1981 Cadillac Evolution I
Fashion Victim: The 1981-83 Pierre Cardin Evolution I
French-Italian designer Pierre Cardin found worldwide fame with his exuberant approach to women’s fashion, but the skills didn’t necessarily cross over to the automotive world.
The creator of mod chic and the bubble dress, Pierre Cardin (1922-2020) first made his name as a ladies’ fashion designer—one who then aggressively extended his brand marketing into consumer goods of all kinds, from perfume to sunglasses and eventually, automobiles. For American Motors he designed the 1972 Cardin Javelin with its memorable neon-striped upholstery, and in 1978 he whipped up a line of specially trimmed Cadillacs. But easily the wildest of his automotive enterprises was a customized Cadillac Eldorado called the Evolution I.

Cadillac Cardin Convertible
As we can see above, the most remarkable feature of Cardin’s restyled Eldorado is its radically extended nose, which was facilitated in part with fenders and bumpers borrowed from the Oldsmobile Toronado, the Eldo’s GM E-body sibling. It’s an odd look, especially given the front-drive E-Body’s relatively short dash-to-axle distance.
The rear end styling was rearranged in a similarly arbitrary manner, with the Eldorado’s classic vertical taillights replaced with a slim horizontal lamp assembly that spanned the width of the body. Cardin’s sales literature boasted of “30 coats of hand-rubbed lacquer” and other fineries.

1981 Cadillac Evolution I
Luxury upgrades to the interior included elaborate two-tone leather upholstery, front and rear consoles, and a Quasar video player with a Sony TV in the rear seat. Pierre Cardin Automotive originally planned to produce 300 examples of the Evoluution I, with a gold plate on the instrument panel to testify to the serial number. But reportedly, only around 100 vehicles were delivered in the 1981-83 model run, including one Hess & Eisehnart convertible conversion. One likely reason for the limited popularity, we theorize, was the price: a hefty $58,000, more than three times the cost of a standard Cadillac Eldorado. As far as we know, this would be the fashion maven’s final foray into the automobile business.

Television - The Chapel, San Francisco, California, October 22, 2016
The mighty Tom Verlaine passed away just about a year ago — and since then, there have been countless tributes, a couple enormous book sales and people like me digging into the various shadowy corners of his career. Like this particular corner!
By 2016, Television had settled into a more or less nostalgic onstage role, often playing Marquee Moon in its entirety, almost giving the people what they wanted. This one-off SF show is a notable exception. Billed as an evening of "instrumentals & improvs," it shows the Jimmy Ripp lineup of Television loosening up a bit, having a little fun re-arranging the classics, making it up as they go along. It's a cool ride, from the almost lounge-y "Venus" at the beginning to the long, dark "Persia" jam. There's even a slinky version of "I'm Gonna Find You," that lost song from 1974 — interesting that Tom could be coaxed into reviving that one at this late date. He definitely seems to enjoy singing it.
Towards the end, a thoroughly abstracted "1880 or so" bleeds into the explosive coda to "Marquee Moon" — though the best part is when the band crashes down to earth, and Verlaine plays some absolutely gorgeous guitar, losing himself in a reverie, the Cadillac pulling into the graveyard one more time.

