Anyway I'm not gonna touch that internalized lycanphobia with a ten foot pole. Being turned by your partner is something that can be incredibly intimate as long as both parties are consenting and the one being turned is 100% sure they want it. Literally the only downside to transforming once a month is the pain, but midol works just fine. As I progress into my transition and am more and more "stealth" (as in I don't say I am trans but I am openly bi and visibly queer), I want to quickly talk about something I was absolutely not prepared for: how fucking weird people are about queer men.

I knew that people tend to be more aggressive and visibly disgusted by gay men and I buckled up for it, but you wouldn't BELIEVE how many times I was sexually harassed by CISHET MEN because I am gay. Like cishet dude sexualized and groped me while insisting they weren't queer and I mean, I should've known, but all I've always seen talked about is the higher risk of being beaten up. But no, cishet dudes have no shame to treat you like a piece of meat if you're gay, like they want to test their heterosexuality or something. And women DO THE SAME. Like I've been through the het girls wanting to drunkenly make out with you to "try it" when I lived as a bi girl but they still do this shit when you're a gay man and I'm going to lose my mind.

I was never as naive as to think that transitionning would shield me completely but fuck me, this is unbearable.

As someone who's been a lover of traditional folk music from the British Isles for several decades, one thing I've learned is that "True Love" didn't always mean what you think it means. In the older songs, "true love" is not some mystical quality, some type of connection that is magically better than other Loves. No. A love that is "true" merely means that your Love is "true TO YOU." "True" as in faithful and loyal and trustworthy. A lover who will stand by you and with you no matter what comes. True the way a good sword is True. True the way a good knight is loyal. The contrast is "False Love," which is a lover who betrays you, who cannot be trusted.

"True Love" isn't something you find, it's a vow and a choice that you make, every day, to BE TRUE.
