summary: you meet claire after not seeing her in a while, you both used to be insanely infatuated with eachother, but as you both moved on in life parting each ways after highschool, you found eachother again. but something has changed-- your confidence was at all time low.

you whispered to her, "but i look better in the dark." your glossy eyes looking up at her, your lips pink and puffy, slightly parted. you stood there, longing for her touch. but truly-- you were afraid of the way she would see you and change the way she felt for you, and when the sunlight meets the dark, you wouldn't be the one she wanted. you shuttered at the thought of her rejection. her soft and tender voice parted you through your thoughts. "darling, that wouldn't ever change the way i would feel for you." her enchanting voice reassuring you. her hand combed through your hair, hearing claire smile through her words. you imagined her eyes slightly squinting, her beaming, contagious smile. her words reassure you almost immediately, your once tense and stiff body soften and lean into claire's touch. her soft and long arms drape around you acting as curtains and shielding you. your face warming up, but that feeling was addicting, and so was the pit in your stomach. you face rested in the nook of her neck. claire kissed the top of your hair and softly brushed through your hair. her voice croaked out, interrupting the silence. "you couldn't ever be someone i wouldn't adore, the way you carry yourself, the way you speak and laugh. i couldn't not love you. i'd be insane if i were to not be infatuated with you." you felt her mouth smile again against your head. you raised your head and pecked her lips. her nose scrunching up and you giggled, your dried up tears left little marks. and even when the morning sunlight surrounded you, and you felt safe in her arms. you weren't scared if you fell asleep in her arms and she saw the way you saw truly, she wouldn't be replused, and infact she was endeared by your natural and true beauty.

you met claire at a small gathering with close friends and adored her, with all honesty have always been drawn to claire’s captivating personality, she’s always been a soft spoken and a gentle nature, she’s smart, talented, sweet basically everything you’d ever want in a girl, you were always secretly wishing to see her. but when you hung out with your friends, that’s when you guys have became inseparable since then. you love claire truly you and for a good reason too.

you stood in front of the stove dressed up in pjs, your hair tied up in a aimless messy hairstyle, you stirred the pot of tea in circles and you hummed a tune to yourself, as you hear shuffling from behind you claire had withdraw herself from her book and attended to you into the kitchen. approaching you from behind she stretched her long arms around you and enveloped you into her hug. she rested her head and softly mumbled to herself that went undetected to your ears.

the sound of the bubbles boiling in your pot and the steam grazing your cheeks and the tip of your nose, the scent of london fog carried out the room, you smile softly and ask “what is it ?” stirring the tea with a spoon, placing your free hand over hers. “nothing, just need you close to me.” her face pressed against your back, you could feel her warm face heating up your body.

her wavy, delicate and fine brown hair fell and covered her eyes. creating a barrier between her and the skin your now. “teas ready now, you want any?” you cut through the silence, you felt her nod and you turned stove off. she pulled away and grinned at you, her eyes crinkling in the corners, such pure beauty that no one could ever replace in your life. her eyes were full of endearment, her eyes were so soft and blue, the most perfect blue—not too dark not too light. she’s beyond comparable. you spin to pour the tea into a cup, infusing sugar and honey into claire’s and your tea. as you clinked the spoon against the rim of the mug. your head rose to look at claire and laid a peck on her nose, causing her to scrunch it up. you giggled, holding your hand to your mouth before pulling her close into your embrace. her once tense body slowly resting into your arms. you could feel her love melt into you, you worship the ground she walks on, you would do anything for this girl, and she would too. you were a match made in heaven.

“i love you” you mumbled into her hair, “i love you too.”
