Timothy Carey (Convicts 4, Poor White Trash, The Killing)— The fact that Timothy Carey is an ACTOR is honestly an astonishing one. In most of his films you literally cannot understand what he says, why he's saying it, or again...how he became an actor. He frequently plays scum, delinquents, the criminally insane, and degenerates. Regardless, when he's on-screen he makes you want to watch him because by god he's going to do SOMETHING. WHO KNOWS WHAT THAT WILL BE!? He'll speak his entire dialogue through clenched teeth, dance his weird little heart out, and all the while looking at you with these big dark eyes that constantly have that quality of a dog that is too overstimulated. He is a greasy freak and I always get so excited when I see his names in the credits.

i finally decided to take the time & do a heavily requested gif tutorial! this will be very detailed & is how i make every single one of my gifs from start to finish! i’ll also include resources for ps downloads, actions, etc. if you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask! & if this helps you, pls rb!!

TUTORIAL UNDER THE CUT!

i’m going to break it down into sections to hopefully make it easier to understand!

1. software i use

photoshop - i use photoshop cc 2020 on my macbook air but any version of photoshop with video timeline/frame timeline will work for creating gifs! i pay for my photoshop but i know there are ways to get it for free. if you don’t want to/can’t pay for photoshop, here (x, x, x, x) are some links to download it without paying!

mplayer osx extended - this is the software i use for my screencaps. there are a lot of software’s out there & i think it truly comes down to preference. i’m just more familiar with mplayer & the screencaps come out really smooth in my opinion. it’s free as well & here is a link to download it! 

2. hq movie/tv show/video downloads

ok so i’ll be real, i never used t*rrents until recently & i’ve personally noticed a huge difference when it comes to quality. before using them, i was using files from MEGA & if you’re not comfortable with t*rrents, i would definitely recommend MEGA links! when it comes to downloading any videos, try to make sure they are 1080p or 2160p if available! 720p is also ok but always try to get 1080p. also i’ve found that with movies, 1080p Blu-ray versions look better but again, it’s all about preference! 

t*rrents - i only use one t*rrent site which is r*rbg. they have a huge variety of tv shows & movies from what i can tell. 

MEGA - MEGA is really nice for people that aren’t comfortable with t*rrents. the way i used to use MEGA was, i followed accounts on twitter that would upload MEGA links to tv shows. here (x, x, x, x, x, x) are some of the accounts that post a wide variety of links to MEGA downloads! i will say, the only downside to MEGA links is that they seem to take longer to download & you can cap out at a certain amount of GB each day.

folx - i use this to download stuff from r*rbg! download this before you try to download anything from r*rbg. its free to use & there are multiple sites you can download this software from but i’ll link a few right here (x, x, x this one is a link directly from the apple store but it costs $15.00). if you don’t want to download from any of those links, you can just simply look up ‘folx mac/windows download’ in google!

4k video downloader - i use this to download videos from youtube! it’s free as well & you can download it here!

3. screencaps

once you’ve downloaded a movie or tv show or whatever you want to gif, open whichever screencap software you’re using & start playing the video. for mplayer osx extended, to screencap you just go to the scene you want to gif, pause the video, & hold down shift + command + S on mac (i think it’s the same for windows i’m not sure).

4. importing screenshots into photoshop

now that you’ve got the screencaps of the scene you want to gif, it’s time to open photoshop! to upload the screencaps, in photoshop go up in the lefthand corner to file > scripts > load files into stack. once you click on that, you’ll click ‘browse’ over to the right & the files on your computer will pop up. go to wherever you saved your screenshots & select all of them! once you’re done selecting them, hit ‘open’ in the bottom right corner.

