For Week 3-4, Would Cindy x Frankenstein's monster be okay instead of CindyxEzekeil?
You can write whatever you want whenever you want, really, if that’s what works best for your time frame than go ahead!
 Although, since Cindy/Frankenstein’s Monster is certainly a rare pairing (which is great! i love it! i’m excited!) may I remind you that Week One is ENTIRELY devoted to rare pairings and the rarest of all pairings are the ones that have never even met.
I specifically included rare pairing week first to give us a fun, easy, imaginative place to start the shipathon off from, so if rarepairs are your thing know that while pretty much anything can be posted at any time during the shipathon, this year we have a specific rarepair week to fill up with content!

Title: “Cookies and Architecture”
Fandom: The Librarians (TNT Series)
Notes: look at that it’s the flynnstone sequel to the cizekiel coffee shop au i wrote forever ago that nobody asked for!! i have no excuses for this other than a serious hurting for some flynnstone content…
“You know you could just…talk to him.”
Jake glanced at Ezekiel (his roommate, reluctant best/childhood friend, and fellow barista at the Annex) and squinted at him. “What’re you talking about, Jones?”
Ezekiel shrugged. He was leant against the café counter; a sunflower was pinned to his apron. “Just, y’know…Flynn.”
“Shut up, Ezekiel,” Jake quickly snapped, hating the way that his cheeks grew warm. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, really?” Ezekiel said with a smirk. “You don’t know Flynn Carsen, the history professor that lives in the apartments down the street? The guy who orders the same hot chocolate every morning because, and I quote, ‘coffee is an abomination to this earth…no offense.’ The guy who once told you he liked your scarf so now you wear it every Friday. The guy who-.”
“Uh, excuse me?” They both turned to the front counter to find Flynn Carsen himself, a tiny bemused smile on his face. Jake felt like his own face was on fire.
Ezekiel waggled his eyebrows at Jake before he turned back to Flynn and said, “What’s up, Professor Carsen?”
“I was wondering if I could get a cookie to go? Chocolate chip if you have some,” Flynn said, his small smile still in place.
“Well, lemme see,” Ezekiel said. Without even looking, he continued, “Looks like we don’t have any up front-.”
“Ezekiel, there’s some right there,” Jake practically growled at him.
Ezekiel went on as if he hadn’t even spoken. “So lemme go check in the back for you as Jake rings you up, okay, mate?”
“Uh, sure,” Flynn said with a nod and a confused frown as Ezekiel disappeared into the back of the coffee shop. He pulled out his wallet, glancing at Jake with a smile. “How are you, Jake?”
“I-uh-pretty good,” Jake mumbled, grabbing the ten-dollar bill Flynn proffered to him. “How’re you, man?”
“Fairly well,” Flynn said. “Have you had a chance to read that book on Egyptian mythology yet?”
Jake nodded quickly with a smile on his face. “Uh, yeah, yeah. Couldn’t put the damn thing down.”
Flynn’s grin grew into a full-on smile and wow did Jake just actually get a little weak in the knees? Thank god Ezekiel was in the back. “Well, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I figured since you enjoyed that Greek art book so much that you’d enjoy a little bit of Egyptian history too.”
“Yeah, man, definitely,” Jake said. “I’ll make sure I get that back to you next time I see you in here.”
As Ezekiel stepped back out from the back with two fresh, chocolate chip cookies in hand, Flynn waved away Jake’s words. “No rush. Hold on to it for a while, if you want.”
Jake grinned, finally handing Flynn back his change as Ezekiel handed him his cookies. “Well, hey, thanks, Professor.”
Flynn gave him a bemused look. “You can call me Flynn, Jacob.” He shook his head a little and took a bite out of his cookie, turning towards the door. “See you two tomorrow!”
“Yeah, see ya!” Jake called after him, a pleased little grin on his face.
Ezekiel snorted. “Oh, dude-.”
“Shut it, Jones,” Jake snapped at him, pointing a warning finger in his direction.
Ezekiel held up his hands innocently, but he did nothing to wipe the shit-eating grin off his face.
