February PT 1

to watch the world spin - mon rovia

A very underrated artist that I believe deserves more traction. The song is so comforting and smooth that I felt like it was a perfect start to February.

2. bags - clairo

A few days beforehand one of my best friends had texted me asking if I like Clairo. Of course I do. That same day in the mail I got a CD of Clairo's album Charm. It really freaked me out getting the package because I hadn't put it together why my friend could have been asking me that. I just know that my dad texted me while I was at work and said that I had a package. I thought it was a bomb. Thank God it wasn't.

3. denial is a river - doechii

DOECHII WON A GRAMMY! She won the day before and I really like her music, so I added her to the list. Will never get tired of this song. She deserved that win and I her performance was one of the bests of the night.

4. this time last year - kelsea ballerini

A country song. See I exclusively listen to Women country artists. Mainly Kelsea Ballerini and Kacey Musgraves.

5. needy - kelsea ballerini

Another Kelsea Ballerini song and I was trying not to do the same artist multiple times in a row, but I couldn't help it. I should have known it was going to happen eventually. I do really enjoy Kelsea Ballerini's music because its a mix of country and pop that I enjoy. I am now a certified fan of hers after listening to this song on REPEAT.

6. blast off - silk sonic

I forgot how good Silk Sonic is. I haven't listened to their album since it first came out in 2021 and at the time my favorite song was Skate but now it is this one. I can't explain it, but WOW.

7. nissan altima - doechii

I couldn't help it. I had to add another Doechii song. This song actually led me to getting in a playful argument with my coworker and friend. He was listening to this song and I was like, "finally, I told you to listen so long ago." and he said, "No I found this song by myself." Men never appreciate the things women do for them...

8. billy (yeah, yeah, yeah) - inhaler

my favorite Irish band with my favorite nepotism lead singer. Their music is so good, and I can definitely see them being mainstream one day. They did open for Harry Styles at one point in time. However, some of them don't use shampoo when washing their hair and just wash it with conditioner which lowkey gave me an ick.

9. tv off - kendrick lamar, left gunplay

The halftime show was so good and for those who didn't get it go back to English class because your comprehension skills are terrible. I wasn't the biggest fan of Kendrick before, not because of anything about him, I just didn't listen to much of his music, but he is now in my rotation a lot more.

10. i'm not that girl - cynthia erivo (wicked)

I was singing this song to myself so much that I started dreaming about singing it. It is such a good song that if I had known that Wicked existed when I was eight, I would have most definitely listened to it on repeat while watching my elementary crush.

11. basic being basic - djo

I've been a big fan of Djo for years. Many people are surprised that its Steve Harrington from Stranger Things behind the name and music, but if they knew the lore, they would know that Joe Keery was originally in a band called Post Animal before he went by the name Djo.