5. cropping

now all of your screencaps are imported!!! now it’s time to crop the screencaps. go to the crop icon over to the left.

for this gif, i want dimensions to be 540 x 350, so i go up top & type it in

great! now the gif will look like this:

6. actions/sharpening/gaussian blur

now that the gif is cropped, we’re going to sharpen it. i use actions because they are so much faster & easier. i use the action that kylos uses in her giffing tutorial & the direct link to download the action is right here! to access actions, you can either go to window > actions or go over to the play button to the right that looks like this:

when you hit that play button, you will see the actions that you have downloaded pop up! select where it says ‘select here!’ & then go down to the play button at the bottom to play the action. i circled both steps down below

the default radius in this action is 0.3 & i normally change it to 0.4 (it’ll normally pop up & ask you like shown below & just change it to 0.4!)

now the action has been played!! i add an extra step but it’s optional! what i do next is i add a layer of gaussian blur on top of the action. to do that, go to filter > blur > gaussian blur. once you select that, it’ll have a pop up that looks like the one below & you’ll just select ok or hit the enter button

once you do that, you’ll notice your gif looks soft or not sharpened so the next step is to change the percentage of the gaussian blur layer you just applied. to do this, you go to the bottom right corner & hold down option by clicking on the gaussian blur layer. there will be options that pop up & you’ll select ‘edit smart filter blending options’ like shown below (my handwriting looks like a five-year-olds ik)

another pop up will show up in the middle of the screen & you’ll be able to select which percentage you want to place on your gif. the opacity really depends on the gif but i normally do 10%-30%. for a lot of my gifs recently i’ve applied 15% which is what i did on this gif! once you change the opacity to whatever you want, hit ok!

after that you want to change the image size to the same size you cropped the gif to. to do this, you’ll go to image > image size > & change it to 540 x 350 (or whatever the size of your gif is! also make sure it’s switched to pixels instead of inches! once you’ve done that hit ‘ok’ or press enter.

once that’s done, go ahead & save the gif! to do this, go to file > export > save for web (legacy). it’ll show you the size of the gif down in the bottom left & as long as it’s under 10mb you’ll be fine!!! down below i circled my save settings as well! also its SUPER IMPORTANT THAT YOU SET LOOPING OPTIONS TO FOREVER! once you’ve done all that, save your gif by hitting the ‘save...’ button down below that’s circled. you can name your gif however you like just make sure you keep the .gif after it!

now my gif looks sharper than before: 

now for time delay & coloring!!!

7. time delay

open the gif you just saved in photoshop by going to file > open. once it’s opened, you’ll see a timeline of all the frames towards the bottom. it’ll likely say 0.07 sec with a small little downward arrow next to it. select the downward arrow & select other. change the speed from ‘0.07′ to ‘0.05′! gifs look much better & more natural at this speed. (also yes i did delete a few frames because i felt it was too long so to delete frames you just select the ones you want to delete & click the trash button down by the scroller!)

8. coloring

coloring can be so much fun but so tricky! i personally use a base psd that i made for all of my gifs & then adjust it according to the gif i’m coloring but for this gif i colored it from scratch! so for most of my gifs i only color/edit them using levels, selective color, brightness/contrast, curves, color balance, & vibrance (in that order) to access these, go to layer > new adjustment layer > & then select whichever one you want to start with.

The rest of the day was spent playing video games and eating junk food, allowing Shiro to let loose and Keith to feel a bit of normalcy after his stressful weekend. It neared 9 when Shiro called it quits, so he could grade a few papers before bed. Keith powered down the X-box and retreated to his room to go to bed early, so he could maybe get a decent amount of sleep.

PJ-clad and ready for bed, Keith crawled under the covers and unlocked his phone to pull up a podcast to listen to. He remembered Hunk telling him about the new video from his “internet rival” and switched from his podcast app to Youtube to check it out quickly. He looked through the comments of his Rihanna video and sure enough there it was.

He snorted and clicked. The page redirected to the video and Keith shook his head when he saw the title, smiling at its ridiculousness, Bring Me To Life Evanescence Remix- also known as Brogaynes is a terrible person and I hate him.

