Twenty years ago, one of my absolute favorite games released in Japan. One year later, I would pull some of the shadiest shit involving bad grades and a white out pen in order to get my hands on a gamecube-- to which I spent countless nights over the years pulling allnighters with friends (with the assistance of Doritos and a variety of mountain dew), create stupid ass OCs and """"original"""" comics, roleplay as one of its main villains-- Pokemon Colosseum holds a huge place in my heart.
Thank you Genius Sonority, Pokemon Company, and Nintendo, for this wonderfully dark and edgy experience.

OK, so I had an unusual dream yesterday. (this is another random Pokémon topic)
I’m in Pyrite Town (a prominent location in Pokémon Colosseum), and all of a sudden, the four Cipher Admins start swarming the town in search of Regieleki. Little did they realize, it was a hoax. I can’t imagine the looks on their faces! 😂
(I will make some artwork for this little dream/scenario eventually!)

Pokémon Villain Nightclub HCs
Giovanni secretly runs a nightclub called Black Rocket for villains and other villainous teams such as his own, Teams Aqua, Magma, Galactic, Plasma and Flare, this also includes Cipher, Team Dim Sun, Go-Rock Squad and several others including Team Skull and Aether Foundation personnel.
It opens at 5 pm and closes at 2 am.
The Go-Rock Quads perform music for the patrons, even doing requests and even allowing patrons to do karaoke.
Blake Hall, the boss of Team Dim Sun also is the nightclub’s bouncer, the Black Rocket has an 18 or over only policy, anyone visiting requires ID to enter.
Ghetsis gets extremely drunk easily and dancing.
Dancing is also a thing in the nightclub aswell as singing, sometimes the songs sung are explicit or vulgar.
Venus, Ein and Dakim also help with music and lighting during a karaoke hour.
Ghetsis and Archie had a drinking contest that ended in a draw.
Gordor also is the bartender, ironically he isn’t a big fan of alcohol, one of his men functions as a DJ.
N comes along with Ghetsis, he normally doesn’t drink and orders a mild alcohol.
Archie and Maxie fight eachother while drunk, Giovanni and Cyrus had to split them.
“Shots! Shots! Shots! EVERYBODY SHOTS!” - Ein, drunk of his rocker, Dakim was like, “Okay scientist, I think you had enough….”.
Naps got drunk so he didn’t have to deal with Lovrina.
Greevil and his sons sitting at the bar, Ardos doesn’t see the point in it, Eldes is dancing to the beat.
Evice got way too drunk and Nascor had to take him home.
Colress and Ein got on like a house on fire, Both spend the club chatting about science, Colress drunkenly cheered he is going to start a science club.
Lysandre and Xerosic both drank together, the other admins were dancing to the music except Mabel who sat with her boss
Zinzolin just comes here to get a drink, Ghetsis and Colress come to party and forget their troubles.

You lost the hair through either
1. Exposure to shadow pokemon and the corrupting auras they emit
2. The explosion caused by Wes could have singed your scalp, leaving you unable to grow it back fully
3. Lost your scalp after losing a bet with Dakim.
1. not a THING
2. who is WES
3. I am not personally ACQUAINTED with former CIPHER ADMIN DAKIM.
Let’s go with the EXPLOSION one. It sounds the COOLEST.

Mt. Battle is located in the north central part of the Orré region. A place of training, a solid, unaffected part of the landscape. 100 trainers, all armed to the teeth, ready at all times for any challenger. Mt. Battle being in danger was like... having an entire state utterly destroyed. A solid, stable part of the world as they knew it... something they all took for granted... about to be gone. Thomas & co. ran over there as fast as they could. Civilians said the invaders were led by a colossally muscular man with an incredibly savage pokémon beyond their wildest dreams. Thomas battled his way up, until... he found him. Dakim. The next Cipher Admin. Thomas saw Dakim punch an area leader named Vander, sending the poor soul flying. Then Dakim noticed Thomas and let loose his pokémon. Dakim was incredibly powerful... and smart. He had a metang, a marshstomp, a golem, and a camerupt, all of which knew Protect and Earthquake. One would use Earthquake while the other used Protect. It was incredibly tough, but eventually Thomas managed to pull off a groundbreaking victory. But then... Dakim pulled out one last pokémon...
A Shadow Entei.
Entei is a legendary pokémon. Only a few exist around the world, and are generally regarded as mere myth. It is said, each time Entei roars, a volcano erupts somewhere. Legendaries are part of creation myths and uphold the balance of the world. Entei is also part of a trio, also composed of Suicune and Raikou, the Legendary Dogs. Together, they have a close connection to a greater legendary... Ho-oh. Bird of hope.
Cipher caught and shadowed a legendary.
Thomas wasted no time, working frantically to keep his team alive against the onslaught of Shadow Entei. Eventually though, he managed to whittle down Entei's health. Then... Thomas did something impossible. Something only he could do.
He caught Entei.
Dakim was dumbfounded and horrified, fleeing the scene. Vander thanked Thomas and explained why Cipher was after him. He pulled out a legendary artifact... a Time Flute. It is said that if you play a Time Flute, you can encounter Celebi directly, but only once. Thomas took the item and gave Vander his thanks. After heading back to Agate and reassuring Yuki's grandparents that they were okay, Thomas heard that Cipher might be involved in controlling another town... The Under. A city buried deep below Pyrite Town. Thomas, Yuki, and company set out once more. Stay tuned.

