“In southwest Morocco, goats climb trees, drawn by the fruit of the Argan tree, which ripens in June every year. These trees grow almost exclusively in Morocco. The goats are very adept at climbing the trees because they have two-toed hooves, which can spread out to provide balance and leverage. The goats also have soft feet soles, which help them grip the bark, and two vestigial toes on their legs, called dewclaws, which help them pull themselves up branches. The Argan (Argania spinosa) is endemic to the semi-desert region of south-western Morocco. The species grows over 30-feet-tall and live up to 150 to 200 years. (yavuz sariyildiz/Getty Images)”

In life we can be split in two right down the middle jus like this tree!! 🌳📍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I came across this tree here in Scotland! Midway through a nike trek with a good friend as soon as I spotted it I was drawn to it I went off course and drove straight towards it I had to share an encounter with it! I dna why at the time but I did, looking deeper into it now I can kinda make sense of maybe why.. in some respects this big old tree is strong representation of how ive been feeling and I suppose how life can be sometimes. I mean well look at it it suffered a substantial amount of damage almost asif a massive arm its lost but I look at this and it tells me sometimes these challenging time must come and will pass but there serve a purpose one in which we must learn from and so i do n you should too... So I tell you what its still living strong it still continues l, life can be tough at times but one thing I must share with you it can and always will be full of beauty and experiences along the way! 🌳 #allstormswillpass 📍Loch lomond 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 National Park. RISKS FOR CHILDREN How do you feel about your child taking risks? Health and safety is becoming more and more of a consideration in modern day society - and for the most part, this is with good reason. But have you ever stopped to consider the risk you may place your child in by limiting their ability to take risks?! I know this may be an unpopular opinion amongst parents, but I believe it is incredibly important to give children the opportunities to manage their own risk from an early age. After all, how will children ever be able to assess danger independently if they are not allowed to experience it for themselves? How will they understand stranger danger, crossing the road, or using dangerous equipment? I believe the answer is to give our children the skills to assess risks effectively by themselves, and the opportunity to make small and managed mistakes. This can be achieved in many ways. For example: *planning discussions - encouraging your child to carefully consider how they can approach an activity. Questions such as ‘how do you think you can do that without hurting yourself?’ and ‘what do you think might happen if you do X?’ can help your child to come to their own conclusions about their actions. *experience - for example, young toddlers could climb on objects that are slightly wobbly (but with a soft landing underneath), and older children could ride their bike on the road with a parent, on a safe and quiet road. You can adapt activities to keep them ‘safer’, for example giving your child a high visibility jacket and protective gear to ride their bike, but the important thing is that your child experiences age appropriate risk. *reflection - asking your child questions such as ‘why do you think that happened?’, ‘what could you do differently next time?’, and ‘what do you think worked well?’ help your child to reflect and assess their actions, which helps them in future planning.