~~~
A few days later Jake was working alone. Ezekiel had asked for the day off, so he could spend his morning with Cindy (his nauseatingly cute girlfriend) and since the coffee shop was hardly ever that busy anyway, Jenkins (their old, stern, slightly nicer-than-he-looked boss) had decided to give him it. While Jake was happy to be away from Ezekiel’s teasing for the day (which had taken a drastic increase after he began dating Cindy), that didn’t exactly mean he enjoyed standing in the near-empty building all by his lonesome.
“How ya doing, Stone?” Jake glanced up, slightly startled, as Eve Baird stepped up to the counter. He hadn’t even realized she’d walked in; maybe Ezekiel’s theory of her being a secret agent wasn’t too far off.
He stepped to the side and began pouring her usual drink (black coffee, nothing added) and said, “Uh, pretty good. How’re you, Baird?”
She shrugged and leant against the counter, arms crossed over her chest. “Tired.”
“Oh yeah? Haven’t seen you in here lately; did you go on a trip?” Jake asked, not-so-subtly trying to prove Ezekiel’s theory; he’d be proud of Jake if he were there.
She gave him a smirk. “That’s classified.”
He huffed out a laugh and handed her her coffee as she passed him a five. He was about to say something else when the door flew open, and Flynn stumbled in. He had an armful of papers clutched to his chest and his face barely peaked over the top of them. He gave the two a wide grin. “Good morning!”
“Morning, Professor,” Eve said, smirk still in place. She slid over a little as Flynn stumbled up and dropped his papers onto the counter with a heavy sigh. “Work on a Saturday?”
“Work on every day,” Flynn said with a rueful grin. He glanced at Jake, and the smile grew brighter. “Hot chocolate please.”
“You got it, man,” Jake asked, starting to make the drink. “So, what’re you grading today?”
“A paper on the importance and characteristics of Gothic architecture,” Flynn said with an excited note in his voice.
“And that’s my cue to leave,” Eve said, taking a sip from her coffee. She sent a wink at Jake. “Don’t defile the coffee counter while I’m gone.”
Jake flushed and nearly dropped the cup of half-poured hot chocolate that was in his hands. Flynn frowned after Eve as she walked out with a little laugh thrown over her shoulder. He glanced at Jake, an eyebrow raising. “What was that supposed to mean? Did I miss something?”
“No, no, it was nothing!” Jake spluttered, handing Flynn his hot chocolate before he spilled it all over himself. “Hey, mind if I take a look at one of these?!”
“Uh, sure, be my guest,” Flynn said, taking a small sip of his drink before going to fish out his wallet and pay as Jake picked up one of the papers and scanned through it.
He frowned, glanced up at Flynn, glanced back down to the page, and back up to Flynn again. “‘It’s called Gothic because the guy who made one of the first Gothic cathedrals really liked the color black.’ Is…is this kid serious?”
Flynn sighed and closed his eyes for a few seconds before murmuring, “Yes, yes they probably are.”
“Wow,” Jake said, continuing to scan the paper. “You’ve really got your work cut out for you, Flynn.”
“Oh, trust me, I am well-aware,” Flynn said, shaking his head and beginning to gather up his papers. He smirked, a slightly bemused look on his face. “Unfortunately, not all my student can be a Jacob Stone. If they could, I would probably actually enjoy my job.”
“Oh, well, uh, thanks,” Jake said, a small smile on his face. He could feel his cheeks burning and tried to ignore it as he ducked underneath the counter. He came back up with a chocolate chip cookie wrapped in a napkin and set it on top of Flynn’s stack of papers. When Flynn arched an eyebrow at him, he shrugged. “On the house. Good luck with your grading.”
Flynn gave him a soft smile. “Thanks, Jake. See you tomorrow.”
“Yeah, see you!” Jake called after him as Flynn walked out the front door.
For the next couple of hours, he couldn’t get the stupid, dopey grin off of his face. Well…at least Ezekiel wasn’t around to tease him.
~~~
Of course, the day Cassandra came back from her Doctors Without Borders trip was a day that Ezekiel and Cindy (who had quickly joined the make-Jacob-feel-embarrassed-at-all-costs mission) were in the Annex, leaned across the counter to whisper to each other. Every so often they’d even glance at Jake and go off into a lot of giggling which really only served to put Jake even more on edge.