Day of Judgement: Part 1
Something had to give. Too many people were getting hurt, getting caught up in what should have been his fight. His friends were one thing. But now, Professor Hawkins...
Yugi shifts against a sleeping Joey, where the two of them rested against each other in one of the bench seats of the Hawkins' RV. Across the table, Tristan and Duke snooze in a smiliar fashion.
The conversation between Yugi and his Other is quiet, spoken inside their hearts, communicated with feelings more than words. They both know what it feels like to worry about their Grandpa. Yugi glances over at the door to the RV's little bedroom at the back, where Téa and Rebecca sleep. He owes it to her to find him. To bring him home. To do so without endangering anyone else.
Yugi moves slowly, slipping out from under Joey's arm, careful not to wake the other man. He dons his jacket, his shoes, his Duel Disk, and quietly leaves the RV.
He has to Duel Doma's Three Musketeers. He has to win. Even if that means condemning his opponent to the cruel fate of the Seal of Orichalcos.
Those three have been with him through everything. They've seen the Shadow Games. They knew him at his worst.
But he can't let them see that side of him again.
He glances at Duke's Cadillac, considers for a moment. But he's never driven before, and the roar of the classic engine would surely wake everyone. He wanders from the RV, past the charred remains of the Professor's house and to the stables behind.
They don't need to speak, they share the same memories of that horse camp in middle school.
It's awkward, especially at first. But somehow, some sort of instinct takes over as the Other Yugi does too, sitting there on Rebecca's beloved horse Billy. But awkward as it is, he manages to coax the horse out of his stables, and into the desert, chasing the location left for him by Doma's Musketeers.
The ride seems to go on forever, but his heart keeps him going, even as the ranch falls far out of view behind him. He's not sure how he knows the way. Maybe it's destiny guiding him, or Timaeus on his deck. Maybe it's that little stone he's been wearing around his neck since that Duel back in Domino City.
But eventually, he sees another person. The tallest member of the trio, the man who called himself Raphael, standing expectantly across a rickety suspension bridge.
Yugi's heart pounds in his chest.
He brings Billy to a stop, nearly tumbling to the dusty ground as he dismounts. But that little fumble hardly deters him, as he turns to fix an icy, piercing glare on the man across the chasm.
"This ends here, Raphael," he growls as he marches, confidently, across the precarious bridge.
#ooc#plot#arc: what the doma?!#I'm going to try and do this in 3 parts#I'm at work tho so they might be kind of slow coming#also thanks jasper for tagging yugi in that post earlier and inspiring the title of this bit

Watch "Ye Olde Destruction" Full Movie - By Thomas Campbell
vimeo
For the last 7 years Artist- Film maker Thomas Campbell has been making a self funded skateboarding movie, mainly shot on a 16mm film -- called - Ye Olde Destruction (YOD).... with a solid grip of land sled aficionados building and skating DIY spots, some street action, pools, and other stuff.
The movie is really about capturing sessions and the movement of the life and happenings in these situations.
Part of the theme and vehicle that propels the film is the driving of two old cars (one 70's Cadillac and one black Ford Station wagon) two squads travel around in these cars skating, building spots, creating different skating scenarios, sometimes skating the cars and basically wilding out in said vehicles.
In some ways the movie falls into the classic genera of the car movies movie motif (Bullitt, Mad Maxx or Brown Bunny). The Film is presented in brutal but some how dream scape - ish editing style.
The entire score of YOD is an originally crafted musical piece by the L.A. Based duo No Age, which turns the guts and hold them there for the duration. Sergej Vutuc the world renowned Berlin based artist zine maker adding his jacked frenetic script to the mix, as a subtle nod to deep zine realms.
Campbell enlisted an A list team of lens men to help him capture the motion picture scenarios and shreddings - French Fred, Jon Miner, Mike Manzoori, Connor Wyse among others. The film embodies and unveils the inter web of a community...