The song opened with an instrumental bit, heavy with anticipation, the beat gradually growing through the first verse. After the first line of the chorus, it dropped hard into a stretch of classic dubstep. The song repeated that pattern, slow build with samples of the original song and heavy drop, one more time before ending on a synthetic trill.

If Keith didn’t have a predisposed hatred of all things dubstep, he would have liked the song. He clicked into the description expecting another snide comment like last time, but it was empty. He scrolled through the comments and saw nothing there either. He thought that was a bit odd and out of character, but dismissed it because they’d never interacted, so there was no reason for him to know anything about this person’s character or be concerned.

He switched back to his podcast app, pulling one up, and closed his eyes. Before he knew it, the hosts said their outro an hour later and Keith was still very awake. He groaned and rolled over to grab his phone. He debated playing another one, but he didn’t feel anywhere near falling asleep, so he opened Twitter with the hope that some mindless scrolling would do the trick.

The racing in his mind gradually slowed as he went through his feed. He passed a list of recommended users, quickly scrolling back up for a double take. No way, he thought, his mind fully alert again, and clicked on the user profile. Sure enough, there it was. BlueTailor69 had a twitter and it was exactly what could be expected. The profile picture was a black background with Fuck You, Brogaynes in white Comic Sans and the description read, I exist solely to spite Brogaynes. Besides, he started it.

Keith couldn’t fight the disbelieving laugh that bubbled up as he scrolled through his tweets.  They were pretty much all replies to Keith’s tweets, consisting mostly of various snips and jabs at the songs he covered. He looked again at the most recent tweet, linking to his Evanescence cover, his brows furrowing as he read the caption. Had a shitty weekend so cut me some slack. I can still hate you in any headspace though @BrogaynesMusic ;) That must have been why there was no sarcastic commentary on the video.

Before thinking it through, Keith hit the message button and typed out a quick You ok? Once it sent, he realized that that was probably a bad idea. This guy was likely some troll who just enjoyed fucking with people because he had nothing better to do with his life and wasn’t worth Keith’s time to be worried about. Before he could fully second-guess his decision, his phone pinged.

Keith stared at the message bubble, just as confused as to why he was messaging this guy as he was.

BrogaynesMusic: You said you had a shitty weekend. Just asking if you were ok

I confess this is long overdue, I said years ago I would do one for 300, then 400, and when I got to 500 I barely had the time to think about it before I was at 550... anyway, you get the idea. I don’t know where you guys keep coming from, but man am I glad to see you. It’s thanks to all of you this blog is still kicking well into its third year and I’m honestly so thankful this blue prince can still instigate some interest.

Once Cancer

Usually I ike to be positive and most of the time I am, if something pisses me off I’lll get over it and stay positive most of the time. But today I have something to say that is not very positive. 

First of all I have to say I’ve met nice people from every fandom even the ones that I personally had a lot of bad experiences with so I know it doesn’t apply to everybody. That beeing said there’s something we need to talk about. Twice fans are the most arrogant, disrepectful piece of garbage fandom I’ve ever seen in my life. (I put this song in at the top because I’m a huge Eminem fan and he has a way with words as people may know :P. This song has nothing to do with Twice originally but if you listen to the lyrics it’s like he wrote it about Twice fans.)   In the past I’ve had quite a few bad experiences with EXO fans and I think they deserved the bad reputation they have/had (again doesn’t apply to everybody) Mainly the problem I had there was that they were so extremely sensitive that they’d start fights over everything and anything lol. Then BTS fans had a bad reputation although ersonally I’ve only had good interactions with BTS fans. Yes they were everywhere commenting and shit but I feel like that’s just because there’s a lot of young overly excited new fans who just plastered everything. Some people got annoyed but I never had a problem with them. 

But Twice fans they are not just excited they’re fucking entitled, they think they’re the best shit ever because their group is popular. Since the beginning they have been attacking SNSD saying the group is over they’re old  making pictures of SNSD beeing burried in a coffin by Twice and their fans.