“Hi, guys!” Cassandra said cheerfully as she walked up to the counter. “My usual, please, Jake. If you remember it, that is.”
Jake smirked at her cheeky grin and said, “I could never forget it, Cassie. Or should I say, Dr. Cillian.”
Cassandra’s nose scrunched up at that. “No, no, definitely don’t say that. Cassie is just fine, thanks.”
“You don’t like the title?” Ezekiel asked with a little bit of a faux pout. “I think it suits you!”
Cassandra shook her head. “Not outside of the office and definitely not when you two say it. I just want to-.”
She was cut off by the door swinging open. Flynn floundered in with a half-manic grin on his face. He ran up to the counter, leapt over it, and pulled Jake into a tight hug, causing him to drop Cassandra’s drink on the ground. Jake, a little stunned, looked with wide eyes at Ezekiel and Cindy who were both giving pairs of thumbs-ups.
Flynn pulled back but left his hands on Jake’s shoulders. “I don’t know how you did it or even what you did, but thank you so much!” He spun around to the others and exclaimed. “He got me moved up to an advanced class! I’m not teaching freshman who took history of architecture because they thought it was a blow-off class anymore!”
“How’d you do that?” Ezekiel asked with an impressed little smile on his face.
Jake shrugged, but he had a tiny grin on his face. “I-uh-I know some guys up in the history building. Told them to look Flynn’s way. They said-.”
He was cut off by Flynn pulling him into another tight hug. Again, Ezekiel and Cindy shot Jake some more thumbs-ups. Cassandra laughed happily at the counter. “Well, I see you two finally got your shit together, huh? Thank god, I thought it was going to take forever for the tension to diffuse.”
Jake blanched, and Flynn pulled away, a small frown on his face. “Wait, what?”
“Well, I mean, clearly you guys are finally dating. I mean, you’ve both had crushes on each other for ages so, really, not that surprising,” Cassandra said with a tiny shrug. Off to the side, Jake could see Ezekiel and Cindy excitedly hitting each other with shocked looks on their faces. “When did you guys finally seal the deal?”
“We-uh-we hadn’t…” Flynn mumbled. Jake glanced at him and saw his face as equally flushed as his probably was.
Cassandra’s mouth fell into a tiny, little ‘o.’ “You’re…you’re kidding, right?” She glanced at Jake, and he slowly shook his head at her. “Oh…oops. Well…I should be going. I’ll uh see you guys tomorrow!”
Without her coffee (which was still a pitiful puddle on the ground), she spun around and raced out of the coffee shop. Ezekiel and Cindy, with a quick shared look, hastily followed her out.
Slowly Flynn turned to look at Jake. “What…was that?”
Jake flushed and stepped away, eyes searching behind the counter a mop. “Hey, man, I dunno, your guess is as good as mine.”
“For once, I don’t think that’s true,” Flynn said. He reached out, grabbed Jake’s wrist, and spun him back around to force Jake to look at him. Flynn raised an eyebrow at him. “Want to explain?”
“Not really,” Jake admitted. Flynn’s eyebrow rose higher. Jake ran a frustrated hand through his hair. “Argh, okay, okay. It’s just…I’ve kinda had a crush on you for, like, ever, and the others just like giving me a hard time about it. It’s seriously nothing, man; I’m getting over it.” He sighed and hung his head. “If you want, I got a friend who works at a different coffee shop only, like, ten blocks from here. Their cookies aren’t as good, but their hot chocolate’s way better. And-.”
“Jake,” Flynn interrupted him with a quiet chuckle. Jake glanced up, nervous, but didn’t look away when he found Flynn with a wide, bright, eyes-crinkled kind of grin on his face. “I don’t want to go to another coffee shop.”
“No?” Jake asked, equally hating and loving the little hopeful blurb that was starting to grow up from his chest.
Flynn shook his head, voice soft as he said, “No. And I don’t want you to start getting over your feelings for me…because then I would probably have to start getting over my feelings for you too.”