Modern!AU Phantom of the Opera Headcanons Part 1: Driving
I don’t know what possessed me to think of these, but here are some modern!AU headcanons of what kind of drivers the Phantom crew (Christine, Erik, Raoul, and Daroga/Nadir Khan) are. Enjoy!
Christine:
She is a BAD driver
Every ride with her ends in a wreck
She just gets distracted too easily and can’t focus (especially when her passengers are talking or playing music)
Is on first-name basis with the people at her insurance company, it’s that bad
Definitely eats and drives
ALWAYS wears a seatbelt and insists everyone else in the car do the same
The term “passenger princess” was invented for her
Can change a tire really fast (her dad taught her how when she was a kid and she remembers to this day)
Probably drives something cute like a VW Beetle or Mini Cooper, dream car is something vintage (Pontiac, Cadillac)
Has a couple punny bumper stickers
Erik:
Does not have a driver’s license (for good reason)
Drives like he’s in a car chase even if he’s just going to the grocery store
Daroga has lost years of his life as a passenger when Erik’s driving
He’s skilled, just reckless AF
Music is always turned up to the max
It’s giving Baby Driver (2017)
Seatbelt? Never heard of her, if we die we die
You haven’t seen road rage until you’ve seen this guy’s road rage
When he’s not driving, he is the WORST backseat driver
I’m thinking a black 1967 Ford Mustang (classic, sleek, timeless)
Raoul:
Family bought him his first car when he turned 16 (Porsche or something fancy)
He wrecked it like a week later while out with his friends, his brother made him pay out of his own pocket to get it fixed, he learned his lesson
Loves his car a little too much
Under NO circumstances can you bring food into his car
Christine spilled her coffee in his car once and they almost broke up over it
Pretty decent driving record, has a few speeding tickets and a suspension but that’s about it
Definitely the guy who insists he doesn’t need a GPS, but actually doesn’t know directions (Christine always has to pull up Google Maps and guide them back to civilization when they get lost)
Daroga:
Designated driver 24/7 (he’s the only responsible one)
Perfect driving record (he got a parking violation once, argued with the people over the phone about it so much that they just dropped it)
Usually it’s him driving, Christine in the passenger seat, and Erik and Raoul in the back fighting like siblings
“You two better behave or I will turn this car around!” - Daroga, at some point
Will yell at you for turning on the overhead light, complains he cannot see due to the reflection (he’s so dad-coded I swear)
Drives a Mercedes or some other fancy minivan
The other three always ask him for help when moving something heavy, since he has the biggest car (it annoys him but he does it anyway)
I’m thinking of making these modern!AU headcanons a series, so stick around for more or reply with ideas for more headcanons!
#poto#Phantom of the Opera#phantom of the opera#christine daae#raoul de chagny#erik#daroga#nadir khan/daroga#modern!au#headcanons#give me more ideas for these if you like them!#this is definitely not me procrastinating on my upcoming fic chapter

Series Review: Ark: The Animated Series, the excellence between games and dinosaurs

Dinosaurs and their prehistoric world are something that has continued to fascinate the audience for decades, each reinvention in their stories and presentations, whether in films, television series, documentaries, comics, novels, collectible figures, video games, etc., has its place and success among locals and strangers, with children being the ones who have enjoyed these colossal creatures the most. Whether there are original stories or adaptations, it is difficult for everything to be and feel authentic and credible, for what we are going to see hear or read to capture us and take us on a journey where we can interact and feel part of a world in which that we interact with the main characters and of course the dinosaurs. Steven Spielberg is largely to blame because dinosaurs have been reinvented and modernized. In 1992 he adapted the popular novel written by Michael Crichton for the film Jurassic Park, already considered a science fiction classic and which gave way to a long franchise. cinema and video games have not been the exception, cases such as the Turok, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Dino Crisis, Primal Rage, and Ark franchises have been very popular on consoles such as Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation, in which as players we can defend and defend ourselves against these creatures. In the very particular case of Ark (2015) things are reinvented, and in 2024 the popular game releases an animated series that is deceptively not for a children's audience, promising that what will be seen is explicit and violent entertainment for adults.
What is the series about?
Helena Walker (Madeleine Madden) is an Australian paleontologist who suddenly wakes up and finds herself alone in the middle of a vast ocean. After being attacked and escaping from a megalodon, she arrives ashore on a strange island where she meets Bob (Karl Urban). ) and a wild Dodo, together with them she will discover a strange new world inhabited by dinosaurs, warring tribes, and strange technology, making new allies and new enemies Helena will do whatever it takes to survive and hopefully find a way to return to his world and his time. As an audience that is apart from video games, the premise immediately reminds us of the animated series Primal (2019) created by Genndy Tartakovsky in which we see a prehistoric man and a dinosaur living dangerous adventures and facing ruthless enemies, we could say that this is not It is so original and that it falls into the modern cliché of we already know that they will survive but at the same time we enjoy the emotion and action. Although we know that the genre of science fiction and action films based on video games have not had the expected success among the public, some of them have been strongly criticized for their lack of originality and a good story, unlike others that have the opposite problem, a story that is too long, this has been compared in a way where for example a few hours of gameplay can cover the same amount with ten minutes of the film, resulting in a much longer adaptation in which explore different perspectives of the same story. Ark: The Animated Series has a long and concrete story that still gives a lot to adapt, the concept of narrating in a non-linear way allows itself to be longer and cover more seasons to know the greatest part of the game's story and this in turn can be divided so that it can work in a television format for all those who do not know or have not played the video game. The latter is the highest point it has to present, everything is explained in each of the 6 episodes that make up this first part of the first season: Element 1 Paleontologist Helena Walker wakes up on an island full of strange beasts where she will have to adapt and survive along with Bob.

