Hello again to all my cannabis loving and canna-curious friends and welcome back for another episode of The First 90 Minutes! Today we will be toking and talking about the awesome strain from Root 90, which I picked up from my friend Devlin at Sira Naturals in Somerville, Cinderella 99! This beautiful bud has been said to leave its consumers feeling happy, euphoric, uplifted, energetic, and relaxed. This strain’s THC levels measure up to 16%, and its top three terpenes are Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Limonene are responsible for its earthy, peppery, and citrusy scent and flavor. Now let’s take a deeper look at the terpene profiles of this product and what it brings to the healing properties of this bud.

Myrcene, which can be found in an array of herbs and citrus fruits (I.e.- hops and mangos), has been found to give off an earthy, musky, and herbal scent and flavor. It had been found to strongly effect the psychoactive properties of cannabis, by lowering the blood to brain barrier, which allows more blood and chemicals to filter through your brain. This also interacts with the CB1 receptors in the brain allowing this terpene to maximize its psychoactive effects. Caryophyllene, which is responsible for the spicy, peppery, and/or woody flavor and aroma, has been found in basil, cloves, black pepper, and cinnamon. It has been found to be beneficial for the GI tract, as an analgesic, an anti inflammatory, and an anti-oxidant, as well as a potential anti-carcinogen.

Finally, Limonene, which can be found in citrus fruits and peppermint, have been shown to be beneficial in treating acid reflux, anxiety, depression, pain, and fatigue. Now that we have run through the terpene profiles for this strain, let’s touch on the potential negatives to watch out for. The potential side effects are dry mouth, dry eyes, paranoia, anxiety, and dizziness. That sums up the background of this product, so I say let’s jump ahead to our testing portion. So, without further ado, let’s light up, sit back, and relax as we toke and talk about the First 90 Minutes!

I am starting this session off at 11:43 a.m. with three hits from my silicone pipe. The scent is earthy and peppery and the flavor is fruity, citrusy. I am using this for anxiety, depression, and stress with hopes of increasing my mood, relaxing, and hopefully countering some fatigue. At 11:53 a.m., my level of chattiness seems to be increasing. Where I wasn’t feeling like talking before, I am now. My mood is slightly lifting, I feel more level than low, and the anxiety is beginning to decrease as is the fatigue. I’m not feeling much in the way of physical effects right now, and no negatives.

At 12:13 p.m., I feel the stress and anxiety that was actively plaguing my head has decreased to a point where I feel almost normal. My mood has leveled out and I am better able to process my feelings, where I wasn’t able to before. I am also finding it easier to process the situation which led to the trigger as well. Physically I am experiencing some subtle physical relaxation. Enough that my body feels comfortable, but I’m not glued to one spot. If I wanted to do projects, I could definitely focus on those, but right now I’m focusing on talking through a situation. I feel I’m in a safer place than I was earlier on today. No negatives yet.

At 12:43 p.m., i’m experiencing a continued subtle physically relaxed state and my mind is still calm, anxiety and stress-free, and my focus and energy are great. I had not had much of an appetite due to stress, but I am starting to feel hungry. My mood has exceeded level, putting me in a happy and relaxed state. No negatives to report.

Rounding the corner to our 90-minute mark at 1:03 p.m., I can feel the effects decreasing, but I still have the relaxed mental state and happy mood. Physically the subtle relaxation is there, but it has lifted pretty significantly. This strain did not have a lot of bodily effects, and I feel the mental effects, especially my focus, is still pretty good.

I found that this strain hit the nail on the head in regards to meeting my specific needs. My anxiety, depression, and fatigue were whisked away, leaving me feeling awake, upbeat, and anxiety free. I was also ecstatic about the effects lasting until 1:26 pm, which gave me just over and hour and a half of consistent relief. I think next time I may try to go a little heavier and see if I can prolong the effects a little more, but between the longevity, the rapid rate in which the effects came on, and the lack of negatives experienced, I must say I am extremely pleased with this bud. This being said, I have to give this product 4.7 stars. Great work Sira, keep it up!