“Wait,” Jake said, a smile starting to tug at his lips, “seriously? Me?”
Flynn laughed and nodded. “Yeah, you. I kind of figured them out when-.”
Jake cut him off by leaning forward and pressing his lips against Flynn’s. He was smiling into the kiss, but he couldn’t even help it. Luckily enough for him, Flynn couldn’t seem to help it either.
“Plus,” Flynn murmured when they pulled away from each other, “nobody’s hot chocolate can ever rival yours, Jacob Stone.”
Jake quirked his lips. “Damn straight, Carsen.”
He ignored Ezekiel’s whooping, Cindy’s clapping, and Cassandra’s wolf-whistle from the door as he leaned in for another kiss.

Week 4: Cindy and Ezekiel
Cizekiel has been a kind of weird ship to me. It’s not that I hate it or anything, but I’m not exactly a huge fan of it either, and I don’t really know why.
When I first watched “And the Curse of Cindy,” I didn’t even realize the show was going to pair them together right until she kissed him, though I think that probably happened because I got very distracted by potion-induced Flynnstone and Ezekiel doing some major feelings/backstory sharing. Later on, when I watched it the second time around, I expected to feel a bit differently now that I could focus on it more, but nothing really changed.
There’s nothing that turns me away from the ship, other than the fact that both of them probably have some mental health issues that could impact any future relationship there. Maybe I’m picking up on sort of rebound vibe for Cindy, after what she just went through, going for Ezekiel because he showed her compassion not with any potion forcing him to care, and I don’t want her to throw herself at the first person who gives her that.
I think part of the reason I didn’t expect it is because Ezekiel didn’t either. When Stone had his one off love interest in “And the City of Light,” you could definitely tell from the get go that Stone was interested in her and the feeling was mutual. Ezekiel, however, didn’t even realize what was going on till halfway into Cindy pulling him down into the kiss, and his dopey face afterwards confirms he was thoroughly surprised by it. Of course, we can’t know for sure what Ezekiel had been thinking the whole time, but based off his body language and dialog, he wasn’t displaying interest in Cindy except for her well-being.
Do I think there’s something there between them now? Maybe. Ezekiel certainly had a bit of a realization afterwards, but I’m thoroughly against Stone’s theory that he was in love with her before the whole ordeal. Who knows why Ezekiel was immune, but it sure wasn’t because of romantic love. Maybe he put two and two together when he first met Cindy, and that somehow negated the effect. There’s a lot of theorizing on that, but that’s for another conversation.
If Cindy comes back next season, I’m all for it. I’d like to see how she’s doing after Ezekiel’s help. If they’re going to bring her back solely for a love interest though, I’ll be a bit annoyed. I mean besides her desperate need to be loved, we didn’t get to really learn what Cindy is actually capable of, what skills she has, what she could do to help the Librarians. Her character deserves more than just being a love interest. What would be cool is if Cindy is the one who picks up on Ezekiel’s ptsd, and confronts him about it, so that she can help him like he helped her, though that’s also hoping that the show decides to acknowledge that character development in Ezekiel.
All in all, I’m fine with the ship. Even after writing this I still feel, well weird is the best way to explain it. I’m not against it, but I guess you could say I’m mildly worried with what the show could do with that ship, and I don’t want Ezekiel being in a relationship that feels forced on his character.

Title: “Bad Coffee, Better Company”
Fandom: The Librarians (TNT series)
Notes: Okay, I know what you’re thinking, “Really Hannah, you’re stooping so low as a coffee shop au.” Now, just hear me out. These two were made for cute, stupid coffee shop au’s, and I will forever stand by this decision.
Ezekiel Jones hated his job. It was dull and boring and hardly anything ever happened. Of course, as a poor, college dropout that was just trying to make life work, quitting wasn’t an option. Quitting wasn’t even something he could consider in a dreamland.
And it wasn’t that working at the Annex was miserable. He was just miserable. Plus, he hadn’t even wanted to apply for the job nonetheless get it. No, that had been the direct result of Jacob Stone (roommate and reluctant childhood friend who had a list of issues almost as long as Ezekiel’s) who had been unwilling to go to his interview alone. Ezekiel had been roped into it as well and, consequently, received a job he hadn’t even been looking for.