Element 2 Helena flees from the explorers/hunters led by Nerva when she meets a new ally named Meiyin who will help her discover this new and dangerous world.

Element 3 Helena and Meiyin along the way find new allies in a tree-dwelling village led by a Lakota warrior and his adopted daughter, a disease that ravages the villagers brings everyone together in a quest to find a cure.

Element 4 Helena and her allies try to free prisoners in a mining camp, when Helena's plans go awry, she and Alasie are captured.

Element 5 Nerva unleashes a harsh surprise attack against John's village, the casualties among the population are noticeable and he will have the help of someone unexpected.

Element 6 On the verge of discovering how to return to Helena's time and place, John and Henry risk everything to rescue Meiyin from Nerva's cruelty.

During the development of these episodes, we meet the characters from different periods of history between the past and the future, Helena meets and befriends Meiyin Li (Michelle Yeoh) an archer from the Chinese Han dynasty who tries to free the people of Ark from the tyranny of the Roman general Gaius Marcellus Nerva (Gerard Butler), Nerva is a conqueror who intends to dominate the entire island, there is also the Lakota archer (Zahn McClarnon), the young Inuit healer Alasie (Devery Jacobs). Together, they will also try to fight against the true villain of this series, Sir Edmund Rockwell (David Tennant), a Victorian scientist who betrayed Meiyin and seeks to exploit Ark in his way and who with the alliance he has with Nerva and the help of the three artifacts, (Green, red and blue) plan to take the army they have made in Ark out of that time vortex and conquer our time and reality. Comparisons and changes between the series and the video game are inevitable. If we put it in another context, the story is told differently and has a freer adaptation. The story of these episodes, just like in the game, requires a dose of graphic and explicit violence that characterizes it, this being a material for adults that is completely removed from a typical story, mixing elements of the past with technology from the future makes it have a plus point in its development even though this element is not entirely original. At the end of episode 6 we are already clear that Ark is a prefabricated world with a specific purpose that is at a point between the past and the future where it serves as a training ground for something bigger that we do not yet know, this is the part in which screenwriters Marguerite Bennett and Kendall Deacon Davis join forces with video game creators Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak to create an alternate story that contains different elements and can be seen from a freer perspective that gives them the opportunity to do things that They were not contemplated for the game saga, nor is there a moral message that empowers women or that what is important is love, family, collaboration, friendship or that praises their inclusion and diversity and blah blah blah, it is very Of course, this is an audiovisual show with a deep background that involves and focuses more on survival than on the path of a hero, which there is but it is not something that has to be present at every moment, there is so much to see and There's so much to tell that they don't waste time on situations that lead nowhere or on filler sequences that only get in the way and don't contribute, here they get straight to the point. The structure of its main story allows each character to have a presentation, a motive, and a clear and concise characterization. As the story progresses, the mysteries develop subplots that involve everyone and a more general and broader visualization is offered. of what this world is and what we as viewers can expect, seeing with care and detail so many characters from different times, spaces and cultures coming together to defend their habitat is a feat in itself and a great achievement, each one has a personality defined that makes them unique. As an adaptation of a game that complies with the rule and the main objective of the protagonist which is survival, we see that Helena, being alone in a wild and dangerous world, needs Meiyin and her group to carry out this main mission, the environment of Ark It is relentless and constantly changing as Helena and Meiyin have to face different dangers to find food, shelter and allies, which means they must stay alert at all times and test themselves how far they will go to stay alive. alive and able to escape this world and return to his time. The structure of its story and subplots is what allows itself to have a non-linear development in which we see flashbacks where Helena continues to remember the loss of her partner Victoria (Elliot Page). Although we know that she is not alone and that he has new friends in Ark, pain is always present and is what he uses as a motivator to get out of each of the dangers, if before he had the cowardice of wanting to commit suicide, now it is the opposite, his desire to survive and