I can't help but thinking of a pred who HATES the predatory instincts they have. Maybe they were experimented on leading to the development of these instincts in line with a more animalistic/monstrous appearance or maybe they've just developed

Regardless, they don't hate it in the sense of "These are horrible, I'm a disgusting monster, blah, blah, blah :(", but more in the way of maybe hating the lack of control or the sensation of the predatory urge and, like, are internally irritated at whatever prey in a sort of "How dare you make me feel like this? How dare you be tantalizing and edible?" sense. Even though, of course, it's not the preys fault for existing

I don't know who needs to hear this, but:

You don't HAVE to be out of your parents house the second you turn 18

You're not a waste of space or a bother if you work at stores your entire life, or if you work within the same career genre

You don't need to and likely won't make six figures before you're 30 to be successful

Life isn't over if you didn't go to college out of high school and you can go to college whenever you feel/want/are able to, there's no actual time limit

You don't NEED to have a family of your own with kids before you're 30

You also don't NEED to be in a relationship at all if you don't want to date for whatever reason, don't let anyone somehow shame you for being single

Don't feel like you have to follow some aesthetic to appear grown up, white and beige are stupidly the normal but decorate how you like

Every adult usually has something they like, either hobby/show/vibe. Keep up posters or figurines/toys/plushes of things you like

Life is both terrifyingly fast but also agonizingly slow, a real "blink and you'll miss it" yet can feel almost sluggish if you're in a rut. Goals and milestones can help with ambition, but don't need to be set in stone and you don't have to stay with a job/major your entire life if you don't want to. Adversely, if you're completely content with perhaps a 'simpler' job and make enough money, don't feel pressured into 'making something of yourself' or whatever

Whatever blueprint you have in your brain of what being an adult or successful is doesn't have to be what you strive for if you don't want. My mindset is that as long as you're making enough and you're happy, that should be good enough. Who cares what your hobbies/interests are as long as you're not hurting yourself or others, they're not the ones that have to live with you

A healthy dose of shame in the way of keeping yourself from doing something stupid is good, but being entirely engrossed in it that you don't let yourself live will keep you frozen in place and away from enjoying yourself for years. Also, not having any shame leads to some of the dumbest things known to man and will definitely bite you in the ass

I don't know if anyone else asexual feels something similar, but despite being nonbinary there's just some instances where I see myself and feel kind of 'sexy' (despite the low self esteem). And, it's always felt conflicting because of the whole 'effort into appearance has some sort of equity connection to libido', which is one of the reasons why I personally love the Jessica Rabbit is asexual headcanon. Because sometimes, I too want to feel 'sexy' but touch me and I'll bash your teeth in

Just want people to look at me how I look at objectively hot people sometimes. I feel nothing below the belt, but goddamn I still have eyes and can appreciate the way some people look