Pokemon Colosseum - Mono-Bug Run - Cipher Admin Dakim
Probably the dumbest challenge I've done to date. This run doesn't truly start until purification becomes available. Yanma is your only Bug type for this part of the game and is required to be Level 65+ to even be able to live the attacks of both Entei and Metang all at once, in addition to getting Giga Drain from the Phenac Stadium to be able to deal with Golem, Marshtomp and Camerupt as well as a White Herb to combat the Special Defense drop from Psychic.

For everyone! The Emperor: How do they maintain responsibility? What could make them go over the edge?
☼ Muse tarot – ACCEPTING
Under a cut because “everyone” is a LOT of muses
For Mark, responsibility is something he doesn’t want, but will take on if he feels no one else is going to rise to the challenge. His mentality is generally something along the lines of “I can’t believe I have to do everything my damn self.” This is how he ended up becoming a hero in Orre. There weren’t a lot of people opposing Cipher, and certainly none as capable as him, so he just went for it.
Failing the people depending on him will make him go over the edge faster than anything. Not being able to do right by them will hurt him in ways few things can.
Justy is the most responsible adult to ever do responsible adult things. He takes on duties as gym leader, teacher, city council member, older sibling figure to his apprentices, literal older sibling to his brother, and shoulder to lean on for all his friends. He deals with an awe inspiring amount of stress and expectations placed on him by both himself and others, and his constant need to care for others keeps him from ever taking a break.
If anything is going to push him over the edge, it’s going to be a matter of simply trying to do too many things at once. Everyone has limits, but since Justy doesn’t know his, he keeps shouldering more and more responsibilities. Eventually, they will crush him.
The thing that can and will push Chishiya over the edge is taking responsibility for himself and his actions. He goes through life blaming the suffering he inflicts on others on the victims themselves. “This wouldn’t have happened if you weren’t so weak/stupid/gullible/soft.” “It’s not my fault you can’t handle it.” “You’re just dumber/weaker than me, that’s all.” His mentality is... bad. And if he were to fully acknowledge his fault in hurting so many people, it would be devastating to his already fragile mental health.
Nascour may not be the real leader of Cipher, but he does hold himself responsible for Cipher’s success and the well being of its members. Feeling in control is a big part of what keeps him going after everything that’s happened. Oddly enough, nothing can break him more than the experimentation already has, so despite his unbelievably shitty life, there’s nothing the universe could throw at him that he wouldn’t be able to handle given enough time.
As lead admin and head scientist, Ein is the backbone of Cipher’s activities. One would think this weighs heavily on him, but it really doesn’t. He’s in this for his own personal fulfillment, and the fact that others can rely on him is just icing on the cake. Like Nascour, there isn’t much of anything that can overwhelm or break him.
Hahaha, what responsibilities?! Miror B is carefree, darling!
Nah, B is financially responsible for keeping a dance studio he used to work at open. That’s really about it, though. He’s emotionally distanced himself from things that can weigh him down and be used against him, and as such, it’s hard to push him too far. If you try, he’ll just Naruto run away from his problems.
Lady Venus has an entire underground city worshiping her like a goddess, looking to her to guide and protect them, and holding her in higher regard than any other being. As much as she loves it all, it’s a lot to deal with. If something ever seriously disrupts her way of life, it will take a long time to recover from.
Answering this for Dakim would, unfortunately, include details from his backstory that I only want to reveal through threads. No Dakim secrets for you!
Despite Fein’s deep seated hatred for Mark, the two of them share the mentality of taking on responsibilities simply because someone has to. For Fein, it’s avenging Cipher after their fall. Even if he was just a peon, he believes he has what it takes to do what needs to be done.
And he has already been pushed over the edge.
Juan is a gym leader and former mentor to a Champion. This is a huge deal both socially and politically, and arguably one of the greatest responsibilities a trainer can have. He rises to this challenge with grace and delight, and virtually nothing can shake his resolve to do the best for his region and his League. Harming Wallace is probably the only thing that could truly get to him.
Lloyd’s duties are to Darkrai and Darkrai alone. Now that he’s dead, he just does what he’s told and doesn’t have to worry about much of anything. After all, only Darkrai has any power over him, and Darkrai would never wish him any harm or distress.
Kuzuryuu’s carrying the fucking weight of the world on his shoulders. Not because being a lawyer or a member of Team Galactic is such a huge responsibility, but because he sees himself as only doing the right thing if he tries to stand up for all the weak and downtrodden. As one can imagine, this is a lot of stress to place on oneself. He’s basically on edge 24/7 and all he needs is a little shove.
Yusuke is responsible for themself and themself only. Screw everything else. It’s survival of the fittest, baby. They’re not going out of their way to take charge for anyone or anything. Self reliance is their way of life, and as such, they can’t be pushed over the edge by way of their responsibilities.
Duo is a VERY STRESSED alien looking for their twin on an UNKNOWN PLANET. This is already a worst case scenario in terms of both rising to the challenge and being crushed by expectations. Someone please hug them.
The gym trainers are just kids, meaning that they have very little responsibility outside of getting good grades and doing what Justy tells them, but at the same time, very high stress levels in upholding these simple duties. It’s tough being 12, 14, and 16. Do not try to push them over the edge. It will be far too easy and they WILL cry.