returning to where it belongs is stronger than anything else, a more realistic representation of post-traumatic stress disorder in a more nuanced and understandable recreation, the dinosaurs play a vital supporting role, they are not only beasts of burden but they are also part of the environment, whether domesticated or wild, those that are at the service of warriors and those that are pets, and their best moments are when they bond with humans. The animation is a mix between traditional and very moderate CGI, which makes it visually impressive, having a great aesthetic reference from anime with Western influence, each shot made by directors Jeremy Stieglitz, Jay Oliva, David Hartman, Sebastian Montes, and Chase Conley It looks and feels realistic, all the characters resemble historically real people and the aesthetics of their time, creating a feeling of unity within this great diversity, the design of the dinosaurs is carefully cared for in detail, giving them a texture and personality So that they look and feel as real as possible within what their animation allows, we see them dirty, with scales, with feathers of varied and bright colors, with movements and expressions closer to the representations that we already know. The sound design is another element that plays greatly in favor of the plot, sounds of animals, fauna in general, clashes in fights, the humming of insects, and even the waves of the sea are felt and appreciated as something that They were taken from a real world, each sound is strategically designed and recorded to be remixed and provides indispensable support to what we see, together with the animation the work results in something impeccable. The impressive voice cast includes Madeleine Madden, Gerard Butler, David Tennant, Michelle Yeoh, Zahn McClarnon, Devery Jacobs, Jeffrey Wright, Karl Urban, Elliot Page, Malcolm McDowell, Alan Tudyk, Vin Diesel, Russell Crowe and Monica Bellucci. each one understands their character and they do the best they can with the script, each one of them works very well with their character perfectly in their role, from subtle and harmonious voices to those that are stronger, dominant, and authoritarian, and important detail to What is worth mentioning and what must be celebrated in a production like this is that each Australian indigenous or aboriginal character has a voice actor appropriate for their race. Gareth Coker is the perfect composer for the music of this series, his previous works include Ori and the Blind Forest, ARK: Survival Evolved, ARK: Survival Ascended, and Halo Infinite, it has pieces that very subtly sample what was made for the video game having these his personality and participation in each episode, which makes it a complete and very entertaining audiovisual show, an impeccable work that helps its plot and does not remain just background noise. Despite the delay due to the global situation of the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the lack of promotion by Paramount, the series arrives at a time when this platform can consolidate its productions while being up to date. height of what Apple TV has done, they are not just filler programs, they are products that can be very well positioned to the audience's taste, compared to the HALO live-action experiment that did not work, this series works better than anyone could expect exceeding any expectations. In conclusion, Ark: The Animated Series shows us that good adaptations of video games with a good story can be made in the right hands, works like this are the ones that pleasantly surprise us when we are looking for something different and exciting in a very misunderstood genre in a time in which any adaptation, sequel, prequel or reboot is already synonymous with failure, although the series is not so original, its concept is very well managed and focused on what it wants to convey to us, it is not just more entertainment, it is a job which dignifies its genre and gives the possibility of having more seasons, which we are already looking forward to. Ark: The Animated Series arrives on the Paramount + platform this April 19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeDurRFxXTI Read the full article

THE HALLOWEEN MASTER PLAYLIST
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and listening to some spooky music and watching horror films is mandatory if you’re really going to get into the spirit of the thing. (I eat candy, and dress like a hobo year-round, so that part of it was a given.) So I thought I’d post a master playlist of seasonal music a few weeks early in case any of you wanted to put something together for your own enjoyment, or maybe a Halloween party you might be planning.
Thinking outside the box (or coffin, if you prefer) I managed to do it without using Monster Mash or The Purple People Eater. But, there are roughly a hundred titles here, and I promise you if you turn down the lights, and close your eyes when you begin listening to it, you’ll have turned every light in the house back on, and double-locked every door.
Happy haunting.

