madrigal#IVE BEEN SPELLING HER NAME WRONG IN THE TAGS FML#oh well i am NOT fixing that

#laerion is a bit wobbly bc of the constant timeskips in his narrative but during the dance itself he's a grown man.#if i mathed right for mira she's only about 17 in the first book but is solidly 18-19 in events to follow.#lya is baby because that's how her timeline worked out (though she has an au where she's closer to dom's age#bc i know some people do not like writing w kid muses) but also her narrative is so much helplessness/maturity/injustice that#i feel like her being young gets a pass.