But the pay was pretty decent. And at least he didn’t work at Starbucks with their bullshit ‘secret menus’ and Unicorn Vomit drinks. That was always Jake’s argument anyways.
The worst part about it though was that the only people who came were the same damn people every single day. They were nice and all, but Ezekiel had been hoping to branch out, maybe make some connections in New York; currently, it wasn’t working. The only people he’d made ‘connections’ with were Mr. Carsen, a professor at the nearby college and probably smarter than was really necessary to teach a bunch of bored twenty-year-olds; Ms. Cillian, a doctor that worked at a nearby hospital and relied on the coffee as a lifeline; and Eve Baird, who Ezekiel was pretty sure was a navy seal or something but had yet to convince her to reveal all her secrets.
Which, of course, was why Ezekiel was slumped against the counter now, building a stick figure out of stirring straws and tape. Jake, leant against the wall next to the coffee machines, was eyeing him disdainfully, a reprimand probably on the tip of his tongue. Ezekiel really didn’t care though; again, it wasn’t like anybody special was about to walk through the door anyway.
Which, of course, was when the gods decided to play mind games with him and sent a girl stumbling through the door. She was slightly shivering with raindrops smudging her wide-framed glasses and dripping from her hair. She had a small smile on her face that only grew when she noticed the two standing at the counter.
“Hi, hello,” she said, walking up to where Ezekiel had positioned himself next to the register. Her eyes flicked up and then traveled side-to-side quickly, reading the expansive menu that was written in colorful chalk above them.
“Uh, morning,” Ezekiel said, trying to sound smooth. Instead he was pretty sure he sounded like an idiot. Who was this girl and why was she making him so flustered so quick? He tried to smother it down because if he didn’t, Jake would have a field day teasing the crap out of him.
The girl glanced at him and grinned again before looking back up at the menu. She was chewing at her bottom lip in contemplation and only let it go to say, “Can I have a tall vanilla latte, please?”
Ezekiel glanced over his shoulder to Jake and gave him a curt nod. Jake rolled his eyes but sat up to start making the drink anyway. Ezekiel, with a winning smile, turned back to the girl and said, “That’ll be $3.25. And can I get a name for that?”
She glanced around at the empty coffee shop and frowned at him, an eyebrow raising just a little bit. “Seriously?”
Ezekiel shrugged. “It’s protocol.”
“Uh, right,” the girl said, smile quickly returning. As she fished in her little, sunflower-yellow handbag, she told him, “Cindy.”
Ezekiel nodded and grabbed a nearby sharpie marker, waiting for Jake to finish the drink. When he was done, he passed it to Ezekiel with a huff of annoyance before walking back to his spot on the wall to lean back against it again. Ezekiel quickly scribbled out Cindy’s name on the cup and handed it to her as she handed him a five-dollar bill.
“Please, keep the change,” Cindy said quickly as she grabbed the drink. She glanced down, glanced up, frowned, and glanced down again. She quickly stifled a little laugh as she stared at the cup.
“Oh no,” Ezekiel grumbled. “Did I spell your name wrong?”
“Oh, no, I mean, it’s no big deal!” Cindy said quickly. She was still grinning though and staring at the cup in wonderment. “It’s just…I’ve never seen my name spelled like that.”
Ezekiel leant over the counter to inspect just how he had spelled her name. ‘Cyndi.’ That wasn’t that weird…was it?
“Really?” Ezekiel asked, falling back on his heels. “Never?”
Cindy was laughing quietly now, shaking her head. “Nope, never.”
Ezekiel raked his hand through his hair. “Oh, uh, well…sorry?”
Cindy quickly shook her head. “Oh, it’s no problem. It’s cute.” She suddenly flushed, obviously realizing what she’d just said, and ducked her head. “Um, thank you. For the coffee! Have a nice day.”
Ezekiel watched as she quickly turned on her heel and all but fled from the coffee shop. He had a small, crooked smirk on his face and a bemused look in his eyes.
Jake snorted. “Oh, you’re gonna have it so bad, buddy.”