a pawned wedding ring, skin tanned by the afternoon sun, sweat on your brow and grease on your face, hickies as a love language, a 1959 plymouth sport, cherry pie and red wine, growing up as one of the boys, switching languages mid-sentence, good food and good company, reminding yourself big girls don't cry, pretending you don't still miss her.
❝ I have love inside me. But I don’t know how to use love. --Sometimes it scratches like barbs. ❞
Supply list: tools and parts to repair machinery, police issue firearm and handcuffs, first aid kit and extra ppe from work, baking ingredients, an impressive wine supply, and a small herb/veggie garden growing in the window sill.
Gender & Pronouns: Cis Female & She/Her Sexuality: Lesbian Birthplace: New Jersey Room #: Studio 707 Years at the Wexley: Two
Valerii was born into blue blood; a family who’s connections to law enforcement ran deep through the generations. Being the youngest of six, and the only girl at that, Val spent most of her life fighting to be taken seriously. With her father as the commissioner of the NJPD, mom in the running for assistant district attorney, and brothers various ranks within the police force–choosing her career wasn’t a question of picking a job, but deciding if she wanted to be a bigger pariah than she already was. She went to school for forensic science and became a crime scene investigator with the Jersey crime lab, which was good enough to keep her in the family’s good graces.
She was married by her mid-twenties and divorced by her early thirties. The same drive for her work that led Val to a CSI level three promotion, also led to her wife serving her with papers for neglecting their marriage. After the divorce Val wanted a fresh start and crossed state lines to join with NY crime lab as a nightshift assistant supervisor. She got a condo at the Wexley and focused on building a new life–one that wasn’t focused on pleasing her family.
Val’s been able to devote a lot more time to her passion project of restoring classic cars. Her pride and joy is a 1959 cherry red Cadillac that’s been sitting in a storage unit downtown since the divorce.
Previous Zombie Experience: She was working a night shift at the lab when a body reanimated and attacked a coworker. Killing it with a scalpel through the eye, Val barely had time to process what had happened before another body began to rise.

1969-71 Continental Mark III
Iacocca’s Lincoln: The Inside Story of the 1969-71 Continental Mark III
Lee Iacocca is remembered as the father of the Ford Mustang and the Chrysler Minivan, but there was another Iacocca vehicle that changed the Motor City: the Lincoln Continental Mark III.
In auto industry lore, the design studio guys hate it when the people from upper management start fooling around with their work. Nothing good can come from that, or so the story goes. But there’s at least one instance that cuts against the grain of that familiar Motor City tale. It was Ford senior executive Lee Iacocca who originated the two signature styling features of the Lincoln Continental Mark III: the classic stand-up grille and the faux tire bustle in the deck lid.
It’s no exaggeration to note that these visual features created a design theme and defined the Lincoln Mark Series brand for decades. Years later, lead designer L. David Ash would recall that neither he nor Styling VP Gene Bordinat had conceived these two now-famous design gadgets; no, in fact it was all Iacocca. “Neither one of us would have done it on our own, I’m sure,” Ash remembered. “I have to give Lee credit for that.”

As vice president of the Ford Motor Company’s car and truck group—top product boss, among other duties—Lido Anthony “Lee” Iacocca had at least two problems on his plate in the autumn of 1965. First, sales of the Ford Thunderbird had flattened out after a promising start years earlier. Meanwhile, Ford’s flagship Lincoln division wasn’t setting the world on fire, either. While the Elwood Engel-designed 1961 Lincoln was a style maker of the decade, it was nearing the end of its product cycle. Actually, Lincoln was a perennial problem for Ford senior management. According to Bordinat, it had never turned an actual profit since Henry and Edsel Ford acquired the company from the Lelands in 1922.
So a plan was hatched to build a new, small Lincoln on the same platform as the Thunderbird, which was switching to body-on-frame construction for 1967 (in part due to limited production volume). This would help the Thunderbird fill out production capacity at the Wixom, Michigan plant, and it would give Lincoln an entry in the rapidly expanding personal-luxury category, joining the Buick Riviera, Cadillac Eldorado, Olds Toronado, et alia.

