Grow a heart
Words to live by.
Okay, I don’t understand the vocal Inho stans at all. I don’t hate Inho, but seeing how most individuals put down Jung to make Inho seem like a perfect angel made my dislike for him a lot stronger (Though I like him now, I ended up reading Cheese in the trap on Naver to ignore the negativity of the Webtoon community and I no longer had a dread seeing his face). So I had the misfortune of seeing Jung’s character being dragged through the mud because he played along with Sangchul’s conversation.
And no point of time did Jung manipulate the conversation. You know what he did? He let Sangchul talk himself into his own self righteous bubble and he listened and pretended to agree with his wrongful ideology.
After that, you know what Jung did? He took Sangchul’s thinking and shoved t right back in his face in a soft tone. Yes, Sanchul knew he was in the wrong, and he didn't want to admit, nor be accountable for his actions, so he tried to sweet talk Jung out of it.
Now if Jung is classified as manipulative for doing something WE ALL do, wasn’t Sangchul trying to be manipulative too? He tried to sway Jung into chucking everything up to an accident while throwing the blame off himself.
Jung threw the blame back at him and reminding him with a cool head that... you broke it, you should compensate. We’re friends, right? Half price.
As someone who is already walking in his father’s footsteps (professionally) he should be able to bargain with someone without causing too much of a ruckus and keeping his hands clean. I understand that most of the readers are either too young or naive to understand that the world doesn’t work by getting mad, being confrontational and wearing your heart on your sleeve but what he had done is something that is frequently done in plenty business proposals.
You call them a good businessman.
Sangchul dug his own grave and pissed off Jung in the process, true, he hid his raw emotions while addressing Sanchul because what good would it have done if he’d get mad at him? He let Sangchul’s mind work against him because homeboy knew he was wrong. And When Sangchul tried to make Jung seem unfair, what did Jung do? remind Sangchul of a few shitty things he [Jung] witnessed him [Sangchul] during the semester.
Please people, is manipulative the only word you know? If so, then i could show an instant where every character in the story has been manipulative.
The story is about POV. We have all read stories where you see people being driven to depression because they were misunderstood and people have been stubborn. The only reason I’m stressing on this is that there are people like Jung in real life. People who go through hard stuff and smile through it because it’s the mature thing to do and not because they want to.
Then there are people like the bashing reviewers, who only see a rich individual who seemingly has it all, and you guys take and nitpick from them without even trying to see their side of the story.
How you react to a character is typically how you act to people in real life. If Jung was to have his own story, and your negative type of thinking was in the story, then you’d call them cruel. You are accountable for your words. Free speech or not.
Its a story and all, but try to be mindful of the author’s message, you’d enjoy the story and the characters more. Even Inha [who is a walking disaster] is simply a girl with low self-confidence and too much unkempt rage. But she isn't a complete monster (I still don’t want her to be friends with Seol, I care about Sul too much).
It’s okay to dislike a character, but damn, why you gotta drag him in the mud every chapter then say she should be with Inho? Are you not reading the story? Is the ship all that matters? Damn.
Anyway. It’s unfortunate that the guilt Sangchul is feeling isn't actually guilt, but his fear of being discovered and his need to play victim. Remember this, this guy didn't apologize because he was afraid that Sul would be “too mad”. She deserves to be mad. She deserves to vent her anger and she deserves his heartfelt apology.
Jung doesn't care about that shit. He [Sangchul] had been consistently hurting Sul even before they [Jung and Sul] had been dating and this action crossed the line.
Sangchul’s last chance was in the conversation and he blew it. Pay for the watch! Grow a heart and apologize to all you’ve wronged.
