So this was going around on TwitTM and I'd just like to mention

a. I know various people within 10~30~ min from this area from all directions; b. U.M. (which also offers a lot of classes including non-graded summer courses, ...so there's always people around) is not very far from there either; c. I've been by + in surrounding areas multiple times; d. I just... don't know how to explain to people how it can genuinely still be scary at times in F.L. in general; e. There were multiple times I've worn cos-play, J-fash, etc. while grabbing Star-bucks and the like and worried about such things happening to me. (Including before 2k15 too...) f. Historically some of my fam has lived in Gables area before too {among other areas before that}, we've just {pretty much} all moved from there since, so this location was newer due to it being Star-bucks. g. The couple wasn't even from F.L., they flew in, and the initial rant wasn't even aimed at them UNTIL they spoke up (because the person clearly saw them as an easy target which was still bad too)

I've never played any of the NBA 2k games but I just stumbled across NBA 2k15 and its absolutely buckwild voice acting. I am weeping openly. You take these absolutely world-class athletes, the pinnacle of human ability in their sport, guys possessed of incredible willpower and focus to match their talent and physical prowess, but you put them in a recording booth and they can't string 3 words together convincingly. This is like a parody of bad voiceacting.

Why even give them a script? Why not give them some prompts and let them go off the cuff and speak naturally, then get the professional voice actors to respond in the booth?

Instead they handed these 7 foot 15 inch dudes some lines to read and they barely managed to make it sound like the guy in your group project who hasn't done any work all year. I'm sick.

I’m no longer frantically trying to write and start a class at the same time so I wanna revisit the “Jaskier isn’t a main character” thing.

So big disclaimer: I’m pulling mostly off my memory of the books which I’ve only vaguely revisited since I read them back in 2k15 so if someone wants to correct me on book lore go for it but. Jaskier.

He’s a super important character for Geralt and Geralt’s character arc through the novels. He’s his best friend, arguably the only human to ever hook onto him and not let go. In the context of the novels, he’s one of the only things in Geralt’s life untouched by fate--they both choose each other, over and over again. We see the most of him in The Last Wish, Sword of Destiny, and Season of Storms...all the prequel novels that are ultimately about Geralt.

Jaskier is part of Geralt’s story in whatever context you want to interpret that. 

The rest of the novels? That’s Ciri’s story, her story arc. Yeah, Geralt’s still out “main” character, but the series is decentered from his narrative by Ciri’s which is at least as, if not more than, important as his own. We see Jaskier mainly when Geralt is separated from and searching for Ciri. That is MUCH later than Ciri’s training at Kaer Mohen.

So while we will absolutely be seeing Jaskier again, he may not have a super huge role next season. And that’s fine. This is Ciri’s story. Jaskier will be back.

somehow she always tries to spit on people who had been annoying him recently - and them only

sometimes she spits on Donghyuck for no reason

jeno laughs and says its because she has a crush on him

uses magic for the dumbest things just because he can

he mastered the wingardium leviosa spell within a week because he couldn't be bothered getting up to get things

when he gets close to graduation, hes pretty much practicing simple wandless magic

once freaked out the first years because jaemin charmed a storm cloud to hang around him for an entire day

it flashed lightning when he got particularly annoyed, which was a lot because that cloud was annoying as shit

has a really old owl that literally looks evil but has called it something like “snuggles”

laughs when he unintentionally swoops too low and skims other students’ heads on mail day

buys all his friends gifts during the holidays and comes back with bags filled with fun shit

pretends he never buys gifts for chenle and jisung

always ends up giving them more

cause hes soft like that

but he headlocks them after to show his dominance

has a habit of throwing his cases in the general direction of the dorm when he comes back from holidays and accidentally hitting other students

plays quidditch in his free time

debates strategies with Jeno during their free periods

gets called a traitor by his own captain

couldnt really give a shit about his own team, he prefers to support his friends

wears his school uniform properly and is the only one in the group who does so

and majority of the time they play really well

though its clear his focus is on quidditch, he still does really well in his classes

cant cook but is somehow rlly good at potions??

has a slightly damaged snitch that he carries around with him at all times

one of the wings broke during his first ever game of quidditch and he never got rid of it

he keeps it in the pocket of his robes and fiddles with it when he's anxious about something

has a really good poker face when he's stressed and you'd never know until you hear the soft clicking of his hand playing with it in his pocket while he studies

has a terrible poker face when something confuses him though

during class its so obvious when he doesnt get something

and its always getting him into trouble for wandering into the off-limits areas of the castle or into the restricted section of the library

but there was nothing wrong with the cat

had a major glow-up between 6th and 7th year and everyone fell in love with him lmao

like everyone knew he was fit from quidditch but they didnt know he was that fit you know

got detention but honestly the professor was so pleased with his progress it was only a one hour session

i know you don’t care about the USWNT anymore but i’ve been here since the trashlyn ship days back in 2k15 and i was in high school and couldn’t afford to go to any games etc. because my family was lower class and now i’m in college and next summer i’ll be interning for U.S. Soccer and hopefully in the future i’ll get to travel and work with the team. hard work really does pay off.

I feel you, but of the guys who asked me out, one is a not super close friend from high school who i really haven’t talked to since we graduated (class of 2k15 so like it’s been a while) and like the whole thing is super awkward already, another is a dude i apparently met at a halloween party that like i don’t even remember meeting and who found me through my friend’s instagram and based on snooping his instagram i can guarantee it would not work out, and the third is this dude i’m in a program with who i’ve spoken to like three times and who’s a massive dick (and who now thinks i have a boyfriend lol) so like i’m not really into any of these options.

And as for asking a friend to set me up, it could work, but like I said in the original post, I’m really awkward and my current state of wanting to go on a date is definitely based on me already like-liking whoever i’m going on a date with.

So like thanks for the ideas and like theoretically they’re really good but i’m in a really weird mood with these hypothetical dates i want to go on and my brain is being really picky about them haha
