“Come on, Jack, we need to get up.” Yusei mumbled as she was pulled back under the covers, unable to help the soft laugh that escaped her lips.

Jack pouted back at her, shaking her head, squeezing her eyes shut. “Nope.” It was a simple enough response, though the duvet was pulled back off her as Yusei sat back up.

“Come on, we gotta.”

She groaned, squinting her eyes up at her. “…At least give me a kiss first?”

Of course it worked. Yusei leant over, pressing her lips softly against Jack’s, deepening it with a soft sigh. Arms wrapped around her, and she had a feeling that she had been beaten this time.

Maybe they could get up later.

Clearsoul is so much more thoughtprovoking than Kingcrab, but Kingcrab never fails to make me laugh. This isn't an opinion piece, though; I just wanted to share. Thank you smutty Clearsoul/Kingcrab artist on Twitter for bestowing me this knowledge. 030

Hey a fair warning: Because I make content and I was never satisfied with the name kingcrabshipping I won't be referring it to that anymore. Instead I'll be calling it ClearSoulshipping. It has obvious reasonings behind it and I feel it fits the two better than just being a pun on kingcrabs and their title and hair. If you want a more in-depth reasoning, shoot me an ask and I'll elaborate. So if you wanna keep seeing my art for that, I'll be referring it as ClearSoulshipping. Thanks guys 😩😩😩

26. as an apology

“Who the fuck used the last of my coffee?”

Yusei looked down at his empty mug.  Oh.  That’s why it tasted differently than usual. 

Jack slammed the cabinet shut and stormed around the table, leaning up to look towards the loft.

“Crow!! Did you fucking touch my coffee?”

Crow let out a loud, exhausted groan, clearly not even half awake.  Jack started towards the loft ladder, but Yusei managed to shake enough life into his tired muscles to catch up to him, grabbing his elbow.

“Jack, don’t bother him, it was – ”

“I told him not to use my coffee!! He has his own!”

“Jack, it was me.”

Jack’s angry scowl fell away with surprise.  For a moment, he just stared at Yusei, as though his brain was still catching up.

“I must have grabbed the wrong bag when I was fumbling around.  I’m sorry, Jack, it was an accident.  I’ll buy you more.”

Jack blinked at him again.  Then he groaned, releasing the ladder and rubbing at his eyes with two fingers.  Yusei winced.  Jack looked like crap, if he was honest – he must have been out late again.

When Jack’s hand fell from his face, Yusei leaned in.  Just as Jack’s eyes opened, he brushed his lips against Jack’s.”

“I’m sorry,” he said again.

But Jack had already grabbed him by the shoulders and almost yanked him in, shoving his lips more firmly against Yusei’s.  Yusei pressed back automatically, the two of them kissing so hard that when he broke back, he had to gasp for breath, his heart rattling against his ribs.

Jack rubbed the back of his hand against his mouth, as though trying to hide the flush that coated his cheeks.

“At least I got a taste of it,” he grumbled.  “But you’d still better buy me more.”

Yusei almost choked on his surprised laugh.  He shook his head.

“I promise.  I’ll go get more.”

Yusei [answers the phone]: Hello?

Jack: It’s Jack.

Yusei: What did he do this time?

Jack: No, it’s me, Jack.

Yusei: Oh. What did you do this time?

Akiza: Ever since you joined, you’ve been nothing but selfish and unhelpful! All you care about are your own needs and not Yusei’s!

Jack: What?! [points at her face] Look here, Sugar Queen! I’ve known Yusei a hell of a lot longer than you ever will. So don’t talk to me about what his needs are! [turns and leaves the room]

Akiza: Sugar Queen?! [about to follow him but the door closes harshly] Did you just slam the door in my face?! How can you be so infuriating?! [starts banging the door with her fists, kicking it a few times]

Yusei [watching from the sidelines] : Should we… do something?

Crow: Hey, I’m just enjoying the show.

Yusei [walking over]: Okay, okay, you both need to calm down.

Akiza: Both? I’M COMPLETELY CALM!!!!

Yusei: I can see that…

Crow: What are you doing, you oaf?

Jack [staring and admiring Yusei]: He’s pretty~

Crow: And you’re ugly, now let’s get to work.

Martha: Do me a favor, be sweet to Yusei. He kinda has a crush on you.

Jack: Really? I had no idea.

Martha: Of course you didn’t, boys never do. [she leaves the room]

[A few moments later, Jack opens the door to a closet. Yusei is inside, holding a hand over his face. The taller of the two snorts in amusement]

Yusei [face red as he punches him in the shoulder]: Shut up!

[Jack and Yusei laid in bed together, basking in the afterglow of their late night act of intimacy and passion]

Yusei [laying contently against the blond’s chest]: That was amazing.

Jack [running a hand through the other’s hair] Yeah. Want to do it again?

Crow [in the top bunk above them] Please don’t.

Jack: Wait, so you just used me? Like a tool?!

Yusei: Well, it’s not like I keep you around for your brains.

Jack [sputtering]: What?!

Yusei: Look, don’t sweat the details, okay, sweet cheeks? I’ll buy you something pretty when we get home. [walks away]

Jack: Hey, don’t walk away from me! There’s a person attached to this duel disk, you know! I will not be objectified!

Yusei: I’ve got to get back before Jack realizes I’m not bed.

[Meanwhile]

Jack [waking up and realizing Yusei is gone]: Yusei? YUSEI!!!!!!

Jack had warned her that she would get sick, and Yusei had shrugged it off at the time, focusing her attention on upgrading their bikes. It had come back to bite her, and now she was slumped on the couch, with both arms wrapped tight around her girlfriend’s bicep.

She hadn’t said anything in a while, but she was relieved that she wasn’t being made to talk; her throat was killing her, and she was relieved that Jack understood. Yusei’s head rested on her shoulder, and she sniffled, eyes heavy and head pounding.

“Jack,” She mumbled, lifting her head with great struggle. “Make me feel better.”

It was a ridiculous request – something that both knew was impossible – but Jack wriggled her arm out from the grip so she could hold her, pulling Yusei closer until she was curled up on her lap.

“That help?” A light kiss against a warm forehead was enough to at least give Yusei a placebo effect, and for a moment, she really did think that Jack’s touch was enough to make her feel better.

“Yeah,” She croaked, allowing her eyes to flutter shut.

The world was still spinning even now, and Jack struggled to sit upright for more than a few seconds at a time unassisted. It was okay. Yusei was there to keep her close, his fingertips tracing love letters along her spine, caressing over bruises that they both knew would form in deep purples and reds by the next morning.

She whined, shifting closer, and his grip tightened to keep her secure. Each time their eyes met, Jack mumbled something about struggling to see him properly – though, she was giggling, so she clearly wasn’t distressed.

“Coming back down to Earth yet, babe?” Yusei spoke quietly, but she shrugged, nuzzling softly against bitemarks along his neck. “It’s okay. Take your time.”

She nodded, heavy lids closing for a moment – just resting – as she leant more of her body weight against him. “I love you.” He swore there were hearts in her eyes, flicks of light from the lamp across the room.

“I love you too, princess.” He smiled when she squeaked, pulling him closer for a lazy kiss.