Ezekiel scowled and glanced over his shoulder. “Shut up, Stone. There’s no guarantee I’ll ever see her again anyways.”
~~~
Except, Ezekiel did see her again. Cindy came back the next day and the next and even the one after that. She kept coming so often that soon enough she was just as constant of a presence as Flynn the eccentric professor, Cassandra the doctor who couldn’t handle caffeine, and Eve the super-secret super-spy.
Ezekiel found himself enjoying her presence if not for the fact that she now spelled her name out loud each time she ordered her coffee, a little teasing grin always on her lips. She was cool and outgoing if a little bit awkward and weird. She snorted if you got her laughing too hard, and she’d blush at anything that sounded like an innuendo. She was a struggling botanist student, and, honestly, loved flowers more than anybody Ezekiel had ever met.
After about three weeks straight of Cindy walking into the coffee shop at precisely eight am, she was late. It was eight-thirty now, and, really, Ezekiel shouldn’t be as worried as he was. Cindy was a grown person; she could take care of herself. He was worrying for nothing; he barely knew her anyways. Maybe she’d finally found a better coffee shop than this dump; good for her!
“She’ll be here,” Jake said knowingly behind him. Ezekiel glanced at him, but it was like Jake hadn’t even spoken. He had his nose in a book that Flynn had given him on ancient Greek art; Ezekiel was pretty sure Jake had a nauseating boy-crush on Flynn and the gifts only made it ten times worse. He resolutely ignored Ezekiel, refusing to acknowledge that he’d spoken at all.
Ezekiel rolled his eyes. “I’m not worried.”
Jake snorted but was kind enough (or uninterested enough) not to say anything else.
And Ezekiel wasn’t worried. Cindy was fine. He’d barely known her. It wasn’t a big deal.
All of this was, of course, forgotten when Cindy practically raced into the coffee shop. She was panting heavily and cried, “I’m sorry! I was late! I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Jake, nonplussed, began making the only drink she’d ever actually ordered as Cindy walked up to the counter, still exclaiming, “Sorry, sorry, sorry. I slept in and then I nearly broke my ankle in the shower, but I’m here!”
Ezekiel couldn’t help the wide grin on his face. “No worries. I’m glad you’re here.”
“Yeah,” Cindy said, nodding and grinning too. “Me too.”
They waited patiently as Jake made the drink. When he was done, he passed to drink directly to Cindy, gruffly stated “Glad you’re not dead” and went back to his book.
When Cindy went to rummage through her handbag for the money, Ezekiel quickly said, “Hey, it’s on the house.”
She glanced up at him, confused frown on her face, and asked, “What do you mean?”
“I mean, it’s free,” Ezekiel said, shrugging. “Take it as a gift for not breaking your ankle, yeah?”
Cindy grinned. “Yeah, oaky…okay, cool. Thanks, Ezekiel.”
She was about to turn away, and Ezekiel quickly blurted, “And maybe as, like, a gift for making it here before you have to go to class, I can…take you on a date? After my shift and after your class, of course. We could go see a movie?”
Cindy glanced back at him, and her smile was so bright that Ezekiel could’ve sworn he was staring directly into the sun. “I would love to!” Her smile suddenly dimmed, and she quickly whispered, “I have a secret to confess though…”
Ezekiel raised an eyebrow. “Uh, yeah?”
She bit her lip worriedly and murmured, “Your guys’ coffee is really, really bad.”
Ezekiel barked out a laugh. “Uh, Cindy, that’s not a secret.”
She flushed and nodded. “Okay, great. Well, I’ll swing by here after class?”
Ezekiel nodded jerkily. “Yeah, yeah, great.”
And, suddenly, she leant across the counter and pressed a light kiss to his cheek. She pulled away, face red, and stammered a quick goodbye before fleeing from the coffee shop at a fast pace. Ezekiel ignored the way his own face felt like it was on fire.
“You realize that means the only reason she kept coming back here was to see you, right?” Jake said from behind him; his tone was smug.
Ezekiel ignored him, but he couldn’t help flushing deeper and the pleased little smile that wormed its way onto his face.