The original body design by Ash and his staff, at one point named the Lancelot, was clean and elegant but lacked visual punch, one could argue. Iacocca’s fake-Rolls grille shell and spare-tire bump fixed that, creating a distinctive and memorable look. It was said that the chrome grille shell was the most expensive such piece in the industry, with a unit cost nearing $200. Ash and crew completed the theme by hiking up the rear quarters and deck lid two inches, scrunching the roof down into the body for a classic ’30s profile.
From its exterior appearance, you might never know that the finished design shared its greenhouse with the Thunderbird coupe, or its floorpan, black metal, and 117.2-inch wheelbase with the T-Bird four-door. When Henry Ford II saw the clay model in the studio, he reportedly said, “I’d like to drive that home.” With the Ford family’s seal of approval secured, the new car was christened the Continental Mark III, establishing its lineage with Edsel Ford’s original 1939 Continental and the Continental Mark II of 1956-57. At that point the previous Mark III, IV and V models of 1958-60 were conveniently forgotten—today it would be called a reboot.

Introduced in April 1968 as a 1969 model, technically (Lincoln division downplayed model year designations, trying to present the car as “timeless”) the Mark III was panned by the critics but embraced by the car-buying public. “The buffs may not like it but the people with money will,” Bordinat wisely predicted. The Mark wasn’t big for an American luxury car at just over 216 inches long and 4,800 lbs, but it was big enough, with solid road manners and a comfortable ride. Interior specialist Herman Brunn covered the seats with rich, pre-creased leather, like the easy chairs in a men’s club. Noteworthy technical features included an all-new 460 CID V8 and Sure-Track, an early form of antilock braking developed by Kelsey-Hayes.
With a base price of $6,758 compared to $4,807 for its Thunderbird cousin, the Mark III was quite a moneymaker for the Motor Company, spawning an even more popular and profitable successor, the Mark IV (shown with Iacocca below). The Mark series, which comfortably outsold the Eldorado and effectively doubled the Lincoln division’s volume at times, continued on all the way to 1998 and the Mark VIII, and Iacocca would to on to further glories, including the Chrysler Minivan.

Big Kahuna Bash 5 - Part 3

For my second drink I got the Mai Tai. It was great.

Dale got a Coors Light.

Perfect weather for the event.

A couple of classic cars were driven to the event. Dale poses here with a Plymouth. How do you get parts for something like this when repairs are needed?

I'm posing with a Cadillac Coupe de Ville. This car gets referenced by Joan Blondelle in a one of our favorite movies, Desk Set.

The best dressed award went to Dr. Frankenstein and The Bride. The event was judged by the artist joSH AGle (SHAG). He flew out from California and actually MC'd the whole event.

The Ultimate Guide to Luxury Car Rental for Weddings: A Timeless Choice for Your Big Day
A wedding is one of the most memorable days in a person's life, and every detail—from the venue to the flowers—plays a role in making it extraordinary. Among these details, transportation is often overlooked, yet it plays a crucial part in adding elegance and sophistication to the event. Luxury car rentals for weddings have become a popular choice for couples looking to make a grand entrance and capture stunning photographs.
In this guide, we explore why renting a luxury car for a wedding is a timeless investment, how to choose the right vehicle, and real-life examples of couples who elevated their special day with premium wedding transportation.
Why Choose a Luxury Car Rental for Wedding?
1. Elegance & Prestige
A luxury car exudes class and sophistication. Whether it’s a classic Rolls-Royce or a sleek Bentley, arriving in a high-end vehicle enhances the ambiance of your wedding and sets the tone for the day.
2. Comfort & Convenience
Brides and grooms often have a long day filled with various events. A luxury car rental provides unparalleled comfort, with plush seating, climate control, and a smooth ride—perfect for calming pre-ceremony nerves.
3. Picture-Perfect Memories
Luxury cars are not just about transportation; they make for stunning backdrops in wedding photos. A well-maintained, beautifully designed vehicle adds a cinematic touch to wedding albums and videos.
4. Stress-Free Travel
With a professional chauffeur at the wheel, couples can focus on their big day without worrying about traffic, parking, or navigation. Most luxury car rental services offer trained drivers who ensure a seamless experience.
5. Impress Guests & Elevate the Experience
From the moment you arrive at your wedding venue, a luxury car makes a statement. Whether it's a grand entrance or a stylish departure, it leaves a lasting impression on guests.
How to Choose the Right Luxury Car for Your Wedding
1. Consider the Wedding Theme
Classic & Vintage Theme: Opt for a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a 1960s Bentley, or a Cadillac for a timeless, elegant look.
Modern & Chic Theme: A sleek Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, or a Tesla Model S can add a contemporary touch.
Royal & Grand Theme: Limousines or high-end SUVs like the Range Rover Autobiography create a regal feel.
2. Match the Car to Your Attire
Your car should complement your wedding dress and suit. If your outfit is elaborate and flowing, a spacious luxury sedan may be the best choice for comfort.
3. Prioritize Comfort & Practicality
While sports cars like Lamborghinis or Ferraris are impressive, they may not always be practical for a wedding. Ensure the vehicle is spacious enough for your needs.
4. Book in Advance
Luxury wedding cars are in high demand, especially during peak wedding seasons. Booking at least 3–6 months in advance ensures availability and better rates.
5. Check for Customization Options
Some rental services offer options to customize the car with wedding décor, ribbons, or even a personalized "Just Married" sign. Confirm these options before finalizing the booking.

