#class does play a part in how criston is treated… but if his race had nothing to do with it

i'm not sure even in the fantasy world of westeros that person of colour thing applies (not to mention it's a bit reductive to place all poc as interchangeably united when in the real world plenty non-white races are super racist against each other). for people in westeros though, the velaryons being black isn't a thing as much as them being valyrian, but being "dornish" is definitely a thing since they have these ugly stereotypes about their food, their sexuality, the colour of their skin (three different ways to call them "other" aka salt, stone and sand).
plus wouldn't it be more about class than race? criston being looked down on because of his low birth and vaemond being so adamant that a bastard shouldn't inherit. okay my point is, i can't see it (unless maeve just has some other type of understanding with criston).
Well.. that’s ok if you can’t see it
#I just laid out the connection between the two#if you don’t see… I can’t force you lmao#class does play a part in how criston is treated… but if his race had nothing to do with it#there would be no reason for ‘gosh he dornish’ to be the first thing out of Alicent’s mouth#also seems counter productive to me not to point out#it can be isolating being in predominately white spaces and how people of color should/do seek each other out