 But today I saw something that just was the epitome of hypocrisy. 

Ther was an article about SNSD having the 4th highest grossing tour by any girl group (including western girl groups groups) they also had 4 other lower spots on the top 10 list with other tours they did. And of course there’s Twice fans in the fucking comment section talking shit. I was reading the comments and I clicked on this guys name and what do I see ? You can guess once who he’s talking about. He says it’s hard to be nice when there’s so many people out there that are like the devil. And then in the next sentence he hopes SNSD will die. What a good person. But the other people are evil though. 

This is where we can look at some of the song lyrics:

SONES and SNSD are not to blame for this bullshit. Of course just like not every Twice fan is bad there’s also total douchebags in the SNSD fandom but the percentage kinda matters. And nobody who supports SNSD would have cared about Twice if these fans hadn’t come along and started talking shit everywhere. If you didn’t call Twice the nations girl group the SONES wouldn’t have to correct you.  To the people who think ARMYs are bad when I look at the fandoms of BTS and BIGBANG I don’t see this shit happening. BTS fans didn’t say BIGBANG should go fucking retire. Well at least I never saw that. I’m not as much into guy groups so I miss out on stuff. But today I see ARMYs and VIPs getting along pretty well whenever I see them together. There’s a lot of people who like both groups. When T.O.P was in the hospital there was only support everywhere. It was a really nice thing to see. 

Also I think BTS makes good music that also makes a difference. BTS is not my favorite group but I like them there’s many songs that I like by them and I can see why they have many fans. With Twice there’s not a lot there so that makes it even more infuriating when they claim to be the best group. 

This just shows the Twice fandom is on another level, absolute garbage. It’s not just towards SNSD either. When there was something on the internet about a collaboration between Twice and VIXX Twice fans said it was “charity work”. VIXX doesn’t have the same amount of youtube views but they’re songs are a lot better. I’m not even a fan of VIXX, although I do like some of their songs, and it’s not close to me. 

This song was not popular but I think it’s very underrated. It was one of my top 20 songs with MVs of 2016.  There’s more quality in this song than any song Twice ever released. Even if you combine all of them I’d still pick this song. And look at that, they can sing live ! Crazy  

If you ever watch the top 100 most viewed videos on youtube(not just kpop videos all combined) You’ll see that 90% of them are garbage. Beeing popular doesn’t mean you’re making good music or other content. So behaving like you own the fucking Kpop world because your group became popular on tv and everybody likes them is a joke. I judge groups by their music and not their views and for me Twice is at the bottom. Of course views matter to a certain extent because it shows interest and exposure but it doesn’t show quality and talent. JYP just did a very good job with promotion that’s all.  If you want people to respect Twice and their fans then Twice should show that they can do more than 1 kind of song and the fans should stop beeing the biggest assholes around. Make some quality music first and then talk about beeing the nations girl group. 

Have people said negative things about Twice too ? Sure. I personally think their music isn’t good and they’re extremely overrated. But I don’t hate Twice the group I just don’t like their music, that’s it. I didn’t like their songs but that’s not a problem. There’s a lot of songs I don’t like but I can just ignore them. There doesn’t need to be a conflict because of that. But this shit  People have been critical of Twice but not like this the criticism was always about their music or their talent not personal attacks or hoping the group wuld die or disband.  And usually people criticised Twice in response to the fans making some ridiculous claims. If Twice fans hadn’t started this bullshit then there wouldn’t have been a reaction. Nobody would be arguing about who’s the nations girl group if Twice fans didn’t use it in every post. If you showed some respect or at least less arrogance then things could have been different.  

Now that I got this shit off my motherfuckin chest as Eminem would say I have to repeat that I’m just making this post because a bunch of things have piled up and today I had enough. It doesn’t mean I hate the group Twice or every Twice fan it’s just a percentage that is cancer like I wrote in the title. The Twice fandom wins the cancer award. Congratulations
