Hi! My name's Bee, and I'm the mod author and voice of Cirinel Direnni (as of yet unreleased). This is my daughter:

I'll have a more complete version of this post out by the end of the week, but here's the basics:

She's an Altmer from High Rock who was captured and tortured by the Thalmor.

She's a spell-axe with a penchant for conjuration and lightning magic. No ice!

She owes the player big-time for a rescue; you find her outside the Reeking Cave, escaping from the Thalmor Embassy.

She will, eventually, be fully romanceable.

She's scared of horses. She'll get over it. Maybe.

It's been awhile since I've done this, I have a new computer since my last one broke, and I've got nearly double the followers since then so.

Ahem.

I am making a custom-voiced follower for Skyrim.

She's an Altmer from High Rock named Cirinel Direnni.

Questions and suggestions are open.

I want her to be as good as I can make her, so I'm looking for features people want/like in followers, and/or questions about her so I can flesh her out more.

As of right now, she looks like this:

Hey! A bit ago, you said I could message you for help when it comes to modding. Can you tell me how you make Naomi disappear and appear at will? I’m wondering if it’s something I can use to solve a technical problem with Cirinel.

My technical problem is this:

I have two versions of Cirinel, one you find in a prison cell, and one you encounter at an inn after freeing Prison Nellie and letting her go. Free Nellie is the follower, Prison Nellie is not.

The prison, however, has a weird quirk to it. When you start the quest Missing In Action, the cell completely resets—dead prisoners, moved clutter, etc. The only way I’ve made anything stay gone is to console command disable it. So I need Prison Nellie to leave the cell, walk out of sight, and disable herself, because it would be REALLY weird if you’re with Free Nellie when doing MIA and encounter Prison Nellie again.

Does Naomi work anything like this? Is she scripted to disable whenever the player dismounts, or does she just go to a holding cell until summoned?

So Naomi has a completely separate cell where she hangs out until Taliesin needs her. She has markers where she's able to leave the cell to where Taliesin is location and then poofs back into her cell when Taliesin dismounts her.

Once the player dismounts their own horse, Taliesin dismounts as well. Naomi is then scripted to return to her cell once Taliesin is no longer riding her.

Okay, majorly changing where Cirinel spawns. Ran through it in a normal playthrough, got killed a bunch, checked the level, recommended level is 12. That + location is maybe a bit too much effort for a follower I want around from the theoretical start.

naurrr Nellie has a crippling fear of Falmer and Iri has a crippling fascination with them.... 😔 The ruins will not be fun for her

But consider the SHENANIGANS. Nellie has someone to hide behind! Also, Nellie frantically debating between intervening with Iri getting too close to one and saving her own skin.

Skyrim custom follower users of Tumblr

I’m currently in the process of making a High Elf follower mod, Cirinel Direnni. Basic facts:

She’s from High Rock (Balfiera)

She has a good relationship with her family

You find her as a Thalmor prisoner

She’s an adrenaline junkie

She’s a spellsword (uses a one-handed axe)

I plan to make her romanceable

I’m taking suggestions while her mod is still in the malleable stage; what would you guys want to see in a follower? Dialogue for specific things, things she can do, quests she’s part of?

I can’t promise that all requests will make it in, but I’m interested to see what wishes you have! Any feedback is appreciated, and you can direct questions about her here.

Working on dialogue for the Holds Package

This is for idle dialogue that Cirinel will say, infrequently and unprompted, while you travel each of Skyrim's nine holds. The goal here is to give her enough lines that she doesn't sound repetitive/boring if you travel with her for awhile.

A Proper Introduction to Cirinel

This is a blog for posting updates about Cirinel Direnni, my mod that I've been working on for the past year or so.

This is Nellie. She's my daughter.

Who is she?

She's an Altmer from High Rock! Specifically Isle Balfiera. It's an island off the coast owned by the Direnni Clan, which, through their messy history, are the reason Bretons exist.

Why is she in Skyrim?

Escaping the Thalmor. Trying to, anyways.

What's in her arsenal?

So far (based on personal playthrough, will probably cut some that don't work as a follower):

Her granddad's steel hand axe

Fury

Healing

She's half blind from Thalmor torture. No archery for her!

What's her opinion on-

Will she be romanceable?

That's the plan. Not on initial release, though; that's for her quest update.

Will she interact with other follower mods?

In a perfect world, yes. However, that requires a solid foundation to build off of (meaning a functional, test-ready Nellie) and the collaboration and coordination of another mod author, so don't expect anything unless I explicitly announce it. And definitely do not bother other creators about it.

What does she sound like?

Me! Here's a sample.

Why isn't she British?

Because I'm not British :)

No, I meant the in-world lore reason.

Oh. Because she's from High Rock, not Summerset. Have you heard Belethor? Delphine? Babette? American accent. She's as lore-consistent as the rest of Skyrim.

She had a braid before, didn't she?

Yep, she sure did! I've since decided that she's not about to step out of enemy territory with flawless hair, so her updated look reflects that. I really wanted it to look like she's trying to appear dignified despite her...less-than-optimal situation.

Where do I find her?

Outside of Reeking Cave, which is that death pit on the way out of the Thalmor Embassy. She made her escape, but got nicked by a Frost Troll.

Can I have her?

If she's not already out yet, you can join the closed beta. DM me and I'll give you the link to the latest version of her if it's available.

Are you using any other mods to make her?

Planning to! Here's what she currently has:

Clothes: Clean and Improved Mage Robes (as of last check, permissions say "yes with credit")

Axe: Nord Hand Axe (as of last check, permissions say "yes with no credit required")

Hair: KS Hairdos SSE (as of last check, permissions say "you are free to use this mod for your followers and npc mods")

Calian: Calians - Altmer Accessories (I made that!)

If the permissions on these change, understandably, so will this list.

What mods are you using for her appearance here?

Tempered Skins for Females

KS Hairdos (see above)

Clean and Improved Mage Robes (see above)

RaceMenu (to get more face customization options, not required to replicate in your own game)

As of now, everything necessary for her appearance will be in her mod as a standalone, meaning you won't need to download any dependencies, except Tempered Skins. You're gonna have to deal with vanilla Skyrim looks if you don't get that.

When's this mod expected to come out in full?

When it's ready to. I do have a roadmap of her progress, though, so you're welcome to have a look at that.