OKAY LFG
f1 - 10 teams, 20 drivers
ferrari - repped by tifosi, the car runs on hopes and dreams, charles leclerc is their patron saint and one of their drivers, the other driver is the one and only sir lewis hamilton (he has 7 world driver championships, use to be with mercedes)
mclaren - the papayas (pretentious fucks and my favorite team), fastest car on the grid as of now, Lando Norris (loudmouth, everyone hates him like damn) is basically the face of the brand and oscar piastri is kimi raikkonen reincarnate
redbull - i dont think any redbull fan is there for anyone other than max, the car is decent, max is working overtime (and won 4 wdcs for it) and the second seat is cursed after daniel riccardo left it (liam lawson is its latest victim, 5th one now but no one rlly likes bro)
mercedes - definition of a tik tok ass found family, the car is always facing its ups and downs, george russell is a meme lord and toto wolf claims that kimi antonelli is the second coming of senna
racing bulls - redbulls sister team that chnages their name every other fucking year, lowkey neglected but we still stan anyways because yuki is cool as fuck (swears like a sailor tho for being 5'3) and issac hadjar is just a little guy (newbs)
haas - literally the middest car known to mankind but give them a break they've been making pace slowly, drivers are estie bestie (half the community hates him because hes french, the other half bc he drives like a blind man, and like he has a small fanbase tho somehow) and ollie bearman (a cutie but hes buns in a haas like he bins endlessly)
aston martin - daddys money 101, lance strolls dad owns the team and lets just say lance cant drive for shit, and their second driver is the classic Shakespeare villain of his time alonso (also am now has adrian newey who is the car whisperer he made rbr a rocket for the last 2 years)
williams - so broke they use to track their parts on an excel spreedsheet, a historical team with the most ass results, currently hosting carlos sainz (who left ferrari and gave up a one year mercedes contract for.... williams?) and alex albon (animal aficionado, also one of the 5 victims of redbull seat #2)
alpine - french. slow as fuck. lowkey the car eats this year tho. drivers are jack doohan (son of motorsport legend mick doohan, he got into driving bc of michael schumacher) and pierre gasly (one of the many redbull seat #2 victims, but lowkey goated because he won a gp in a racing bulls car)
stake sauber - they're becoming audi in 2026, and by god their car is the fucking worst thing ive ever seen come out of f1 design and functionality wise, drivers are nico hulkenburg (mr. no podium and no wins) and gabriel bortoleto (back to back f2/f3 champ, also known as bubbles)
things you probably need to know -
team principals - assholes who run the team, some are lowkey villains (like christian horner (redbull) and zak brown (mclaren))
all the teams are fighting for one things, a world constructors championship while the drivers fight for another, the world drivers championship
f1 will be getting another american team on the grid soon - cadillac, making it 11 teams and 22 drivers
there is SO much drama. some beef that has happened - george russell v max verstappen/lando norris v max verstappen/everyone v max verstappen (jk there is mroe beef but these are ones that have majorly happened in the last year)
never ask an f1 fan what happened in abu dhabi 2021, especially not a lewis hamilton stan
my brain just processed so much info i-
this is kinda cool as shit bro