Old vs. New: Pokemon Colosseum vs. Pokemon XD
Which is better, the original or the sequel?
GRAPHICS: The same in both. Advantage: Both.
MUSIC: The same in both. Advantage: Both.
GAMEPLAY: The same in both. Advantage: Both.
WORLD: The Orre region is the setting of both games, a desert wasteland full of scum and villainy, and no wild Pokemon. Between the desert there’s the beautiful Phenac City, the gritty run-down Pyrite Town, the rugged Mount Battle, the lush and peaceful Agate Village, the literal criminal underworld known as the Under, and the high-elevated Realgam Tower. It’s all very atmospheric and unique for a Pokemon game. Sadly, in XD, Orre has gotten tamer. The greenery from Agate is spreading, there’s now a regular Pokemon lab with a professor, a seaport with communication from other regions, Pyrite Town is cleaned up and the Under has been shut down, and it all just feels safer and more conventional for the Pokemon series. The only truly foreboding place introduced in XD is the volcanic Citadark Island where the climax transpires, but that’s not enough to offset the disappointment. Advantage: Colosseum.
STORY: In Colosseum, a member of Team Snagem named Wes discovers a conspiracy to take over Orre and ultimately the world by the Cipher organization, which involves messing with Pokemons’ minds and turning them into vicious “Shadow Pokemon”. This is too evil for even him, so he quits his life of crime, joins up with a girl named Rui with the psychic ability to identify Shadow Pokemon by their aura, and the two of them set off to stop Cipher’s plan by stealing, er, “snagging” Shadow Pokemon so that they can be purified. In XD, a boy named Michael starts work under Professor Krane and inadvertently gets drawn into fighting against a resurrected Cipher’s new plan for world domination, five years after their defeat in the original, and the same snag and purify Shadow Pokemon antics unfold, though Michael uses a scouter-like device instead of a psychic sidekick. The sheer lack of originality in the sequel’s story really drags it down. Colosseum’s plot feels a lot fresher. Advantage: Colosseum.
GOOD GUYS: The main character of Colosseum is Wes, a former hood who cruises around in a vehicle with his trusty Espeon and Umbreon, plus his female friend Rui. Wes is badass, with a cool, almost sinister design befitting of a former villain turned roguish anti-hero, and Rui also has a cool design and a likable personality. Their allies include police chief Sherles of Pyrite Town, Rui’s wise old grandfather Eagun of Agate Village, and the Kids Grid of the Under. In XD, the main character is a simple boy named Michael, with allies including his mother Lily and annoying sister Jovi, his mentor Professor Krane, the wacky Dr. Kaminko and his wacky assistant Chobin, and surprisingly enough the boss of Team Snagem, Gonzap. Personally, I think the heroes of Colosseum have more charisma to them, and their struggle seems much more worth investing in since they are battling against the odds and lack all the resources available to the cast of XD which evens the playing field. Advantage: Colosseum.
BAD GUYS: The incarnation of Cipher in Colosseum is brilliant. There are a variety of peons and hired thugs to contend with, some of them even standing out like the male duo of Folly and Trudly, and the female duo of Reath and Ferma. The Cipher Admins include the comedic starter villain Mirror B., who is a truly bizarre and memorable presence, and the more dangerous Dakim, Lady Venus, and Dr. Ein, each carrying one of the three Legendary land Pokemon of Johto. The leader of Cipher’s activities is the terrifying Nascour, while the true boss is the equally frightening Evice, whose public front is Mayor Escade of Phenac City. XD’s roster is less impressive - the peons are usually way more comedic than they are intimidating (there’s even a Sentai squad of them!), and while the Admins Gorigan, Lovrina and Snattle are cool characters, they don’t have the same edge as their predecessors. Worst of all is the leader Greevil, now retconned to have been the true boss all along, who lacks the convincing front Evice put on and is obviously evil from the minute you see him as “Mr. Verich”. He is so ridiculously evil up to the ending where he has a sudden, unrealistic change of heart and turns himself in, resulting in a big anticlimax. His bodyguard sons, Eldes and Ardos, had potential, but they sadly aren’t very well developed. Advantage: Colosseum.
PLAY VALUE: Colosseum, being the story mode to a bigger game, is shorter than XD, but this gives it much more replay value. XD is more one-and-done. Advantage: Colosseum.
At a score of 8 to 3, the winner is Pokemon Colosseum!
